Highlighted bouts include the undefeated Tyrone “Pretty Boy” James (4-0 2KO’S Elmont, NY) taking on William Hill (2-2 Detroit, MI) in a 6 round Welterweight match.

Tyrone James will be making his 4th straight appearance at the Paramount and is developing a large fan base due to the exciting fights he has made there. The undefeated boxer-puncher is coming off a decision win at the Paramount on March 24th over the very tough Quincy Brown. This will be James’ first 6 round fight and he has accepted a very ambitious opponent from Detroit, William Hill. Hill has won 2 of his last 4 bouts and has faced an undefeated opponent in each of his fights, James will be his 5th undefeated opponent he will be up against.

Terrell Bostic (3-0 1KO Wyandanch, NY) facing off against Alexander Picot ( 2-3-1 Hartford, CT) in a 6 round Jr. Welterweight fight.

Bostic will also be making his 4th appearance at the Paramount and is also coming off a thrilling victory on March 24th against Grashino Yancy. Bostic is facing a very dangerous opponent, Alexander Picot. Picot has faced top prospects Richard Wiggins and Irving Torres, and has a reputation for always coming to fight hard. This will be another stern test for Bostic, a highly regarding prospect.

The always exciting Vincenzo D’Angelo (2-0 Queens, NY) will battle with undefeated Duquan Burgos (1-0 Bronx, NY) in a 4 round Super Middleweight fight. D’Angelo has had both his fights at the Paramount and has a huge following of enthusiastic fans who will be cheering for the new Italian Stallion. Burgos, a Bronx Bomber, is also looking to remain undefeated in this fight where ‘an O must go’.

Dan Cion (0-1 Farmingdale, NY) will be stepping in against pro debuter Abner Guadalupe of the Bronx, NY. Cion went to war with Vincenzo D’Angelo in his pro debut and the Boxer/MMA fighter gave it his all although being defeated. Guadalupe is managed by the former NY State Commissioner and current commentator, Randy Gordon, and promises to make his pro debut a successful one.

Promoter Joe DeGuardia had these comments about the undercard, “We have again stacked our undercard with exciting, competitive bouts between hungry young pugilists. Unfortunately, due to the new insurance and medicals rules in place in New York which are very cost prohibitive to all of us in New York, we can only put on 5 fights but each and every one of them will have you on your feet cheering, as that has become the tradition here at the Paramount”.

The main event is a fantastic one where Cletus “The Hebrew Hammer” Seldin (19-0 16 KO’s Long Island, NY) takes on former world title challenger “Mighty” Mike Arnaoutis (26-10-2 13 KO’s Atlantic City, NJ) in what shapes up to be the most experienced and dangerous opponent the “Hebrew Hammer” has ever faced. ‘ROCKIN’ FIGHTS’ RETURNS TO THE PARAMOUNT

Star Boxing’s popular “Rockin’ Fights” series, returns on Thursday, June 15th at The Paramount in Huntington, NY with an interesting main event when Cletus “The Hebrew Hammer” Seldin (19-0 16 KO’s Long Island, NY) takes on former world title challenger “Mighty” Mike Arnaoutis (26-10-2 13 KO’s Atlantic City, NJ). The show will be the 27th edition of Joe DeGuardia’s acclaimed “Rockin’ Fights” series.

Seldin last appeared in the ring in June of 2016 destroying the very tough Jesus Selig in 1 round. It was the second consecutive 1st round knockout for Cletus and making it his 7th knockout in a row. Arnaoutis will be the most experienced and dangerous fighter Seldin has ever faced.

Cletus has gone through various ailments since that fight but is 100% healthy now and eager to get back in the ring. His fan friendly style and knockout punching power has attracted large, enthusiastic crowds to every fight. In an ironic twist, the Long Island fans pound out a thunderous “Hammer” chant, almost similar to the symbolic Greek war chant that Mighty Mike’s proud Greek fans shouted when Might Mike was a rising star.

Cletus knows this is his toughest test to date and had these thoughts about Arnaoutis, “I’ve seen Mike fight many times and he is a very good fighter who has fought the best in our division. I know this will be a toughie but that’s what I want for me and my fans”.

Arnaoutis is coming off 2 straight knockout wins in his home country, Greece, and is a veteran of almost 40 fights. Mike challenged for the world title in 2006 but lost due to a highly controversial split decision to then champion Ricardo Torres.

Arnaoutis is also a former USBA champion and has shared the ring with the likes of Victor Ortiz, Delvin Rodriguez, Chris Algieri, and Danny Garcia. Mike knows this may be his one of his roughest fights and has set up camp in Atlantic City to prepare for Seldin. Arnaoutis had this to say about the upcoming fight, “I’ve seen Seldin fight and I know he is a very strong puncher but he has never faced a fighter like me. I will use my skill and experience to beat him”.

Promoter Joe DeGuardia stated, “This is a terrific match between the up and coming Seldin and the highly-experienced Mike Arnaoutis. Cletus is in against his toughest and most experienced opponent ever. Mike has been in with some of the very best in the world throughout his career and this is the kind of tough and dangerous opponent that Cletus has been seeking.”

The fights begin at 7:30 pm ET! Undercard soon to be announced.

Tickets are on sale now at Star Boxing (718) 823-2000 or www.starboxing.com, The Paramount box office (631) 673-7300, or Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com, or by calling 1 (800) 745-3000.

ARNAOUTIS BATTLES LOPEZ THIS FRIDAY ON FOX SPORTS 1

mike_arnaoutis_ref
NEW YORK, Dec 11, 2013–Battle tested veterans “Mighty” Mike Arnaoutis, 24-9-2 (11 KO’s), Astoria, NY and Josesito Lopez, 30-6 (18 KO’s), Riverside, CA, lock horns this Friday at The Fantasy Springs Casino, Indio, CA, in a 10 round Welterweight showdown.

The fight will be shown on the Fox 1 Sports Network and airs at 10pm EST.

Both fighters are coming off losses and understand that this is truly a crossroads fight. In his last fight on July 20th, Arnaoutis pushed highly touted undefeated prospect Chris Algieri to the limit losing a very hard fought 10 round bout.

During his career, Arnaoutis has challenged for a world title against Ricardo Torres (split decision) and has fought many top fighters including Delvin Rodriguez, Victor Ortiz, Kendall Holt, and current Jr. Welterweight champion Danny Garcia.

Arnaoutis knows that this may be his last chance to make himself a viable contender again and has prepared very hard for Lopez who is coming off losses to World Champions Canelo Alvarez and Marcos Maidana.

Arnaoutis has been promoted by Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing for much of his career. Founder and CEO of Star Boxing Joe DeGuardia shared these thoughts about Arnaoutis, “I have been with Mike for a long time now. There have some highs and some lows during that time. However, after the effort he put forth in his last fight against Chris Algieri I believe he still has the ability to compete at a high level and I am expecting him to fight with the spirit he will need to be victorious in his fight with Josesito Lopez. He must take advantage of this opportunity if he wants to compete at the top of the sport”.

Lopez vs. Arnaoutis headlines an exciting show presented by Golden Boy Promotions in association with Goossen Tutor Promotions, Thompson Boxing and Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing and sponsored by Corona and O’Reilly Auto Parts.

Doors open at 4:00 p.m. PT and the first fight starts at 4:30 p.m. PT. The FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes three-hour broadcast airs live at 10:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. PT.

“Josesito Lopez is a true warrior and with our styles, this is going to be a fight no one will forget,” said Arnaoutis. “I can’t wait for the first bell to ring and I’m not going to stop swinging until my hand is raised.”

“This is a big fight for me and I’m expecting a tough challenge from Belmontes,” said Vargas. “He’s a hungry prospect, but I won’t let him make his name off of me.”

“Vargas is a talented opponent and I know he’s hungry to win this fight, but I don’t think any fighter is hungrier than me now,” said Belmontes. “I want to end the year with a big win and start chasing down even bigger names in 2014.”

Riverside, California’s Josesito Lopez (30-6, 18 KO’s) was long considered one of the local fight scene’s best-kept secrets, but after his stunning victories over former World Champion Victor Ortiz and Mike Dallas Jr., the rest of the boxing world found out just how good he was. A former junior middleweight world title challenger, the 29-year-old returned to welterweight in June and engaged in a ‘Fight of the Year’ candidate against Marcos Maidana and on Dec. 13, he’s got Mike Arnaoutis to face in the ring as he aims for world championship gold in 2014.

A former USBA and NABO junior welterweight champion, who has stepped into the ring with the likes of Unified Super Lightweight World Champion Danny Garcia, former World Champion Victor Ortiz, Ricardo Torres and Delvin Rodriguez, the Queens, New York native “Mighty” Mike Arnaoutis (24-9-1, 11 KO’s), is a seasoned veteran with a slick and exciting style that keeps him competitive against anyone in the world. Undaunted by the task ahead of him, the 34-year-old Arnaoutis is excited for the opportunity to face Lopez this December and prove he has what it takes to face the best.

2008 Mexican Olympian Francisco “El Bandido” Vargas (17-0-1, 14 KO’s) has enjoyed an impressive run through the 130-pound weight class since turning pro in 2010, with 2013 wins over Ira Terry, Cristian Arrazola and Brandon Bennett putting him on the fast track to even bigger things next year. But first, the 28-year-old from Mexico City has to hold off a stiff challenge from Jerry Belmontes.

One of the most popular fighters representing Texas today, Jerry “The Corpus Christi Kid” Belmontes (18-2, 5 KO’s) has been nearly unstoppable in his home state, winning 12 of 13 bouts there. On December 13, the 24-year-old fights in California for the first time since 2009 and he plans on spoiling Vargas’ unbeaten record and taking two title belts back to the Lone Star State.

ISSOUF KINDA VS. MIKE ARNAOUTIS TITLE FIGHT “WESTBURY WARS” THIS SATURDAY NIGHT AT

NEW YORK, NY (October 11, 2012) Having presented many years of world class musical performances, this Saturday night, OCTOBER 13, the NYCB Theatre at Westbury will play host to “WESTBURY WARS”, a sensational evening of action packed professional boxing promoted by Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing.

The ten round main event will see undefeated African native, now based in New York City, Issouf Kinda battling former world title challenger and perennial contender “Mighty” Mike Arnaoutis in a bout contested for Kinda’s New York State Junior Welterweight Title.

With his sensational boxing skills honed through an illustrious amateur career, the 24-year-old Kinda has impressed the knowledgeable boxing fans in the New York City area since turning professional in 2009.

Compiling a record of 14-0-0 (5KO’s), Kinda will be making the first defense of the New York State Title, which he earned with an eight round shutout performance on MAY 2 against Luis Rodriguez at Russo’s On The Bay in Howard Beach, NY.

Born in Athens, Greece, Arnaoutis is among the toughest veterans in the junior welterweight division. Included on his ledger are battles with notable world champions and world ranked contenders including Delvin Rodriguez, Victor Ortiz, Danny Garcia, Kendall Holt, Ricardo Torres, Juan Urango and Demetrius Hopkins.

Most recently, the 33-year-old Arnaoutis has looked very impressive; winning a unanimous decision over Shakha Moore on FEBRUARY 10 at the Mohegan Sun Casino and stopping Broderick Antoine on MAY 2.

Said DeGuardia, ‘There’s been a great buzz about the Kinda/Arnaoutis fight since we announced it. Kinda is a terrific looking prospect with a wealth of potential, however Arnaoutis is a much more experienced veteran who is looking at this as an opportunity to put his name in the mix for bigger fights if he can defeat Kinda. There’s a great deal at stake for both guys.”

In the eight round welterweight co-main event at “WESTBURY WARS”, popular undefeated Long Island knockout artist Cletus “The Hebrew Hammer” Seldin will look to stay unbeaten against Chicago based spoiler Carl ‘The Assassin” McNickles.

The 26-year-old Seldin, 8-0-0 (5KO’s) has turned heads with his stunning knockouts over the last fifteen months. His last three bouts have ended in the first two rounds, culminating in a brutal first round knockout of heralded Puerto Rican prospect Jonathan Garcia on JULY 28 at the sold out Paramount in Huntington.

Sporting a record of 8-3-0 (6KO’s), the 28-year-old McNickles has faced numerous undefeated prospects across the country. In his last outing at Madison Square Garden on MARCH 17, he battled New Jersey’s Danny McDermott over six rounds winning a hard fought decision in a terrific back-and-forth war.

“Everyone on Long Island knows about Seldin’s power and how exciting he is to watch but McNickles is very confident and fearless about fighting on the road. We expect fireworks in this bout from the opening bell” said DeGuardia.

Also featured in a six round junior welterweight tilt is a clash between Bayan “The Mongolian Mongoose” Jargal and Newburgh, New York native Luis Rodriguez.

Currently residing in Arlington, Virginia and sporting a record of 15-3-3 (10KO’s), Jargal looks to get back on the winning track following a ten round decision loss to undefeated prospect Chris Algieri on NOVEMBER 19 at The Paramount in Huntington, New York, a bout which was broadcast internationally on Azteca America.

The 24-year-old Rodriguez, 6-5-1 (1KO), has become well known in Puerto Rico and the New York City area for his aggressive, all-action style of fighting.

Also appearing at “WESTBURY WARS” is popular Huntington, New York based newcomer Alan Gotay. The 22-year-old made his pro debut on the Star Boxing 20th Anniversary Show on JULY 28 knocking out Ian James in the first round at The Paramount.

In a scheduled four junior welterweight bout, Gotay will face off against Alberto Manukyan, 0-1-0, of Jersey City, NJ.

Said Joe DeGuardia about this unique event, “The NYCB Theatre at Westbury has long been a world class venue for the best entertainment in the world. With seating in the round, boxing fans will enjoy a unique and up-close opportunity to view a great event that we’re putting together.”

“Issouf Kinda is a sensational prospect who continues to shine with each fight. This is his fourth fight in 2012 and he hasn’t lost a round yet. Mike Arnaoutis with his wealth of experience on a world class level who is looking to work his way to another title shot represents a very tough test for Kinda.”

“Also, we’re very excited to have “The Hebrew Hammer”, Cletus Seldin making his return to the squared circle. Cletus’ spectacular knockouts have played to packed houses since he turned pro last year

and the fans at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury are going to be amazed by his power. He’s in against a very crafty veteran from Chicago, Carl McNickels and is sure to see some new looks coming at him in this fight.”

“We’re also putting together a sensational undercard of local favorites and terrific young prospects which we will announce shortly,” DeGuardia continued.

Undefeated with a record of 14-0-0, (5KO’s), Kinda is coming off a unanimous decision win over veteran Marteze Logan on AUGUST 24. He also served shut out unanimous decision wins over Luis Rodriguez and Angel Rios earlier this year.

A native of Athens, Greece, now fighting out of Queens, New York, the hard hitting Arnaoutis has compiled a record of 24-7-2 (11KO’s) over his eleven-year career. Currently, the southpaw Arnaoutis is riding a two bout winning streak, most recently knocking out veteran Broderick Antoine in the seventh round at the Star Boxing VIP Boxing Event at Russo’s On The Bay on MAY 2.

The heavy handed 26 year old Seldin, 8-0-0 with six stoppages, is making the fourth start of his 2012 campaign, having scored three consecutive knockouts all within the first two rounds this year. In his last start on JULY 28, he stopped Jonathan Garcia in the first round.

Known as “The Assassin”, the 28-year-old McNickels, 8-3-0 (6KO’s), has fought all over the country facing numerous top prospects.

In his last outing on St. Patrick’s Day, MARCH 17, McNickels fought hometown favorite Danny McDermott at Madison Square Garden, losing a very close majority decision in an epic, back-and-forth battle.

A full undercard of exciting fights featuring numerous local prospects will be announced shortly.

Doors on the evening of the event will open at 6:30pm with the first bell at 7:30pm. Event, date and time are subject to change. Tickets are subject to applicable service charges.

A proud native of Philadelphia, 22-year-old Danny Garcia (18-0, 12 KO’s) came into the professional fight game in 2007 with high expectations and he has so far lived up to all the hype thanks to his prodigious talent and perfect record. In 2010, Garcia has upped the ante, defeating Ashley Theophane, Christopher Fernandez and Jorge Romero in successive bouts, setting the stage for his biggest fight to date against Arnaoutis.

Athens, Greece native Mike Arnaoutis (22-6-1, 10 KO’s) first made his mark on the junior welterweight division in 2004 when he battled to an entertaining draw with future World Champion Juan Urango. He’s kept fans cheering ever since then, having battled with the cream of the 140-pound crop, including Kendall Holt, Ricardo Torres, Victor Ortiz, Jesse Feliciano and Delvin Rodriguez. Eager to get back into the title hunt, Arnaoutis will put everything on the line to come out victorious on October 8 in what can surely be described as a crossroads fight for him.

DANNY “SWIFT” GARCIA STEPS UP TO FACE FORMER WORLD TITLE CHALLENGER “MIGHTY” MIKE ARNAOUTIS ON OCTOBER 8TH AT THE ARENA (FORMALLY THE NEW ALHAMBRA) IN SOUTH PHILADELPHIA

PHILADELPHIA (September 15, 2010)—On Friday night October 8th, one of the hottest prospects in boxing, undefeated Danny “Swift” Garcia will take on his toughest challenger to date when he battles former world title challenger, “Mighty” Mike Arnaoutis in ten round Jr. Welterweight bout that will highlight a night of world class boxing at The Arena (Formally The New Alhambra) in South Philadelphia.

The show is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions in association with Joe Hand Promotions.

Garcia of Philadelphia has quickly risen up the short list of potential world champions as he has amassed a perfect mark of 18-0 with twelve wins coming by knockout.

In just his fourth pro bout, Garcia fought and scored a six round unanimous decision over former four-time world title challenger, Julio Gamboa (28-12-2) on May 3rd, 2008.

Garcia made an emphatic statement as he returned to his hometown to score a “Highlight Reel” second round destruction of Enrique Colin (29-5-3) on December 2nd at The Liacouras Center on the Bernard Hopkins-Enrique Ornelas undercard.

The twenty-two year then headlined in Philadelphia for the first time and took out rugged Christopher Fernandez (18-9-1) in round seven of a scheduled ten round bout that was seen all over the United States on Telefutura.

In his last bout, Garcia took on Jorge Romero (17-2) in Cancun, Mexico. Garcia scored a ninth round knockout that was highlighted by a left hook that made the fight a candidate for Knockout of the year and in the process gave Garcia the WBC Interim Youth Championship.

“I’m very excited to give my home town another great show and put the city of Philadelphia back on the boxing map”, said Garcia

“I’m very excited to be fighting Mike and after this win, all the top Jr. Welterweights in the world will know Danny “Swift” Garcia is for real.”

Arnaoutis of Atlantic City, New Jersey by way of Athens, Greece has been in many big fights over the past five years.

Arnaoutis had his “coming out party” as he engaged with undefeated future world champion Juan Urango (13-0) in what was one of the best bouts of 2004.

The bout was ruled a draw in the action packed contest where many watching around the country on SHO BOX felt Arnaoutis should have received the nod.

He received a world title fight against power punching Ricardo Torres (29-1) on November 18, 2006 as part of the Manny Pacquiao – Erik Morales III undercard in Las Vegas.

Arnaoutis scored a knockdown but came up just short as he lost a razor thin split decision.

Arnaoutis then lost WBO title elimination bout to Kendall Holt.

It has been a roller coaster for Arnaoutis since that fight as he has gone 5-4 with quality wins over Lanardo Tyner (19-0) and Doel Carrasquillo.

Arnaoutis recently tried his luck in the Welterweight division but fell short against the likes of former world title challenger Delvin Rodriguez (24-4-2) and in his bout he lost a ten round unanimous decision to the highly regarded Demetrious Hopkins (29-1-1) on July 2nd, 2010 in Ontario, California in a bout that was broadcasted on ESPN 2.

The co-feature will showcase undefeated Lightweight Michael Perez (9-0-1, 4 KO’s) of Newark, New Jersey in a six round bout.

Anthony Flores (9-1-1, 6 KO’s) will see action in an eight round Super Featherweight bout

Exciting lightweight, Victor Vasquez (11-4-1, 6 KO’s) will take on Edward Valdez (3-8-2) of Brooklyn, New York in a six round bout.

Alex Sanchez (1-1, 1 KO) of Camden, NJ will take on Joe Dunn (0-1) of Philadelphia in a four round Middleweight bout.

Lightweight Kareem Cooley (1-1); Super Feather weight Jason Sosa (3-0-1, 1 KO) and Lightweight Angel Ocasio (3-0, 1 KO) will all see action in separate bouts against opponent to be named

Arnaoutis-Rodriguez April 2 at the Mohegan Sun!

Atlantic City’s Mike Arnaoutis will have a shot to rebound from his controversial loss to Tim Coleman when he battles Delvin Rodriguez April 2 on ESPN’s Friday Night Fights at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT.

Arnaoutis, 22-4-2 (10 KO’s), appeared to do just enough to warrant a victory against the awkward Coleman, but dropped a hotly contested split decision. The former USBA Junior Welterweight champion will move up to welterweight for the first time after reportedly having severe difficulty making the 140 lb limit.

Rodriguez, like Arnaoutis, is looking to get back on track following an L. The Danbury, CT native dropped a unanimous decision in Poland to hometown favorite Rafael Jackiewicz and a split decision to Isaac Hlatshwayo for the then vacant IBF Welterweight crown back in August. Ironically, Rodriguez, 24-4-2 (14 KO’s), was also a USBA titleholder that came up short in his biggest bouts.

Arnaoutis and Rodriguez are scheduled to meet over 12 rounds.
