FORT WORTH, Texas (Sept. 19, 2025) — A Texas Hold ’Em Showdown has been scheduled for the Ortiz vs. Lubin undercard on Saturday, Nov. 8, at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth and live worldwide on DAZN. The 12-round world championship main event, presented by Golden Boy Promotions in association with ProBox, features undefeated knockout artist and WBC interim super welterweight world champion Vergil Ortiz Jr. (23-0, 21 KOs), of Grand Prairie, Texas, facing fearless top contender Erickson “The Hammer” Lubin (27-2, 19 KOs), of Orlando, Florida. The DAZN broadcast is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. CT.

The newly announced undercard is sure to deliver an electric night of action that will keep fans on their feet. Ranked No. 1 by the WBA, No. 3 by the IBF and No. 6 by The Ring, Austin’s Floyd “Kid Austin” Schofield (19-0, 13 KOs) will return to the ring after a jaw-dropping knockout of Tevin Farmer in June, in a fight that lasted less than two minutes. He will face another Olympian and former world champion, Joseph “JoJo” Diaz Jr. (34-8-1, 15 KOs), of El Monte, California, in a 10-round lightweight co-main event. Diaz Jr. was last seen in a fight-of-the-year candidate against Regis Prograis on the Duarte vs. Sims Jr. undercard in August.

Fulghum was last seen in a tight, back-and-forth battle with Bektemir Melikuziev that did not go his way; Stevens defeated the tough Petr Khamukov in June via unanimous decision. Opening the DAZN broadcast, Olympian and blue-chip prospect Joshua “Rocket” Edwards (4-0, 4 KOs) will face Zeno Vooris (5-1, 5 KOs), of Las Vegas, in a six-round heavyweight contest.

(April 12, 2024) – In an already jam-packed doubleheader featuring Jose Ramirez vs. Rances Barthelemy and Vergil Ortiz Jr. vs. Thomas Dulorme scheduled for Saturday, April 27, Golden Boy announced today the collision course of the mighty Oscar “La Migraña” Duarte (26-2-1, 21 KOs) and U.S. Olympian and former world champion Joseph “JoJo” Diaz Jr. (33-5-1, 15 KOs) in a 10-round lightweight match. The decisive fight will feature two hungry title contenders who are looking to prove that they still have much to give to the sport. Parral, Mexico’s Duarte is coming back into the ring after a valiant dance with super lightweight world title contender Ryan Garcia last December; JoJo is coming off an upset split decision loss against Jesus Perez last February. On the preliminary card and making her highly anticipated professional debut, Jennah “The Gem” Creason of Visalia, California will make a splash in a four-round welterweight fight against a soon to be announced opponent. Jesus Perez Upsets Joseph Diaz Jr.

Jesus Perez scored a split decision over former world champion Joseph Diaz via 10-round split decision in a spirited super lightweight bout at the Commerce Hotel and Casino in Commerce, California,

In round five, Diaz was deducted a point for shoving Perez.

Perez landed 137 of 804 punches. Diaz was 188 of 471.

Perez won two cards 96-94 and a ridiculous 99-90 while Diaz won a card 95-94.

Perez, 138.2 lbs of Tijuana, MEX is 25-5. Diaz, 137.6 lbs of South El Monte, CA is 33-5-1.

“The work was shown tonight,” said Jesus Perez. “I – like all fighters – had to push through difficult times, but we were able to push through to be able to get the victory tonight. Despite being knocked down, Jorge Chavez won a six-round unanimous decision over veteran Diuhl Olguin in a featherweight bout.

In round one, Olguin dropped Chavez with a jab to the upper body. That was the only blemish for Chavez as he won by (somehow) 60-54 and 58-55 twice.

Chavez, 123.6 lbs of Tijuana, MEX is 10-0. Olguin, 124 lbs of Guadalajara, MEX is 16-35-7.

In a battle of undefeated lightweights, Joshua Garcia stopped Eric Lozada in the opening round of their four-round lightweight bout.

“I couldn’t be more excited to see female boxing taking off, it’s growing in the amateur ranks as well which is nothing but good news. The way female boxing is taking off in the pro ranks, I’m super excited about it and I couldn’t be happier.

“Jessica is a gamer; she’s going to come out to fight. I’m here to fight too, I’m not here for the experience, I’m here to win so expect fireworks on Saturday.

“It’s hard to put into words, like I said it’s something I’ve been dreaming about when I was ten years old so I’m rendered speechless already.”

Austin Williams

“First off I want to give thanks to everybody, Eddie Hearn, Matchroom, Churchill Boxing, we could have taken this time and only focused on my personal life, but my management company stepped in and made sure I elevated in my professional game as well.

“I’m blessed and thankful to coach Kevin Cunningham for taking me under his wing. A lot of coaches would know I was going through a hard time, and he could have easily said no I don’t want to deal with him, but he took me in, and we had the greatest camp I’ve ever had in my life. Shoutout to my sparring partners, they gave me the best work I’ve ever had and it’s a blessing to be here.

“A boxer’s life has a lot of pressure in it, we fight for our life, we do this to entertain everybody. It’s a lot of pressure and as you can see, people can turn on you from one day to the next, a fighter deals with a lot.

“It’s a good time and platform for me to speak out about mental health and let people know it’s a real thing, I also speak for my brothers who share the ring with me. Just be a person that really let’s people know what’s going on.

“Ammo is always exciting, always bringing fireworks and sometimes I can get ahead of myself. Now that we’re stepping into the higher levels like you mentioned, 2022 is going to be a bigger year for all of us, now we’re stepping into higher levels with more dangerous fighters I’ve got to be dangerous but safer – that’s where coach comes in. The knockouts are going to cleaner and more spectacular.”

Alexis Espino

“It’s crazy, it’s surreal honestly being here sitting in a venue where my whole life I looked up at being in a stage like this at the MGM. I’m more than ready, I’m excited.

“I’m excited, I feel like the better the opponent the better I’ll do, the more I get pushed the more I’ll do. I’m very excited to perform this Saturday because I know I’m going to look good.”

Marc Castro

“It’s been a great start, but it wasn’t too great because I got COVID a couple of times. I had some setbacks, but I’m blessed to be in this position. It’s all a part of God’s plan and now we’re here, first fight in the MGM and I’m grateful and blessed to be here.

“I’m a fighter so I stay in the gym, daily sacrifices everyday so that’s how I get the victories over these great fighters. They’re great too but I’m just better.

“It feels great to have the support this early in my career, it’s a testament to my family and the sacrifices I’ve made. I feel like the fanbase is growing every single day and it’s going to be a journey.”
