Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano is the first-ever Puerto Rican undisputed world champion and the most decorated fighter in women’s boxing history, recognized by the Guinness World Records for the most boxing world championships won by a female in different weight classes. Serrano, currently the unified featherweight champion holding the WBO, WBA and Ring Magazine titles, is Most Valuable Promotions’ first signee, who also signed the first ever lifetime combat sports contract with MVP and will become Chairwoman of MVP’s women’s boxing initiatives to lead the company’s efforts in identifying, signing, developing and marketing the promotion’s growing roster of female athletes post her in-ring retirement. Serrano faced off against Katie Taylor for the first time at Madison Square Garden in April 2022, making history as the first women’s fight to headline Madison Square Garden, earning global acclaim and winning Sports Illustrated’s Fight of the Year and The Ring’s Event of the Year for 2022. Taylor vs. Serrano was also nominated for Sports Business Journal’s Event of the Year, a testament to the global reach and power of the event. Following the historic bout, Serrano defeated Sarah Mahfoud and Erika Cruz en-route to becoming the undisputed featherweight champion. She successfully defended her undisputed title in August 2023 against Heather Hardy before making history again, defeating Danila Ramos in October 2023 in the first-ever women’s unified world championship contested over 12 three-minute rounds—equal to a men’s championship fight. She threw a career-high 1,103 punches in the bout, solidifying her status as a trailblazer for gender equality in boxing. In recognition of her achievements inside and outside the ring, Serrano was named the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) Female Fighter of the Year for 2023, as well as Sports Illustrated’s and Boxing Scene’s 2023 Women’s Fighter of the Year. She continued her dominance in July 2024, scoring a second-round knockout victory over Stevie Morgan in a super lightweight bout.

Serrano went on to face Katie Taylor in the most anticipated women’s boxing rematch in modern history in the co-main event of MVP’s Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson card on Netflix in November 2024. The undisputed super lightweight title fight averaged 74 million live viewers globally and became the most-watched professional women’s sports event in US history with 47 million AMA in the US. The bout ended in a razor-thin decision victory for Taylor, sparking global debate and skyrocketing Serrano’s social following to over 1.2 million. #Serrano also trended at #2 on X in the US, Brazil, Spain, and Canada post-fight, further cementing her status as a global icon. Serrano then faced Taylor a third and final time atop an all-women’s event at Madison Square Garden, commanding the world’s attention once again on Netflix, continuing to break barriers for women in combat sports with a historic trilogy. Serrano made her long-awaited homecoming to Puerto Rico in a unified featherweight title defense of her WBO and WBA featherweight titles in January 2026, defeating challenger Reina Tellez.

“When MVP told me that Han and Holm were going to rematch in Stephanie’s home town of El Paso, I said I want to get on the card to support these two queens,” said Amanda Serrano. “Women’s boxing is growing on a global level, and fights like this, now on ESPN and contested in three-minute rounds, are proof of how far we’ve come. I respect every opponent who steps in the ring, and I know Hanson is coming to win and she has KO power. I’m also continuing to hunt the all-time knockout record, so that’s always on my mind, but everything starts with discipline, execution, and performing at the highest level on fight night. Stephanie Han is all class, and it is my pleasure to come to her city and make the walk before her on Saturday, May 30th. See you soon El Paso.”

Cheyenne “Pepper” Hanson is a hard-hitting 28-year-old German professional boxer from Augsburg, Bayern. The orthodox fighter, nicknamed “Pepper,” has established herself as one of Germany’s top female talents with an impressive 76% knockout ratio. Hanson is a former WBF world champion and currently the #4 WBO and #6 WBA contender in the featherweight division. Known for her aggressive style and knockout power, Hanson has collected her latest two wins by TKO in December 2025 and March 2026. Hanson signed with MVP in April 2026, and will now face Amanda Serrano in her promotional debut.

“I’m really excited and grateful for this fight,” said Cheyenne Hanson. “It means a lot to be representing Germany on this stage. Training camp is going to be hard but I’m focused. I respect my opponent, but I’m coming to make a statement.”

“MVPW-03 is absolutely stacked as we deliver a quadruple world championship card, highlighted by the highly anticipated ESPN debut of Amanda Serrano,” said Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul, co-founders of MVP. “Amanda continues to set the global standard for women’s boxing, and matching her in a title defense against a dangerous knockout artist like Cheyenne Hanson creates a blockbuster double main event alongside Stephanie Han vs. Holly Holm. This is a powerful statement about where women’s boxing stands today. Add in the return of Desley Robinson and the expected war in the Mexico vs. Costa Rica matchup between Lourdes Juarez and Yokasta Valle, and this night is going to be fireworks in El Paso.”

Unified middleweight world champion Desley “Destroyer” Robinson has emerged as one of Australia’s top boxing talents. Originally stepping into the ring to improve her fitness, Robinson quickly proved she belonged at the elite level. Following over 50 amateur fights that saw her capture multiple Queensland and Australian titles, Robinson turned pro and earned her first title shot in just her seventh pro fight, resulting in a narrow majority decision loss against Lani Daniels in December 2023. Just one year later, Robinson rebounded in heroic fashion, fighting through a fractured foot to capture the vacant IBF female middleweight title with a unanimous decision over Kaye Scott in December 2024. She returned to the ring in April 2025 to unify the division, successfully defending her IBF belt and winning the vacant WBO title with a dominant performance against Chloe Chaos. Robinson, who fights out of Logan City, Queensland by way of Maranbah, Queensland, Australia, most recently defeated challenger Logan Holler by second round TKO in her promotional debut on MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects 16 Championship Double Header in October. She is also a single mother of three children.

“I am so excited to be part of MVPW-03, after watching MVPW-01 on the weekend,” said Desley Robinson. “I cannot wait to get back in there. I need a big win on a big stage against a big opponent and that is what I’m going to do. I can’t wait to get back over to Texas again. It is a privilege to be on the undercard to two great champions in Stephanie Han and Holly Holm.”

Windsor, Ontario native and a proud member of the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation, Mary Spencer is known for her physically imposing style, strong inside game and pressure fighting, all while serving as a leader and pioneer for Indigenous and Canadian women in boxing. As an amateur, she was widely regarded as the face of women’s amateur boxing in Canada. Her legendary career saw her become a 3x world champion, Pan American Games gold medalist, a multiple-time Canadian National Champion, and a 2012 Canadian Olympian. In September 2024, Spencer defeated Naomi Mannes by unanimous decision to win the interim WBA super welterweight title. She was then elevated to a full champion after the title was  vacated, and she made her first defense against Ogleidis Suárez in April 2025, winning by unanimous decision. Spencer most recently faced Mikaela Mayer in a title unification bout, putting her WBA title on the line alongside the then-vacant WBO and WBC super welterweight titles in October 2025 – a battle that went the distance and saw Mayer earn the decision win. Spencer remains focused on capturing and defending world titles while continuing to represent Canada and her Indigenous heritage on the global stage.

“I didn’t come this far to admire champions. Respect yes. Admire no! I came to take everything they have,” said Mary Spencer. “Belts don’t intimidate me. They motivate me. But on fight night, it’s not about rankings, records, or titles. It’s about who’s willing to go to a darker place. And I promise you… I live there.”

Lourdes “La Pequeña Lulu” Juarez is a two-division world champion from Mexico City. The younger sister of Mexican legend Mariana “La Barby” Juarez, she is part of one of only a few sister pairs in history to become boxing world champions, alongside the Serrano and Bermúdez sisters, and her sister Patty is also a world champion in bare-knuckle boxing. Turning pro in 2013, Juarez went undefeated for eight years, capturing the WBC super flyweight world title in December 2020 and making three successful defenses before regaining championship status in November 2024 by moving down to 108lbs to win the then-vacant WBC light flyweight crown. Ranked #2 in the world at 108 pounds by ESPN, she has faced six former world champions, balanced motherhood to her two sons, Dominik and Derek, and also trains and mentors new talent at her gym in Mexico City. She has also showcased her versatility with an exhibition win in Miami over Dutch MMA fighter Isis Verbeek. Juarez successfully defended her title in March 2025 by 9th round TKO before her latest successful defense against Yesica Nery Plata in October 2025.

“This will be a great war,” said Lourdes Juarez. “I won’t give away my belt, no way. I’m preparing for the fight of my life. I won’t go down. I don’t believe in good luck. I will go out there blasting.”

Yokasta Valle is a three-division world champion boxer born in Nicaragua and raised in Costa Rica. Growing up with limited resources and countless challenges in San Jose, Yokasta learned early on that nothing is given, and everything is earned. In a sport historically dominated by men, she carved her own path and fought to open doors for women in boxing. She won her first world title in 2016 and has gone on to conquer six world titles across three weight divisions, establishing herself as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world. She currently has held the WBC minimumweight title at 105lbs since November 2024. Valle has also championed equal pay in women’s boxing, fighting for and achieving the same purse conditions as male boxers. Outside the ring, the 32-year-old is an entrepreneur, boxing promoter, and social role model. In 2023, she was recognized by the United Nations as their Costa Rica Champion for the example she set in the fight for women’s and migrants’ rights. Valle is currently BoxRec and Ring Magazine’s and ESPN’s #9-ranked pound-for-pound boxer in the world.

“I’ve always wanted the biggest challenges and to fight the best. Moving up in weight to challenge a champion for her title is exactly the kind of opportunity that motivates me. This is a big challenge, just like every important fight I’ve had in my career, but I always prepare myself 200% to give everything I have in the ring,” said Yokasta Valle. “I know it’s going to be a war, because fighting a Mexican always means heart, toughness, and a great battle. I’ve already faced 12 or 13 Mexican fighters in my career, so I know exactly what kind of challenge they bring. I’ve been preparing in Mexico with my team, led by Panda, Jay Najar, and that gives me a lot of confidence going into this fight. I believe Lulu Juárez is the best Mexican fighter right now, so this is a huge test for me. Champion versus champion. That’s what women fighters always want, to face the best, and that is what makes women’s boxing even bigger. The opportunity to win my seventh world title motivates me in a special way, because I want to prove that I am the best.”

Mayer Decisions Spencer to Become Unified 154 lb. Champion

Mikaela Mayer won the WBA/WBC/WBO super welterweight titles with a 10-round unanimous decision over Mary Spencer at Montreal Casino in Montreal, Canada.

Mayer was the more active fighter as she came out from the opening bell unleashing heavy combinations. She seemed to do that round after round with the bigger Spencer landing some good shots but they were one at a time. Mayer, who was a champion at 130, 135 (interim) and is currently the WBO Welterweight title adds more hardware to her trophy case as she won by scores of 100-90 and 98-92 twice.

Mayer, 151 lbs of Colorado Springs, CO is 22-2. Spencer, 152.8 lbs of Montreal is 10-3.

“Usually, I’m the taller fighter. But because I’m the taller fighter, I also know how to beat me. And it’s never good when you’re the taller fighter and you let the other fighter get underneath.”

“So, I knew I had to come up underneath Mary Spencer and just come over the top with the big hooks. That’s what we trained for, and you saw me towards the last three rounds of the fight, really landing those big right and left hooks to the head.”

“I think the most important thing is I have options. That’s great in boxing. You always want options. I came off two years where my career kind of took a left turn. I had to navigate my way back to this position. So having options is definitely a blessing.”

“I’ll have to go back and go over things my team. I would love to defend both belts. I can go back to 147, become undisputed there, and maybe come back up and defend at 154.”

“I think I’m a natural 147-pounder. Mary Spencer is a strong, solid opponent. Props to her. She didn’t have to take this fight. She took a big risk taking on a fighter like me. And I always come forward and put on tough fights, so props to her.”

“She’s a heavy-handed girl. And 154 is different. But I think that was a great experience for me, and I can do both. I can do both, so we’ll have to see what is the best option we have.”

In an entertaining super middleweight bout, Wilens Mathieu won a 10-round unanimous decision over Shakeel Phinn.

In round three, Mathieu rocked Phinn with a hard right and then dropped Phinn with a right to the head.

Mathieu had Phinn in trouble several more times, but Phinn hung in there and was able to back up Mathieu and make the fight interesting, but it was noy enough as Mathieu won by scores of 99-90 and 98-91 twice.

Mathieu, 167.8 lbs of Montreal is 15-0. P

Arthur Biyarslanov remained undefeated with a 10-round unanimous decision over former world champion Sergey Lipinets in a junior welterweight bout.

Biyarslanov, 139.7 lbs of Toronto won by scores of 99-90,97-92 and 96-93 and is now 20-0. Lipinets, 139.6 lbs of Woodland Hills, CA is 18-5-1.

In round four, Lipinets began to bleed from his forehead

In round three, Biyarslanov landed a straight left that put Lipinets on his back.

Christopher Guerrero won an 10-round unanimous decision over Williams Andres Herrera in a welterweight bout.

Guerrero, 146.9 lbs of Montreal won by scores of 99-91, 98-92 and 97-93 and is now 16-0. Herrera, 146.3 lbs of Argentina is 17-10.

Mary Spencer vs. Mikaela Mayer: High-Caliber Clash in Montreal

This Thursday, October 30, women’s boxing will take center stage for a historic night at the Cabaret du Casino de Montréal, where Canada’s own Mary Spencer (10-2, 6 KOs) will defend her WBA super welterweight world title (154 lbs) against American star Mikaela Mayer (21-2, 5 KOs).

At 40 years old, Ontario native Spencer will make the second defense of her WBA belt—and her first as the regular champion—after claiming the title in April with a victory over Ogleidis Suárez. Known for her power, reach, and Olympic pedigree, Spencer enters as the established queen of the division, boasting both physical advantages and home turf. Her style blends sharp distance control with the ability to close strong in exchanges.

For this camp, Spencer went back to her roots. The Canadian conducted most of her training between Detroit and her hometown of Windsor, just as she did before her last fight, once again teaming up with her longtime coach, Karo Ro.

Mayer, 35, is no stranger to world championship gold. The former unified champion will be chasing her first belt under the WBA banner. Coming off back-to-back wins over Sandy Ryan, the American moves up in weight brimming with ambition and confidence. Her technical skillset, movement, and high punch volume could be key assets in neutralizing Spencer’s strength and pressure.

History in Montreal — Mary Spencer vs Mikaela Mayer for the Unified Junior Middleweight Championship is All Set for Thursday Night!

In less than 24 hours, WBA super-welterweight world champion Mary Spencer (10-2, 6 KOs) will defend her title against pound-for-pound great Mikaela Mayer (21-2, 5 KOs). With the vacant WBC and WBO world titles also on the line, three of the four major belts will be contested — a first in the history of women’s boxing in Quebec!

“Mikaela Mayer has a fan-friendly style… so I can’t wait to hit her,” said Canadian olympian Mary Spencer during the event’s final press conference.

“There are lots of big fights ahead of me, but the number one goal right now is to put on a great performance, show everyone that even though I’m the smaller fighter, skills pay the bills. Size doesn’t win fights, skill does,” added U.S. olympian Mikaela Mayer.

For the co-main event, young sensation Wilkens Mathieu (14-0, 10 KOs) will look to take his career to the next level in a local showdown – with two titles at stake – against Quebec veteran Shakeel Phinn (27-3-2, 17 KOs).

“I won’t let the judges rob me of the victory — I’m here to seek and destroy,” vowed Brossard’s own Shakeel Phinn.

“I don’t think Shakeel realizes who I am. I’m young, not that experienced… but I’m way more talented than him and better in every way. He’ll find out on Thursday,” responded 20-year-old Wilkens Mathieu.

Spencer vs Mayer
EIGHT TITLES ON THE LINE
On the undercard, former world champion Sergey Lipinets (18-4-1, 13 KOs) will arrive in Montreal looking to snatch the NABF super-lightweight title from Canadian Olympian Arthur Biyarslanov (19-0, 16 KOs).

Light-heavyweight and welterweight contenders Mehmet Unal (13-0, 11 KOs) and Christopher Guerrero (15-0, 9 KOs) will also defend their respective WBC Continental Americas titles, while EOTTM prospects Thomas Chabot (11-0, 8 KOs) and Erik Israyelyan (2-0, 2 KOs) will open the show in the two first bouts of the evening.

Press Conference Notes: Mary Spencer & Mikaela Mayer Battle for Three Super Welterweight World Titles

MONTREAL, Canada (Oct. 28, 2025) — Two-weight queen Mikaela Mayer looks to conquer a third weight class on enemy soil.

Mayer will challenge Canadian fan favorite Mary Spencer for the WBA super welterweight world title this Thursday, Oct. 30, at Montreal Casino in Montreal, Canada. The vacant WBC and WBO belts will also be up for grabs in this newly minted three-title showdown.

Mayer (21-2, 5 KOs) is the current WBO champ at welterweight, defeating Sandy Ryan via majority decision in September 2024 before securing a more decisive triumph in March’s rematch. Spencer (10-2, 6 KOs), a 2012 Olympian, defended her title in April with a unanimous decision over former world champion Ogleidis Suarez.

Promoted by Eye of the Tiger and Top Rank, Spencer-Mayer and select undercard bouts will stream on Top Rank Classics in the U.S. beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Top Rank Classics is free and available on major FAST hubs.

At Tuesday’s press conference, this is what the main event fighters said:

Mary Spencer

“I saw the odds. I know that I’m the underdog according to the bookies, but I mean, they get it wrong often. I don’t feel like an underdog. I feel like this fight is a gift.”

“I know where I’m at as far as training, where I’m at in my life, and I felt even before this fight was matched that the next opponent was going to be in trouble, whoever that was. And now the situation is even more exciting because it’s Mikaela, because of the style that she brings.”

“I get to be here at home. I get to really show a hometown crowd my best, and I’m very excited for that.”

“I think the key to victory is going to be me staying comfortable and being myself in the ring, and just being calm.”

Mikaela Mayer

“I’m really happy to be back here in Canada. I haven’t fought in Canada since my amateur days, back when I first learned of Mary Spencer. It’s great to be back.”

“I have a big job to do on Thursday night. It’s always been my goal in this sport to go and search out the best fights possible, the biggest names possible.”

“I’ve had a great career so far. I did my thing at 130. I moved up to 147 and became a champion there, but my goal is to go undisputed. I couldn’t get that undisputed fight against Lauren Price at 147, so my goal is to find the next best challenge for me. And when Mary Spencer’s name came up, I said, yep, let’s go to 154. Let’s take that challenge.”

“She’s a worthy opponent. She’s done a lot in the sport. You know, I remember her name from back in the day. She was the it girl back in the amateurs, so those are the type of names I want to add to my resume, and we got the fight done, so I’m happy to be here.”

“I plan on getting my hand raised Thursday night, becoming a three-division world champion, and then me and my team will decide what we’ll do from there.”

“There are lots of big fights ahead of me, but the number one goal right now is to put on a great performance, show everyone that even though I’m the smaller fighter, skills pay the bills. Size doesn’t win fights, skill does.”

“So, that’s what I’m going to do Thursday night. I’m going to trust my corner and trust the game plan that we have. It was a really long camp. We put in a lot of work in, so I’ll be ready to put on a great show for you guys.”

Top Rank Classics is free and available on major FAST hubs.

Mayer (21-2, 5 KOs) is the reigning WBO welterweight world champion, a title she won last September with a majority decision over British standout Sandy Ryan. She defeated Ryan by unanimous decision in March’s rematch, authoring a career-defining victory against her heated rival. Spencer (10-2, 6 KOs), a 2012 Olympian and three-time World Championships gold medalist as a Team Canada amateur standout, made the first defense of her championship in April with a unanimous decision over former world champion Ogleidis Suarez.

The Top Rank Classics stream is also scheduled to include the following bouts:

Wilkens Mathieu (14-0, 10 KOs) vs. Shakeel Phinn (27-3-2, 17 KOs), WBC Continental Americas & NABF Super Middleweight Titles

Seven Fights and Six Titles on the Line on October 30!

MONTREAL, September 19, 2025 — The stakes will be high — from start to finish — on October 30 at the Casino de Montréal. In addition to the WBA super welterweight world title fight between Mary Spencer and Mikaela Mayer, and the NABF and WBC Continental Americas super middleweight titles between Wilkens Mathieu and Shakeel Phinn, five other bouts — including three more title fights — will take place on the undercard.

First, three-time top-15 world contender Arthur ‘The Wolf’ Biyarslanov (19-0, 16 KOs) will make the 4th defense of his NABF super lightweight title against what’s expected to be his biggest test to date, former world champion Sergey ‘Samurai’ Lipinets (18-4-1, 13 KOs).

“Lipinets is as tough as they come, a veteran who’s seen it all, a former world champion. But that’s exactly what makes this fight exciting: experience versus hunger, the old lion against the young hungry wolf. Arthur wants to prove he’s ready to hunt with the big dogs, and this fight will show the world just that,” said Canadian Olympian Biyarslanov’s coach, Samuel Décarie-Drolet.

Also in action, Olympian and top-15 contender Mehmet Unal (13-0, 11 KOs) will make his first defense of the WBC Continental Americas light heavyweight title, in what’s expected to be an explosive matchup against Ralfs ‘The Train’ Vilcans (18-2, 7 KOs).

“Vilcans is a very solid technician who’s also extremely durable, as shown in the tough fight he gave Anthony Yarde! For Mehmet, this will be a real test to see where he stands among the elite of the division,” said Unal’s head coach and EOTTM’s director of development, Marc Ramsay.

In the first of five title fights that night, Montreal’s Christopher ‘Machine Gun’ Guerrero (15-0, 9 KOs) will defend his WBC Continental Americas welterweight title for the second time this year, against the opponent he was initially scheduled to face last June: brawler Williams Andres Herrera (17-4, 7 KOs). A tough fighter from La Calera, Argentina, Herrera has previously won the IBF Latino title. Along the way, he gave tough fights to Josh Wagner, Paddy Donovan, and more recently, Pat McCormack, with whom he went the distance in England. However, Guerrero is determined to send a message — to the boxing world, and to his opponent.

“I am planning to show that this year is mine to take. I want a top-5 ranking sooner than later and I think this fight — plus how decisively I am going to win it  will inch me closer than ever to the top of the division,” said Christopher Guerrero, currently ranked 19th by the WBC at 147 lbs.

Also on the card, two super featherweight matchups between four undefeated boxers. In an 8-round bout, Thetford Mines’ own Thomas ‘The Ghost’ Chabot (11-0, 8 KOs) returns to face Canadian lightweight champion Logan ‘The Toon Toon Terror’ Clouthier (6-0, 4 KOs). Then, kicking off the night in a 4-rounder, EOTTM’s prospect and junior amateur world champion Erik Israyelyan (2-0, 2 KOs) will put his perfect record on the line against Calgary prospect Dylan Schroeder (6-0, 4 KOs).

Double Headliner in Montreal: Spencer vs Mayer and Mathieu vs Phinn!

MONTREAL, August 29, 2025 — There will be two main events at the Casino de Montréal on October 30. WBA super-welterweight world champion Mary Spencer will face American two-division world champion and pound-for-pound great Mikaela Mayer in one of the most significant women’s boxing matches ever held in Canada. Then, in a high-stakes local clash with two titles on the line, young sensation Wilkens Mathieu will take on Quebec warrior Shakeel Phinn in a highly anticipated super-middleweight clash.

“Last year, Mikaela Mayer headlined at Madison Square Garden. This fall, she’ll be here at the Casino de Montréal. That proves Quebec boxing belongs in the big leagues — and that Mary Spencer doesn’t back down from adversity. Her world title is on the line that night, and I have no doubt she’s ready to go to war to keep it,” said Eye of the Tiger president Camille Estephan.

“Never in a thousand years did I think I’d get the chance to fight Mikaela Mayer. I’ve followed her career a lot, and as a fan, I love her style — but what excites me most is that our styles mesh so well that this will be a truly memorable fight. Saying I’m excited is an understatement, and I hope the fans are too, because this will be epic,” promised world champion Mary Spencer.

A Canadian Olympian at the London Games and a three-time amateur world champion, Montreal-based Mary Spencer (10-2, 6 KOs) has developed into a top-level pro. Last September, she won the WBA super-welterweight world title against Germany’s Naomi Mannes. This past April, she successfully defended it by dominating former two-time world champion Ogleidis Suarez over 10 rounds, despite a serious hand injury. Now fully recovered, Spencer is more determined than ever to win her third straight world title fight.

Across the ring, Mikaela Mayer (21-2, 5 KOs), will be in the unusual position of challenger. An Olympian at the Rio Games, the Top Rank-promoted native of Los Angeles has held the WBO, IBF, and The Ring super featherweight titles. She later moved up to lightweight, capturing the interim WBC title, and in September 2024, won the WBO welterweight world title at The Theater at Madison Square Garden with a hard-fought majority decision over Sandy Ryan. She defended that belt in March, topping Ryan by unanimous decision in their rematch.

“I couldn’t get the undisputed fight with Lauren Price, so rather than take an easy touch, I looked for the next best challenge,” Mikaela Mayer said. “Beating Mary Spencer at 154 pounds will make me a three-division world champion, and although I may be on the smaller side, I have the necessary skills and experience. I’ll dethrone Mary and then head back down to welterweight to challenge Price. I will be stronger, sharper, and better than ever.”

While the Spencer vs. Mayer bout features two established champions, the Wilkens Mathieu (14-0, 10 KOs) vs. Shakeel Phinn (27-3-2, 17 KOs) clash will feature two fighters with something to prove.

“This is clearly the biggest test of my career — but that doesn’t mean I’ll be tested,” said a confident Wilkens Mathieu, a rising EOTTM star and Ring Magazine ambassador. “People always say boxing is about levels, and on September 30, I’m going to show everyone — including Shakeel Phinn — that he’s not on mine.”

“People think this will be a tough fight, but for Wilkens it’ll look easy. Expect a highlight-reel KO on October 30,” added his trainer, Montreal’s Giuseppe Moffa. Mathieu will fight for the NABF and WBC Continental Americas super-middleweight titles.

But being the underdog has never intimidated Shakeel Phinn. In May 2024, “The Jamaican Juggernaut” stepped into the ring at the Casino de Montréal against another undefeated EOTTM fighter, Erik Bazinyan. Despite being a heavy 8-to-1 underdog, Phinn shocked everyone by fighting to a draw — a result he believes should have gone in his favor. Determined not to leave anything to the judges this time, Phinn returns to the Casino with a clear mission.

Also on the October 30 card, three other champions will be in action. Top-10 super-lightweight contender Arthur Biyarslanov (19-0, 16 KOs) will make his fourth NABF title defense. Top-15 light heavyweight contender Mehmet Unal (13-0, 11 KOs) will defend his WBC Continental title for the first time, and top-20 welterweight contender Christopher Guerrero (15-0, 9 KOs) will make his second defense of the WBC Continental title. Fan favorite Thomas Chabot (11-0, 8 KOs) will also return to action, while rising junior amateur world champion Erik Israyelyan (2-0, 2 KOs) will look to keep his flawless record intact.

Tickets for the #SpencerMayer event — also featuring the #MathieuPhinn bout — are on sale now via Ticketmaster (HERE). Photos from recent fights of Mary SpencerWilkens Mathieu, and the EOTTM undercard boxers for the October 30 card at the Casino de Montréal are also available (HERE).

Asanau, Spencer, and Guerrero: Three Championship Fights on April 10 in Montreal!

MONTRÉAL, March 7, 2025 — April 10 at the Cabaret du Casino de Montréal will be a night of firsts. For the first time as the main event, Dzmitry Asanau will defend his Continental Americas title, Mary Spencer will make her first world title defense, and Christopher Guerrero will compete in the first championship fight of his career. Kicking off the night, Canadian Olympic medalist Wyatt Sanford and junior amateur world champion Erik Israyelyan will make their highly anticipated professional debuts.

Leading the charge, WBC Continental Americas lightweight champion Dzmitry Asanau will defend his title for the first time in his debut as a main event, taking on former European champion Francesco Patera. The event, starting at 6:30 p.m., will be broadcast live on Punching Grace and ESPN+.

“It’s exciting to defend my belt for the first time because it represents my continued rise in the division. It’s also a true privilege to do so as the main event of a gala. I want to thank my team for believing in me, and I plan to reward EOTTM’s fans in attendance on April 10 with a great performance,” said the two-time Olympian and 14th-ranked contender in the world, Dzmitry Asanau.

Back in November, the Belarusian-born and UAE-adopted fighter Dzmitry Asanau (9-0, 4 KOs) claimed the WBC Continental Americas title in style, stopping Argentine puncher Matias Rueda in the fifth round—a performance voted “Fight of the Night” by fans. However, on April 10, the man nicknamed “The Wasp” will face a seasoned road warrior known for pulling off upsets abroad.

Francesco Patera (30-5, 11 KOs) won the Belgian national title in 2015 and has since found success on the international stage. In 2017, he shocked Edis Tatli in Finland to become European champion. The following year, he handed England’s Lewis Ritson his first career loss in the UK to reclaim the European title. After three successful defenses and winning the WBO Intercontinental and WBO Global titles, he faced current super lightweight world champion Keyshawn Davis. To this day, Patera remains one of the few fighters to have gone the distance with the American sensation. A victory over Patera could be a defining moment for Asanau, as Davis found himself in a world championship fight less than 20 months after facing the Belgian fighter.

In the co-main event, WBA welterweight world champion Mary Spencer (9-2, 6 KOs) will defend her title against experienced Venezuelan Ogleidis Suarez (31-5-1, 15 KOs), who will be aiming for her third world title in a third weight class. This fight was originally scheduled as the co-main event on March 14 before an injury led to the cancellation of the event.

“The date has changed, but the goal remains the same. The bad news for my opponent is that I’ll be even better prepared on April 10,” said Canadian Olympian Mary Spencer, who is now training in Windsor under former world champion Kara Ro.

On the undercard, world contender Christopher Guerrero (13-0, 8 KOs) will fight in his first-ever championship bout this spring against hard-hitting Mexican Oliver Quintana (22-3, 16 K.-O.). Already ranked 15th by the IBF at welterweight, the charismatic Montreal fighter will have the chance to break into a second top-15 ranking as he competes for the WBC Continental Americas title.

“Honestly, I screamed when I found out. I pushed my coach Giuseppe Moffa, jumped into Marc Ramsay’s arms, and nearly broke everything in the office! Fighting for a title is a dream come true, but the ultimate goal is a world championship, so get used to seeing me with belts around my waist in the coming years. I’m already in the top 15, but the real climb starts on April 10,” said Christopher “Machine Gun” Guerrero.

Originally scheduled for March 14, Quebec-based super lightweight prospect Jhon Orobio (12-0, 11 KOs) will face the toughest test of his young career. Selected as one of The Ring Magazine’s “Rookies of the Year,” “El Tigre” will take on veteran Argentine Sebastian Aguirre (19-6, 12 KOs) in an eight-round fight. Aguirre is well known to local boxing fans, having fought 27 rounds in Quebec against Luis Santana, Steve Claggett, and Mazlum Akdeniz.

Nicknamed “King Cogne,” Alexandre Gaumont (12-0, 8 KOs) will also face a tough test on April 10. The pride of Buckingham will go head-to-head with France’s Mathis Lourenco (13-5-3, 6 KOs) in an eight-round bout. Lourenco, a former French champion, has proven his competitiveness in every outing, including a draw against Marseille’s Bruno Surace, an undefeated fighter who shocked the boxing world by knocking out Jaime Munguia last December.

In another scheduled eight-round fight, EOTTM’s 2025 Prospect of the Year, Moreno Fendero (9-0, 7 KOs), will make his second appearance of the year.

Another highly anticipated debut for Canadian boxing fans: Wyatt Sanford, bronze medalist at the last Olympic Games and the first Canadian to reach the podium in nearly 30 years, will also make his professional debut. The pride of Kennetcook, Nova Scotia, joined EOTTM last January, but on April 10, he will officially step into the professional ranks.

“I’m super excited to continue doing what I love most, now as a professional. Fans can expect to same calm but aggressive presence in the ring that brought me success in Olympic boxing,” said Wyatt Sanford, EOTTM’s newest recruit.

Finally, Quebec fans will also get their first look at Erik Israyelyan, who will make his professional debut on April 10. Signed in 2023, the 21-year-old Armenian recently moved to Montréal. With his new team, led by Samuel Décarie-Drolet, the junior amateur world champion is ready to begin his quest for a professional title.

“He’s a pressure fighter with power and explosiveness! Some fans may even find that his style resembles that of former world champion Leonard Dorin,” said Samuel Décarie-Drolet, whose protégé will compete in the super lightweight division.

Tickets for the #AsanauPatera event, taking place April 10 at the Cabaret du Casino de Montréal, are available now on Ticketmaster (HERE). Photos from the latest fights of Dzmitry Asanau, Mary Spencer, Christopher Guerrero and the undercard fighters are also available (HERE).

Undefeated Junior Middleweight Mary Spencer Knocking on the Door of a Title Shot

NEW YORK (September 26, 2022) – Undefeated Canadian Junior Middleweight Mary Spencer (7-0, 5 KO) is on the fast track for a World Title.

Since turning professional 13 months ago under the Eye of the Tiger promotional banner, Spencer has already fought 7 times with more activity anticipated later in the year. In this time she has fast established herself as one of the premier puncher’s in all of women’s boxing with 5 first round knockouts, including stoppages of former IBF World Super Welterweight champion Chris Namus and IBF World Super Welterweight contender Cynthia Lozano in her last two bouts. The knockout of Lozcano earned Mary the WBC Silver and WBA international titles.

“My coach, Ian Mackillop, has been telling me that I hit hard. It isn’t something I can prove to myself, so I decided to believe him and I’ve adjusted my fighting style accordingly. When my opponents go down early in fights, I’m just as surprised as everyone else. I’m just excited to see how far this goes and am coming for everyone!” said Spencer.

Spencer’s rapid ascent through the pro ranks may not be a surprise to anyone that followed her career as perhaps the most highly touted female amateur boxer in Canadian history with a total record of 118-9. As a member of Team Canada, Spencer won 3 Gold Medals at the World Amateur Games (2005, 2008, 2010), a Gold Medal at the 2011 PanAm Games in Guadalajara, and represented the country at the 2012 London Olympic Games. Spencer’s combination of an incredible amateur pedigree, superb boxing ability, and increasingly unleashed power in both hands will make her a tough match up with any fighter in the Super Welterweight division.

“Mary is the dark horse of this division” says manager Brian Cohen who has added number 40 and 41 titles to his list of accolades in women’s boxing. “Eye of the Tiger is an amazing promotion. To believe in Mary as much as they do is a blessing to have from a management perspective. When the Boxer, manager and promotion is in sync the sky is the limit

A member of the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation, Spencer recently showed off her versatility serving as the color commentator on ESPN+’s broadcast of Eye of the Tiger’s Arslanbek Makhmudov vs Carlos Takam card on September 16th.

Spencer is managed by Split-T Management’s Brian Cohen and David McWater, marking the first major collaboration between Split-T and Montreal’s famed Eye of the Tiger promotions.

Split-T Management Fighters Get Three Wins on Friday

Three Split-T Management fighters got victories on Friday night.

In an entertaining scrap that produced a lot of contact, Joseph Adorno won a 10-round unanimous decision over Hugo Alberto Roldan to win the IBF Latino Junior Welterweight title at Ballys Atlantic City.

In round two, Adorno landed two counter lefts to the side of the head, for which Roldan’s glove touched the canvas.

Roldan continued to press the action throughout the fight, but Adorno was on point with check hooks and body shots. Both guys had swelling under their eyes.

Adorno landed 105 of 339 punches; Roldan was 93 of 419.

Adorno, 139.5 lbs of Bethlehem, PA won by scores of 95-94 scores and is now 17-1-2. Roldan, 140 lbs of Argentina is 21-1-1.

“I feel like all the hard work I put in since I was a little kid is finally starting to pay off and coming all together,” said Adorno, who took the fight with Roldan on four weeks’ notice after Shinard Bunch withdrew from the main event. “I did lose a little love for boxing for a while. But I’m proud. He was an awkward fighter. I took the fight on short notice. He’s a higher weight class than me. I’m a 135-pounder. All the hard work pays off. I went through a lot in the ring tonight, as any fighter does. I hurt my hand. I got hit with a headbutt that almost closed my eye. But I overcame it all. I got what it takes. I can hang in there with the top guys. Give me a couple more fights and I’ll be ready for anybody.”

“You learn a lot from a fight like this,” Adorno said. “In boxing, you’re going to face guys with different styles. Not everybody is going to be the same. Weird guys like Roldan make you look ugly. But you have to get through it, listen to your corner and adjust. That’s what we did tonight. He came out with that aggressive style because he knew he had to throw a lot of punches to win the fight. I understand that. He’s not a power-puncher so he had to throw punches to have a chance. I’m just glad we got the victory.”

Adorno is promoted by GH3 Promotions.

In Montreal, Canada, Mary Spencer remained undefeated with a first round stoppage over former world title challenger Cynthia Lozano in a junior middleweight bout to capture the WBA International and WBC Silver Super Welterweight Titles.

Vargas made a memorable pro debut by stopping Josh Aarons in round two of their scheduled four-round super flyweight bout at the Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida.

Vargas hurt Aarons with a hard right hand that was followed by two lefts that sent Aarons to the canvas, and the bout was stopped at 2:31.
