In a clash of undefeated super lightweights joining the lineup, San Diego’s own Daniel Morales (8-0, 5 KOs) will welcome Tijuana, Mexico’s Alejandro Garcia Quintana (6-0-1, 5 KOs) stateside for his first professional bout in the U.S. A product of San Diego’s rich boxing ecosystem, 22-year-old Morales returns to action following a two-year lay-off. Both fighters will be tested like never before, as each faces an undefeated opponent for the first time in their careers—setting the stage for a high-stakes showdown.

Another San Diego-born pugilist joins the fight card, as Angel Juan Estrada (12-1-1, 9 KOs) takes on San Jose, Calif., native Pedro Angel Cruz (5-6, 3 KOs). A 20-year veteran, Estrada has proven to be at the top of his game at 38. His last loss came in 2011, and on the strength of seven finishes, Estrada aims to put on a show for San Diego against Cruz, who notched his own knockout victory earlier this year. Lastly, San Diego’s Angel Ramirez gears up for his professional debut against Queretaro, Mexico’s Jose Antonio Sosa Reyna (1-0).

Previously announced, Julius “JuJu” Ballo (2-0), a standout amateur with 60 bouts, is set to co-headline following his statement win against seasoned veteran Juan Centeno, a fighter nearly a decade older with 40 more bouts. Now 2-0, the 2024 Golden Gloves champion faces Santa Ana’s Roman Reyes (6-1, 5 KOs) in a super featherweight clash. Following a breakout 2025, 25-year-old Mansour has quickly emerged as one of the lightweight division’s top prospects. Joining his cousin as co-headliner, Jonny Mansour (6-0, 2 KOs) is a lifelong fighter who began boxing at eight, compiling 140+ amateur wins, earning the No. 1 spot on Team USA, and serving as an Olympic alternate in 2020. A National Golden Gloves champion and San Diego State business student, Mansour now looks to take the next step on April 18 against William King (6-3-2, 3 KOs).

MANSOUR AND BALLO MAKE WAVES WITH UNPRECEDENTED OPEN WORKOUT ABOARD CITY CRUISES ADMIRAL HORNBLOWER AHEAD OF SD FIGHT NIGHT: FAMILY BUSINESS

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (April 2, 2026) – In what organizers are calling the first open workout of its kind in professional boxing, San Diego rising stars and cousins Jonny Mansour and Julius “JuJu” Ballo hosted over 500 guests aboard the City Cruises Admiral Hornblower on Tuesday, March 31. The up-and-coming boxing stars treated fans, media, and celebrity guests to a one-of-a-kind boxing workout experience set against the stunning backdrop of the downtown San Diego skyline and San Diego Bay to promote their upcoming SD Fight Night: Family Business event on Saturday, April 18, at the Frontwave Arena in Oceanside, Calif.

The unique on-the-water event drew a star-studded crowd that included NFL veterans Tony Jefferson, Andre Reed, Alshon Jeffery, Koa Misi, and Dez Patmon, all of whom turned out in support of the two undefeated San Diego prospects as they continue their ascent through the professional ranks. April 18 undercard fighters Angel Munoz, Frankie Garcia, Angel Estrada, John Ornelas, Daniel Morales, and Richard Fernandez also joined the workout, adding even more electricity to the already-buzzing nautical atmosphere.

“Having 500-plus people out on the water with us was something I’ll never forget,” said Mansour. “The energy was absolutely electric, and having NFL legends like Andre Reed and Alshon Jeffery there to show their support meant the world to me and JuJu. We’re bringing that same energy into April 18, and San Diego is going to see exactly why we built this event the way we did. The city has our back, and we’re going to deliver on fight night.”

“I’ve been to a lot of events, but nothing compares to what we experienced on that ship,” said Ballo. “Being out there on the water with the city behind us, surrounded by our community, that’s what G2G Promotions is all about. We’re building something special in San Diego. Everyone who came out Tuesday is going to want to be at Frontwave on April 18, because Jonny and I are going to put on a show that this city will be talking about for a long time.”

NEW: With momentum building, SD Fight Night: Family Business will be distributed throughout North America by Integrated Sports Media via all major cable outlets and DISH in the United States, as well as leading digital platforms including Bash.tv, PPV.com, TrillerTV, and Fubo. The PPV telecast begins at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, with the first bout of the evening at 5 p.m. PT.

“We are not here to do one show, we are here to build a real fight series in San Diego,” said Frontwave Arena CEO Josh Elias. “When you see what G2G pulled off on the Admiral Hornblower—bringing over 500 fans out on the water for a boxing workout like nothing the sport has seen—you understand exactly what they’re building here. The fact that G2G and Frontwave Arena are both promoters shows how serious we are. This is a long-term investment in the sport, the fighters, and the city. Frontwave Arena is going to be the home for this series, and we are all in on making San Diego a true boxing market again.”

Now with their first-of-its-kind promotional event in the books, Mansour and Ballo set their sights squarely on April 18 as a double main event. In a six-round super featherweight fight, JuJu Ballo (2-0), a 2024 Golden Gloves Champion, will square off against Santa Ana, Calif. native Roman Reyes (6-1, 5 KOs) in what promises to be another statement victory on home soil. Meanwhile, eight-time National Champion Jonny Mansour (6-0, 2 KOs) will take on William King (6-3-2, 3 KOs) in an eight-round lightweight match.

Oceanside, Calif. (March 20, 2026) – Frontwave Arena and G2G Promotions today announced the opponent for surging San Diego-born prospect Julius “JuJu” Ballo (2-0), as he prepares to co-headline SD Fight Night: Family Business with his cousin Jonny Mansour (6-0, 2 KOs) on Saturday, April 18 in Oceanside, Calif.

Touting an uber-successful amateur campaign that consists of 60 bouts, Julius “JuJu” Ballo made his professional debut at the world-famous Madison Square Garden Theater last year, dominating Brandan Ayala en route to a unanimous decision victory. In a sophomore outing further cementing his status as a future star, the 2024 Golden Gloves Champion faced Juan Centeno, a rugged veteran nearly ten years his senior and with 40 more professional fights than the young Southern Californian. SAN DIEGO’S BOXING STARS JULIUS BALLO AND JONNY MANSOUR TO HEADLINE THE INAUGURAL EDITION OF SD FIGHT NIGHT ON APRIL 18, 2026, AT FRONTWAVE ARENA

Oceanside, CA (February 23, 2026) – San Diego’s homegrown boxing prospects and cousins Julius Ballo and Jonny Mansour have showcased their pugilistic skills across the globe, and they will get the chance to headline their own event at home on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Frontwave Arena in Oceanside, Calif.

Co-promoted by Frontwave Arena and G2G Promotions, SD Fight Night: Family Business will be the inaugural event of a new boxing series bringing consistent, high-level boxing to the San Diego area.

Tickets for SD Fight Night: Family Business go on-sale Wednesday, Feb. 25with a special presale underway now at AXS.com. Broadcast details and additional fights will be announced shortly.

“I’m excited to headline SD Fight Night: Family Business. Fighting at home in San Diego for the first time makes this one different,” Ballo said. “Jonny and I grew up in this sport together, and now we get to share the stage and build something special for our city and make it a night that people won’t forget. This one is personal. It’s family, its legacy, and it’s going to be a show on April 18 at Frontwave Arena.”

Ballo’s father, Yasir “Jack” Ballo, introduced him to the sport as a youngster, and he soon fell in love with the sweet science. The Granite Hills High School alum enjoyed a storied amateur career, which included a Youth Pan American Games gold medal, three USA Boxing national championships, and a 2024 National Golden Gloves title. After just missing the chance to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games, Ballo decided to turn professional.

He entered the paid ranks on July 26, 2025, sweeping the scorecards in his pro debut at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Ballo added a second professional victory in December, scoring an impressive six-round victory on the Championing Mental Health card in Los Angeles, which caught the eye of many in the boxing world.

Ballo and Mansour were both members of USA Boxing’s national team and enjoyed the opportunity to navigate the amateur boxing scene together as they were coming up through the ranks. They have both amassed a prominent and loyal following both on and off social media, fueled largely by the Chaldean community that they proudly represent.

“Headlining in San Diego means everything to me,” Mansour said. “I was born and raised here, and this community helped shape who I am inside and outside the ring. To now share this moment with my cousin JuJu and build something together at Frontwave Arena is special. We’ve been grinding side by side since we were young amateur boxers on Team USA, and now it’s time to put San Diego on the map. Everybody you’ll see in attendance on April 18th is not just a fan or supporter, they’re family to me. I’m putting in the hard work, and I look forward to delivering a career-defining performance for my family around the world.”

Mansour has established himself as one of boxing’s most promising professional prospects. The 25-year-old lightweight is undefeated through six professional bouts, including two knockouts, after turning pro in 2024.

A graduate of Granite Hills High School in El Cajon who now resides in La Mesa, Mansour began boxing at just eight years old. He compiled more than 140 amateur victories, rising to become the top-ranked lightweight for Team USA and serving as an Olympic alternate during the 2020 Olympic cycle. A National Golden Gloves Champion, he represented the United States internationally while balancing his boxing career with studies in business and finance at San Diego State University’s Fowler College of Business. Known for his speed, ring IQ, and growing power, Mansour enters SD Fight Night as one of the rising names to watch in American boxing.

Frontwave Arena will provide the perfect home for the April 18 event and future SD Fight Night shows, highlighting the San Diego area as a boxing hub. The multi-purpose sports and entertainment venue opened in September 2024 and has quickly become a stage for world-class athletes and a community gathering place for fans across the region. Frontwave Arena’s partnership with G2G Promotions signals the venue’s intention to become the home of professional boxing in Southern California and create a platform in which fighters can build careers. Fans in attendance can experience the sport at the highest level.

“The vision for SD Fight Night is to bring professional boxing back to San Diego in a meaningful and consistent way. This city has a deep boxing legacy and a passionate fan base that has waited far too long for a true home for the sport,” said Frontwave Arena CEO Josh Elias. “Julius Ballo and Jonny Mansour represent the next generation of elite fighters, and there is no better way to launch SD Fight Night than with two athletes who embody the future of boxing in San Diego. April 18, 2026, will not be just another event, it is the start of something bigger. This is the beginning of a new tradition, and Frontwave Arena is proud to lead it.”

Zayas Decisions Garcia To Win WBO Junior Middleweight Title

NEW YORK– He turned pro at the age of 17. At 22, Puerto Rico’s chosen one became a champion.

Xander Zayas dominated Mexico’s Jorge Garcia by unanimous decision (116-112, 118-110, and 119-109) to win the WBO junior middleweight world title Saturday evening at The Theater at Madison Square Garden.

Garcia (33-5, 26 KOs), fueled by his upset win over Charles Conwell in April, launched toward Zayas (22-0, 13 KOs) with wildly thrown punches. Zayas evaded most shots, soon adjusting to a game plan of quick jabs to the body and occasional right hands.

Still, Garcia managed to drag Zayas into a fight, especially in the sixth as both went toe-to-toe with hooks in the center of the ring. But by the seventh and eighth, Zayas’ counterpunching began to wear down Garcia as he easily outboxed him in the championship rounds.

Zayas said, “Boxing 101. I had to box my way to victory. I knew that if I stood in front of him that I’d be fighting his fight. So, I did everything behind the jab. The jab was the key to victory, and we showed that today.

“This is a dream come true. This is beautiful. To see my Puerto Rican fans here, this is amazing. I could never dream of anything better than this.”

Emiliano Fernando Vargas Obliterates Espinoza in 1

Vargas, 139.6 lbs of Las Vegas is 15-0 with 13 knockouts. Espinoza, 139.4 lbs of Ecuador is 20-4-1.

EMILIANO FERNANDO VARGAS

“I’m just a Mexican kid trying to make it to the top. 26 years ago, my father fought here, and history repeats itself. If I could be half as great as my father was, I’ll make it a long way.”

“Top 15 in the world, 15-0… I’m coming for all the belts!”

“Alexander Espinoza is the most experienced fighter I’ve ever fought. I was ready for 15 rounds tonight. It’s a blessing that I got to do it so quick. They don’t pay me for overtime, though. I had to get it done fast. Like I said, I’m ready for top, elite competition. My skills are going to show through.”
