Mayweather Promotions’ John Easter Extends Knockout Streak to 7-0 with Dominant Win in Mexico

LAS VEGAS, NV (August 27, 2024) – Mayweather Promotions’ undefeated middleweight powerhouse John “The Candyman” Easter (7-0, 7 KOs) continued his knockout streak this past Saturday, August 24, 2024, with an explosive victory over Jesus Villa Miranda (7-113, 1 KO) of Mexico City, MX. The fight, which was part of the Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. vs. John Gotti III event aired live on DAZN. Easter’s win marks his seventh consecutive knockout, solidifying his reputation as one of the division’s most dangerous rising stars.

In a scheduled 6-round bout, Easter showcased his devastating power, stopping Flores as he displayed precision accuracy with his jab and power punches. After six dominant rounds, Easter ended the fight when the referee seen to much damage to Flores’ face. With this victory, Easter has now fought in Mexico five times, building a strong fan base south of the border.

“Winning this fight in Mexico means a lot to me,” said John Easter. “I’ve fought here five times now, and I feel the love and support from the fans. I’m grateful to Mayweather Promotions for the opportunity to perform here again, and I’m glad I could give them another knockout to remember.”

Easter’s trainer, the renowned Bob Santos, was equally impressed with his fighter’s performance. “John looked great in this fight,” said Santos. “He showcased his power and controlled the action from the start. His knockout streak is no fluke—he’s got the skills and the strength to back it up. He’s a tremendous fighter and he has the one attribute that all trainers love, punching power! We will continue to work on all aspects of his game. I’m excited about his future.”

As Easter continues his rapid ascent in the middleweight division, he has his sights set on an active remainder of 2024. “I want to stay busy for the rest of the year,” Easter concluded. “I’m hoping to fight two more times before the year ends. The more I fight, the better I get, and I’m ready to keep proving myself.”

Floyd Mayweather Jr. Quotes:

“It’s always great to be able to fight where there is a lot of fight fans and we know that Mexico of boxing. Mexico has a history of great champions and the love of boxing in Mexico is truly unbelievable. I had so many chances to go to Mexico to visit and vacation but I’ve never had the chance to go to Mexico and actually fight. Now throughout my career as an amateur as well as a professional, I had the chance to face so many legendary and so many tough opponents from Mexico. The flipside, now, I’m going to Mexico where I truly believe that there’s going to be crazy fans and the outcome is going to be unbelievable. I look forward to going to Mexico and putting on a show.”

“It’s kind of good to just showcase my talent and give people a glimpse of what I was doing when I was at the height of my career. When I was at the pinnacle of my career. Just being able to travel the world and put on shows, put on exhibition bouts and still sell out arenas is a great feeling.”

“I truly believe that if I took a lot of abuse in the sport of boxing throughout my career, then I probably wouldn’t still be doing exhibitions or putting on boxing showcases, but I didn’t take no abuse in the sport of boxing so I feel like I can continue to go out there, have fun and put on shows throughout the world.”

“Last time I checked, I’ve beat more fighters that are in the Hall of Fame than any fighter in history and that’s truly a blessing. But [Gotti] is a tough competitor and I take my hat off to him. He wanna run it back, we can run it back twice, three times. It is what it is. I was born to be a fighter, I’m gonna die a fighter at the end of the day.”

“I take my hat off to guys like Muhammad Ali, because they paved the way for me to be where I’m at today, so I have to take my hat off to a legend like that. My career was a little bit different, you know, whereas when you look at Muhammad Ali’s career, when he was 36 [years old], he lost to Leon Spinks. When I was 36, I fought a young lion like Canelo. Leon Spinks, at that particular time, I think had six wins and one draw when he fought Muhammad Ali. When I fought Canelo, he was 23 years old and we had the same amount of fights, he had like 43 or 44 fights when we faced each other. So, Ali at 36 and Floyd Mayweather at 36, I think we were two different fighters because the first thing that I learned from my father was the less you get hit, the longer you’re able to last in the sport of boxing. Now when you guys look at Muhammad Ali’s career, when he was able to voice his opinion and stand up for the people, they hated him. Once he wasn’t able to speak anymore, he wasn’t able to walk or talk, then the world loved him.”

“If I was really taking abuse in the sport or I was getting battered then I don’t think I’d be doing exhibitions, but I was able to surround myself with smart individuals, that’s what makes me smart, because I want to surround myself with a smart team and I’ve made a lot of smart investments. So, am I doing this for the money? Absolutely not. I’m doing it because this is what I want to do.”

John Gotti III Quotes:

“Thank you everybody for coming out. I’m excited, you know. I think this is fate. I think the first time, how me and Floyd got together to fight was fate and I think this time is fate. We weren’t supposed to have this fight again and we’re here. Obviously, I’m excited, and why not? I get a second chance to go against one of the greatest fighters to ever lace up boxing gloves.”

“I’ve been motivated and training the whole entire year. Since the last fight ended, I’ve been in the gym. I’ve been dwelling on this fight and obsessing about this fight. Like my father said, I’m a dweller. You get me once; shame on you. You get me twice; shame on me.”

“It was a very unique experience for me the first fight. Floyd was my idol growing up, you know? It’s no secret, this guy was my guy.”

“Like Floyd said at the weigh-in, talk is cheap, and he’s absolutely right. Talk is cheap. So, I took that to heart, and may the best man win on August 24th. I’m ready for a war, and I mean that this time from the bottom of my heart. I’m ready for a fight.”

“I think me and Floyd were having fun. We were fighting and bantering back and forth. That’s nothing unique to boxing, that’s part of the game. We were clinching a little bit. I think I did pretty decent job of not clinching.”

“(Referee) Kenny Bayless had warned us the round before: ‘Enough with the clinching.’ But I believe there should have been at least one more firm warning… Floyd didn’t want the fight stopped, nor did I. People paid a lot of money to be there. We both were having fun and it’s unfortunate. But we get to do it again, and we’re going to settle this like men this time. That’s it. Me and him.”

“I’m one of only two fighters to ever get a chance to rematch Floyd again. I’m excited.”

“Anybody who knows anything about boxing knows what kind of heart [Mexican] fighters have and what kind of spirit the people have. So, I’m looking forward to bringing that spirit to Mexico. I gave my word. I’m going to fight as hard as I can, and hopefully, I can capture some of that energy, the Mexican fighting energy.”

“If you’re a competitor and you’re proud of who you are as a man, you’ll do the work that has to be done and you’ll bring your best on fight night. All that other fancy stuff, the sunglasses like I was wearing the last fight and the Louis Vuitton jackets, I threw that away. This is me. Shaved head, hat, and track suit. I’m ready to go to war. I’m ready to fight.”

“I want this to be remembered as a very entertaining fight. Floyd keeps repeating himself, saying ‘boxing showcase’ and ‘boxing exhibition.’ I’ve been watching Floyd my whole life, since I’m a kid. I’ve never once seen Floyd show up early to an event. I was early in Florida and he’s already there warming up. I’ve never seen Floyd prepare the way he has, and I’ve never seen Floyd throw as many punches in two minutes as he did in our fight. So obviously it was a fight. Obviously, he wanted to hurt me and knock me out. So, he’s not gonna snooker me again with this exhibition nonsense. He’s coming to knock me out again and I’m gonna try to knock him out this time, so that’s that.”

John Gotti Jr. Quotes:

“First off, thank you, and welcome everybody to beautiful New York. One thing I’ve observed of my son since he was a baby is that his toughest critic was always himself. If he didn’t get something right, he’d beat himself up over it, and my wife and I would always facilitate him basically not to beat himself up. To get away with it. But he would still continuously beat himself up if he didn’t get it right. If he didn’t take a test appropriately in school, he failed that particular test. One thing I’ve learned about John – on re-dos, he’s probably the best you’ve ever seen. I think Floyd made a mistake. He honored his word and gave John a rematch. He’s a man of his word. He’s an honorable man. But I think he made a big mistake. John takes re-tests better than anybody I’ve ever seen, and I think the fighter you’re going to see enter the ring on August 24th is gonna blow your minds. That’s what I believe. I believe he’s gonna shock the world and blow your minds.”

“I was adverse to John being a fighter. I’ve never wanted my son to pursue this career…”

“When your son, or daughter, asks you to honor their dream. To help them facilitate their dream, you do everything in your power to help them facilitate that. To achieve their goal, and I did. I stood behind John on what’s been now almost a ten-year career.”

“Floyd was kind enough to extend the invitation years back for John to make that jump over to boxing. We accepted that jump over. I think we put on a really good show last time, especially after the fight, which was not by design. But I really believe you’re in for a shocking surprise on August 24th. I believe the show is going to be extremely entertaining but I’m adverse to what Jose had said. It is not going to be eight rounds. It is going to end sooner. That I promise you.”

“We did a CompuBox on [the first] fight, ok. In Floyd Mayweather’s history, 50 professional fights, never in [the first] two minutes of any fight, has he thrown that many punches. So, exhibition, my ass. It was a fight. He came to win. He came to war. He came to knock the kid out. The kid didn’t get knocked out. I promise you; I promise you; this young man is gonna go to war, or (in jest) he can stay in in Mexico, he can’t come home. He’s gonna go to war.”

VICTOR ORTIZ RETURNS TO THE RING TO FACE RODRIGO DAMIAN CORIA IN THE CO-MAIN EVENT TO FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR. VS. JOHN GOTTI III

MEXICO CITY, 17 JULY 2024 –The stage is set for a proper clash of titans at the CDMX Arena on Saturday, August 24. With a great night of fights headlined by the rematch between Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. and John Gotti III, the newly announced co-main event features former WBC Welterweight Champion, “Vicious” Victor Ortiz facing the No. 5-ranked Argentine Rodrigo Damián Coria, a former WBO Latin Champion who has never been knocked out.

Ortiz, a Mexican American boxing star, known for his power and speed in the ring, had a memorable fight against Mayweather in 2011. In that fight, Ortiz let his guard down to try to make peace with Mayweather after a foul, which resulted in two lethal blows from the American that ended his night. This story adds an element of interest to the night’s co-main event at the CDMX Arena on Saturday, August 24.

The 37-year-old Ortiz, who was born and raised in Kansas, has forged his path in boxing with determination and resilience. Under the guidance of his trainer, Bucky Ignacio Ávila, Ortiz debuted professionally in 2004 and quickly stood out for his aggressive style and knockout power. In 2011, he secured the World Boxing Council (WBC) welterweight title in a tough battle against André Berto, cementing his status as champion.

Beyond his accomplishments in the ring, Ortiz is known for his commitment to charitable causes, supporting underserved communities, and inspiring future athletes. Obstacles have marked his career, but his relentlessness and passion for boxing have led him to overcome each challenge.

Coria, a 25-year-old originally from Mercedes and based in Córdoba, will face Ortiz in this important co-feature. Coria has shown great tenacity throughout his career, standing at 1.78m tall and with a record of 13-5 with 2 KOs. Among his most notable victories are those obtained against Adrián Sasso, Marco García Ovejero, José Alberto Vargas, Roque Junco, and Marcelo Bzowski, the latter two in the United States.

With his complicated style and southpaw status, Coria faces a dangerous and more experienced knockout artist. This bout represents a significant challenge, especially considering Coria is fighting on the road, which adds a layer of difficulty to his counterpunching style, which is not always valued abroad.

JAM-PACKED UNDERCARD ANNOUNCED FOR FLOYD MAYWEATHER VS. JOHN GOTTI III EVENT ON SUNDAY, JUNE 11 LIVE ON ZEUS NETWORK PAY-PER-VIEW FROM FLA LIVE ARENA IN SUNRISE, FLORIDA

SUNRISE, FL. – May 31, 2023 – The undercard is now set as a stacked lineup will lead up to undefeated boxing Hall of Famer Floyd “Money” Mayweather’s return to the ring on Sunday, June 11, in an exhibition showdown against professional fighter John Gotti III, the grandson of famous gangster John Gotti.

A unique crossover extravaganza and star-studded night featuring musical performances and more, “LAST NAMES MATTER” will be available through Zeus Network Pay-Per-View on Sunday, June 11, from FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida, in partnership with renowned director and producer Deon Taylor. Be sure to catch the exciting fight week activities at The Fontainebleau Miami Beach, the official Fight Week home of Mayweather vs. Gotti.

Tickets for the live event are available through Ticketmaster by clicking HERE.

In the co-featured, eight-round exhibition, film and fighting star Ulysess “The Monster” Diaz will rematch popular UK-based fighting star Khalas “BabaYaga” Karim in the sequel to their all-out war from February that stole the show on another Mayweather topped Zeus Pay-Per-View undercard.

Incredibly, Cuban-born, Miami-based cruiserweight Ulysses “The Monster” Diaz didn’t start fighting professionally until he was 35 years old. The subject of a 2022 Urban Film Festival-winning documentary about his life, Diaz grew up with accomplished rapper and singer Pitbull and even traveled the world as his head of security. The now 42-year-old has a successful boxing career at 14-1, 13 KOs and is a breakout star at bareknuckle boxing, where he broke the record for the World’s Fastest Combat Sports KO, made official by Guinness World Records, by laying out Donelei Benedetto in three seconds. Diaz is engaged to WWE Diva Dana Brooke.

Popular “Wicked n’ Bad” light heavyweight champion and boxing prodigy Khalas Karim currently resides in the UK and is originally from Morocco via Denmark. Karim asserted himself as a force by going toe-to-toe with the formidable Diaz in their first clash, an exhibition slugfest for the ages. Despite the size and experience disadvantages, Karim showed refined technique against Diaz and was surging as the fight progressed.

In another high-profile four-round exhibition, world-class heavyweight Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller will take on popular Vegas-based undefeated heavyweight Antonio Zepeda.

The undefeated Jarrell Miller was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, home to his idols and former greats Mike Tyson and Riddick Bowe. An outspoken and entertaining slugger, Miller began boxing at the age of 16 and went 10-1 as an amateur. Now 34-years-old, the 6’ 4” Miller currently holds a professional record of 26-0-1, with 22 KOs and was last seen knocking out former champion Lucas Browne in six rounds in March of this year. Still considered a dangerous heavyweight, Miller is closing in on a career-defining fight against one of the current stars of the big man’s division.

An “against the odds” story of perseverance, Antonio Zepeda was raised in Phoenix group homes after his father, who was serving a life sentence for murder, died in prison in 2014, and his mother, who struggled and was on the streets, died a year earlier. The 6-foot-6, 270-pound Zepeda was a Phoenix Camelback High School All-Arizona football defensive end. He began his boxing training less than a year after his dreams of an NFL career ended at UNLV in 2017, when he suffered a broken tibia, torn MCL and meniscus. The 28-year-old Zepeda is currently 6-0, 6 KOs as a boxer and a 2-0, 2 KOs in MMA. Now residing in Las Vegas, Zepeda’s fighting style has drawn comparisons, stylistically, to former Polish heavyweight Andrew Golota.

Also scheduled for action is a four-round bareknuckle boxing match between MMA star Hector Lombard and Eric Turner.

Héctor Lombard is a Cuban and Australian professional mixed martial artist, bodybuilder, and former Olympic judoka who competes in the Light Heavyweight division of Eagle FC. Lombard is best known for his tenure in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and has also fought in Deep, Pride, and Bellator where he was the inaugural Bellator Middleweight Champion. Born in Cuba Lombard represented his home nation at the 2000 Sydney Olympics in Judo.

In another four-round exhibition bout, J’Hon Ingram will battle Ryan “Stone” Allen.

Light welterweight prospect J’Hon Ingram (3-0, 3 KOs) has been touted as “The Next Floyd Mayweather,” by Mayweather himself. The undefeated Las Vegas resident had a short amateur career of just 12 bouts, as his impressive style was already better suited to the professional ranks. Originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Ingram was first introduced to Mayweather when the Hall of Famer was looking for a sparring partner for an upcoming exhibition fight. The first sparring session with Mayweather proved life changing for Ingram and gave him experiences money can’t buy. The 22-year-old Ingram most recently saw viral success online for knocking out world champion Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero in a sparring video.

The 30-year-old Ryan Allen (10-6-1, 5 KOs) currently resides in Las Vegas, but originally hails from Jackson, Michigan. A seven-year professional, Allen has faced a list of top contenders, including current world champion Robeisy Ramirez and has never been stopped. The deceptively capable Allen has never lost to a fighter with more than one loss on this record.

To open the action, Kamari “KB3” Burnside will fight three exhibition rounds against Brendan Jackson.

A Las Vegas resident, Burnside is a promising amateur boxer and sparring partner for fellow boxing prospect Nico Ali Walsh at Top Rank Gym. A Floyd Mayweather protegee, the 6’ Burnside was formerly a basketball standout guard at Desert Oasis High School in Las Vegas where he was named the Las Vegas League Defensive Player-of-the- Year; averaging 13 points per game, 4 assists per game, 3 rebounds per game, 2.8 steals per game, and breaking the Nevada high school record for steals in a season with 84.

In addition to Mayweather’s exhibition, the event will feature performances from superstar recording artist Ozuna and more. Ozuna has won multiple Latin Grammy Awards and Billboard Music Awards, in addition to his 2018 collaboration with DJ Snake, Cardi B and Selena Gomez on “Taki Taki” that went quadruple platinum.

The event is dedicated to the loving memory of Marikit “Kitchie” Laurico, Mayweather’s longtime assistant who passed away suddenly in April.

Gotti III has moved beyond the shadow of his famous last name to put together an impressive resume as both a professional mixed martial artist and a professional boxer. He officially made his transition into pro boxing in October 2022, winning a unanimous decision over Albert Tulley. He followed that up with a first round KO over Alex Citrowske in his last fight this January. “I grew up idolizing Floyd and I’m honored to have this chance to step into the ring against him,” said Gotti. “He’s one of the greatest boxers of all time and he’s the reason I got into the fight game. But on June 11, I’m gonna punish him.”

We cannot wait to see him in the ring again in Miami and understanding that some of the proceeds will be given to at risk youth just furthers Floyd’s brilliance and heart.”

From the cage to the squared circle, Long Island’s Gotti returns January 21 at Mohegan Sun Arena on undercard of CES Boxing’s Winter Brawl

Uncasville, CT – One of combat sports’ fastest-rising stars continues his transition from the cage to the squared circle Saturday, January 21 at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Mixed martial arts standout John Gotti III of Oyster Bay, NY, returns for his second professional boxing match at Winter Brawl, promoted by CES Boxing, the parent company of CES MMA, which promoted all six of Gotti’s MMA bouts.

Gotti, who is 1-0 as a pro in boxing, faces Alex Citrowske (1-1-1, 1 KO) of Saint Cloud, MN, in a four-round cruiserweight bout. Tickets for Winter Brawl are available online at CESFights.comMoheganSun.com, or at the Mohegan Sun Arena box office.

Gotti is no stranger to the limelight; the highly-touted MMA welterweight prospect made is professional debut in the cage at CES 46 in Rhode Island in October of 2017 and went on to win his first four bouts by first-round knockout. Inactive for two years due to the pandemic, Gotti made his pro boxing debut in October, beating Albert Tulley by unanimous decision at The Paramount in Huntington, NY.

January 21 marks Gotti’s long-awaited return to CES; he last fought for the promotion in October of 2020.

“We’re thrilled to welcome John Gotti III to the beautiful Mohegan Sun Arena and allow him to further showcase his talents inside the boxing ring,” said CES president Jimmy Burchfield Sr. “John is a tremendous athlete and a skilled, instinctive fighter. He’s risen to the occasion each time he’s been tested, whether it’s MMA or boxing. This is not an easy transition for any fighter to make, but I have no doubt John will be as successful in the ring as he’s been in the cage and he will soon be on everyone’s radar in the boxing community.

Winter Brawl is headlined by heavyweight “The Sicilian Nightmare” Juiseppe Cusumano (21-4, 19 KOs) facing “The Hungarian Hammer” Istvan Bernath (10-1, 8 KOs) in the 10-round main event and the long-awaited return of Stamford, CT, light middleweight Chordale Booker (17-1, 7 KOs) in an eight-round showcase against 37-fight veteran Angel Hernandez (17-17-3, 11 KOs).

SHOJGREEN EARNS ABO CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE WITH TKO VICTORY

Huntington, New York (October 2, 2022) – The Paramount was filled to the rafters last night as the opening bell rang for a thrilling night of action at Star Boxing’s Rockin’ Fights 43. The exciting card brought the action and drama as fans in attendance and those watching around the globe were treated to a fantastic night of professional boxing.

In the ABO Cruiserweight Title main event, it was a question of which style would reign supreme between the heavy-handed JOEL “SHOTGUN” SHOJGREEN (14-3 13KO’s) and the athletic, LYUBOMYR “DEMOLITION MAN” PINCHUK (14-4-1 8KO’s). This question was answered when Shojgreen landed a missile right hand that floored Pinchuk deep into the second minute of round one. Pinchuk rose at the count but was hobbled by an injury suffered to his right knee which seemed to buckle and land awkwardly when he fell. Shojgreen went into attack mode, but with Pinchuk both buzzed from the knockdown and unable to put pressure on his leg, Referee Al Lobianco stopped the action at 2:48 in the first round. With the TKO, Shojgreen secured a massive victory and the ABO Cruiserweight Title. Pinchuk was taken to the hospital for x-rays on his right knee, and all of us at Star Boxing wish him a speedy recovery.

In the co-feature, JOHN GOTTI III (1-0) made his highly anticipated pro debut against ALBERT TULLEY (0-2) in a 4 round light heavyweight bout. Gotti, who made the transition as a 5-1 professional MMA fighter, to the squared circle, impressed last night. From the opening bell, Gotti was deliberate and tactical with his offense. The raucous crowd was behind their man with every punch. At the close of the 4-rounds, Gotti earned the unanimous decision svictory in front of his home crowd (40-36 x3).

The trash talk was fast and fierce leading into the “RUTHLESS” RONNY REYES (2-0) vs TRAVIS “PRETTY BOY” CRAWFORD (0-2) and boy did it deliver. Reyes and Crawford absolutely threw down in their super featherweight bout. Both men were fearless in their pursuit of victory and had the crowd on their feet for almost the entirety of the 4-round bout. Reyes was more creative in his attacks, but Crawford refused to take a step back for the entirety of the fight. As the close fight came to the final bell, the crowd showered Reyes and Crawford with applause for their performance. Reyes received the majority decision victory (38-38 draw, 39-37 Reyes x2).

Also on the undercard, the light heavyweight rematch between “BE YOU” DEQUINT HILL (2-1) and LOU “IL MARTELLO” MAIETTA (1-3-1) went to the wire in yet another close fight. An accidental headbutt caused a cut under the right eye of Hill, but he would not allow it to affect him, as he kept Maietta at bay with his length and sticking jab. In the third round, Maietta rocked Hill and had him on unsteady legs, but wasn’t able to capitalize. At the close of the bout Hill secured the majority decision victory (38-38 draw, 40-36 Hill, 39-37 Hill).

Undefeated Queens super featherweight RAY “THE SCIENTIST” CUADRADO (5-0 1KO) opened the show against the very tough JOSEPH “THE JAGUAR” BROWN (3-5 1KO) over their 4-round super featherweight bout. Cuadrado was able to control the action from the jump and used his sharper boxing ability to foil any onslaught Brown tried to muster. Cuadrado secured the unanimous decision victory (40-36 x3).

Star Boxing CEO JOE DEGUARDIA had this to say about the night, “Rockin’ Fights delivered in every way. A sold-out crowd, exciting fights and action that had fans on their feet from the opening bell. Saturday night demonstrated the full essence of what we have built at the Paramount since 2011. Congratulations to all the fighters for delivering a thrilling show and thank you to everyone who came out to make last night a successful event.”
