Najee Lopez Stops Gallegos in 8th Round of War

In a terrific back and forth fight, Najee Lopez remained undefeated as he fought through a cut and a knockdown to stop Manuel Gallegos in round eight of their 10-round light heavyweight bout at Oceana Heritage in Kissimmee, Florida.

In round two, Lopez was bleeding over the right eye from a headbutt.

In round seven, Lopez came out firing and landed a big right but it was Gallegos who landed a big right of his own that put Lopez on the deck. Seconds later another clash of heads opened up a cut under the right eye of Gallegos. In round eight, Lopez landed a hard left-right to the side of that head that rocked Gallegos and sent him reeling back. That was followed by about 10 flush punches that put Gallegos down from that hard flurry that forced referee Christopher Young to stop the bout at 2:41.

Lopez, 174.8 lbs of Ellenwood, GA is now 16-0 with 13 knockouts. Gallegos, 174.4 lbs of Los Mochis, MEX is 22-4-1.

“That just shows you I’m a true champion and I’m here to stay,” said an overjoyed Lopez, post-fight. I’m willing to prove it every time I step in the ring. He (Gallegos) was the best version of himself possible. I fought a true champion tonight. I’m not going to lie. That ring was small and he’s a big guy. I felt not only his shots; I let his presence. He came to win, but I showed I was there to win, too. It came down to nutrition and willpower. We both had a game plan, But I had more will.

“That’s a tough mf right there, continued Lopez. “Soon as I had him on the hook, I wasn’t going to let him off. That was 100% of a test and I feel like I passed it.”

Dominic Valle was in tough but won a hard fought 10-round unanimous decision over Eduardo Ramirez in a super featherweight bout.

In round seven, Valle was bleeding over his right eye from a headbutt.

Valle landed 152 of 591 punches. Ramirez landed 159 of 593.

Valle, 130.6 lbs of Lutz, FLA won by scores of 98-92 twice and 96-94 and is now 13-0. Ramirez, 130.8 lbs of Los Mochis, MEX is 29-6-3.

In a battle of undefeated light heavyweights, Dante Benjamin won an eight-round unanimous decision over Angel Lozano

In round one Lozano began to bleed from his nose.

Benjamin landed 155 of 493 punches. Lozano was 102 of 404.

Benjamin, 173.6 lbs of Cleveland won by scores of 80-72, 78-74 and 77-75 and is now 14-0-1, Lozano, 175.4 lbs of Pomona, CA is 8-1.

Delvin McKinley won a six-round majority decision over Christian Chessa in a super flyweight bout.

McKinley landed 95 of 327 punches. Chessa was 85 of 346.

McKinley, 115.4 lbs of New Orleans won by scores of 58-56 twice and 57-57 and is now 14-5-1. Chessa, 115.2 lbs of Lombardia, ITA is 6-1.

In round three, Chessa began to swell under his left eye. In round four. McKinley began to bleed from his mouth.

Kenyan Valle won a six-round unanimous decision over Anel Dudo in a super bantamweight bout.

Valle landed 86 of 404 punches. Dudo was 63 of 385.

Valle, 123.4 lbs of Lutz, FLA won by scores of 60-54 and 59-55 twice and is now 3-0. Dudo, 124.8 lbs of Aurora, CA is 4-7-1.




Cardenas Stops Robles in 5

Ramon Cadenas stopped Erik Robles in round five of a scheduled 10-round super bantamweight bout at The War Memorial in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

In round three, Cardenas landed a perfect counter right to the jaw that put Robles on the deck. In round five, Cardenas ducked under a left and landed another booming right on the chin that put Robles on his back and the fight was stopped at 1:21.

Cardenas, 124 lbs of San Antonio is now 27-2 with 15 knockouts. Robles, 123.6 lbs of Baja California, MEX is 16-4.

“The confidence I had in myself, I knew I could get him out of there. I’m not blowing smoke up my ass, but I knew I was at another level,” said Cardenas, post-fight. “I owe this performance to my new team. In training, I made sure I was focused when I was hitting the bag or even running. I used to catch myself dozing off. I learned to stay focused from my new trainers. I kept that in my head during the fight.

“I’m just finishing my work to become a world champion. I know Naoya Inoue and Junto Nakatani have their plans. I’d like the winner. I want a title shot against either/or. Conceicao Decisions Espadas

Hebert Conceicao won a 10-round unanimous decision over Elias Espadas in a middleweight bout.

In round 10, Conceicao landed a little shot that could have been a push, but Espadas went down for a knockdown.

Conceicao landed 264 of 682 punches. Espadas was 75 of 478.

Conceicao, 150.4 lbs of Salvador, BRA won by scores of 100-89 twice and 99-90 and is now 10-0. Esoadas, 160 lbs of Yucatan, MEX is 23-8-1.

Joeshon James won an eight-round makority decision over Yojanler Martinez in a super middleweight bout.

In round one, James landed a left hook that sent Martinez back on his heels and his glove touched the canvas for a knockdown. In round two, Martinez was docked a point for hitting behind the head. In round three, a rarity of a double knockdown where both guys landed a right hands that sent each other to the canvas. Martinez took the worst of it as James was up quickly and Martinez staggered all over the ring was allowed to continue.

James landed 99 of 530 punches. Martinez was 88 of 267.

James, 163 1/2 lbs of Sacramento, CA won by scores of 77-74, 77-73 and 75-75 and is 10-1-2. Martinez, 165 1/2 lbs of Las Vegas is 5-1-1.

Myquan Williams stopped George Rodriguez Pardo after round four of their eight-round welterweight bout.

In round two, Williams landed a little left that made Pardo drop his knee on the canvas for a knockdown. Williams continued to dominate and Williams corner stopped the fight after round four.

Williams, 141.6 lbs of Hartford, CT is 23-1-2 with 12 knockouts. Pardo, 145 lbs of Bogota, COL is 11-6.

Marlon Harrington scored an explosive first round stoppage over Bryan Polaco in an eight-round junior middleweight nout.

In round one, Harrington was cut over the left eye. At the end of the round, Harrington landed a huge but short right that landed perfectly on the chin that sent Polaco knocked on his back and the fight was immediately stopped at 2:53.

Harrington, 153,2 lbs of Detroit is 13-2 with 11 knockouts. Polaco, 153,2 lbs of San Juan is 7-1.

Kenyan Valle stopped Taran Ward in the opening round of their four-round super bantamweight fight.

In round one, Valle landed a perfect right to the jaw that knocked the mouthpiece of Ward and dropped him at the same time. Ward was hurt and Valle landed a big flurry that forced a referee stoppage just before the bell at 2:58.

Valle, 124.6 lbs of Lutz, FL is 2-0 with one knockout. Ward, 128 lbs of Saint Louis is 5-15.
