Freudis Rojas steps in to face Kevin Anton in battle of towering junior-middleweight southpaws, live on ProBoxTV, October 16, from Phoenix, Arizona
WBC No. 16-ranked Kevin Anton will defend his WBC Continental Americas junior-middleweight title against once-beaten Freudis “Freddy” Rojas in the 10-round main event of ProBoxTV’s next “Championship Series” event, broadcast live (8:00 pm ET/5:00 pm MT) on Friday, October 16, from the Rawhide Western Town & Event Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
With an injury in training sidelining original foe Yan Marcos, unbeaten 6-foot-3 southpaw Anton, 14-0 (12 KOs), a Guatemalan-American from Palmdale, California, will now face 6-foot-2 southpaw Rojas, 15-1 (11 KOs), of Houston via Las Vegas to top a card that also features WBC No. 5-ranked Justin Pauldo, 20-2, (10 KOs), facing WBO No. 11-ranked Rene Tellez Giron, 23-5 (14 KOs), in the 10-round lightweight co-main event.

A 2017 World Championships bronze medalist and 2020 Olympic Alternate as an amateur, 28-year-old Rojas turned professional in 2021 and stopped his first eleven professional opponents. 28-year-old Rojas has since gone the distance in his last five, going 4-1.
Against Anton, Rojas will be looking to get back into the win column after losing his last fight, a DAZN-televised 10-round unanimous decision to Mexican spoiler Damian Sosa in April of this year. Fighting for just the second time in two years, and the first time in over a year, an increasingly fatigued Rojas had no answers for Sosa’s relentless pressure and was knocked down in round six.
A rangy, long-armed boxer with good footwork and an excellent jab, Rojas is co-trained by his father, Freudis Rojas Sr., and Shakur Stevenson protegee Kay Koroma at the O to 100 Boxing Club in Houston.

A barber when not throwing leather in the ring, Anton’s family has roots in Huehuetenango, Guatemala. Proud of his heritage, the 28-year-old southpaw frequently walks to the ring for his fights waving the Guatemalan flag and calls himself “Americo-Chapin”.
In 2026, the Congress of the Republic of Guatemala officially honored him and Martínez with the Condecoración Soberano Congreso Nacional for representing the country with distinction.
Reminiscent of WBC 154lbs champion Sebastian Fundora with his 6-foot-3 stature and destructive, long-armed punching, Palmdale, California’s Anton will be making his fourth consecutive appearance on ProBoxTV and fighting in his first main event against Rojas.
WBC No. 16-ranked Anton was last seen handily defeating capable veteran Vladimir Hernandez by near-shutout scores of 100-90, 100-90, 99-91 in July.
