DETROIT (December 8, 2025 ) — Salita Promotions today announced the signing of Flint, Mich., standout boxer Garett “Baby Gee” Rice, a decorated amateur talent fighting out of the legendary Berston Field House, the same Flint boxing institution that helped launch the rise of two-time Olympic gold medalist and undisputed world champion Claressa Shields. Rice will make his professional debut on Saturday, December 20 at the historic Fox Theatre in Detroit, on a card headlined by the WBC and WBA Unified Middleweight World Championship rematch between Olivia Curry (7-2-2, 2 KOs) and Kaye Scott (4-1-1) and featuring Detroit’s own Tony “Super Bad” Harrison (30-4-1, 21 KOs) in the co-main event.

Rice, 22, enters the professional ranks following an exceptional amateur career that included more than 170 bouts and championship wins across the country. A slick featherweight known for his speed and technical skill, Rice compiled multiple Silver Gloves titles (2015, 2016), a Junior Olympic championship, Michigan Golden Gloves state championships (2017, 2018), and the 2024 Ohio State Golden Gloves title. His résumé also features victories at the USA Eastern and Western Qualifier Championships (2017), and numerous Most Outstanding Fighter awards, and a run as the No. 1 amateur in the nation for multiple years. Rice most recently qualified for and competed in the 2023 U.S. Olympic Trials.

Trained under veteran coach Ed Kendall, Rice has long been a fixture at Berston Field House, where he trained alongside Shields throughout his amateur career. The Flint native carries his hometown’s–and home gym’s–fighting spirit into his professional debut.

“Turning pro feels like the start of a new chapter,” Rice said. “I learned a lot from the amateurs how to stay patient, how to place my shots, how to think in the ring. Now it’s about sharpening that and building real momentum. I want to be 7-0 by the end of 2026.”

Rice’s placement on the December 20 card marks a meaningful introduction to fans. Scheduled as the third bout of the night, Rice will hit the ring early, giving fans a reason to be in their seats when the action starts.

Brandon Moore won a 10-round unanimous decision over DeAndre Savage in a heavyweight bout at the Fox Theatre in Detroit.

In round seven, Moore landed a chopping right to the side of the head the put Savage on the canvas.

Moore, 236.4 lbs of Polk County, FL won by scores of 100-89 twice and 99-90 and is now 19-1. Savage, 293.4 lbs of Flint, MI is 10-1.

“I am very happy with my performance. I came out here and got a spectacular and graceful win,” said Moore. “I knew he wouldn’t be able to move with me, and it was probably my easiest win. I would have liked to earn the stoppage, but I feel great about it. I boxed really well. And I loved being at the Fox Theatre. The Temptations, the Four Tops and now OJ Bam Moore.

“I am ready for what’s next and I want to fight Anthony Joshua,” he concluded. “I am going to speak it into existence.”

Scott and Curry Battle to Majority Draw in Unified Middleweight Title bout

Olivia Curry and Kaye Scott fought 10 an entertaining 10-round draw in a battle for the WBA/WBC Middleweight titles.

In round three, Curry was cut along the right eye from a head butt.

Scott won a scorecard 98-92 and two cards were even at 95-95.

Curry ,158.1 lbs of Chicago is 7-0-1. Scott, 158.8 lbs of Sydney, AUS is 4-1-1.

“I always feel grateful when both fighters come out safely and put on an entertaining fight. But I want to run it back,” said Curry. “She came with volume and used her amateur experience to throw a ton of little flurries. About halfway through, I made an adjustment and committed to the body more and increased my volume to edge out some of the later rounds.”

Da’Velle Smith Stops Janer Gonzalez in two

Da’Velle Smith remained undefeated with a second round stoppage of Janer Gonzalez in an eight-round light heavyweight bout

In round two, Smith put Gonzalez down with a left hook. Seconds later, ,it was a bigger left hook that put Gonzalez down for the 10-count at 2:59.

Smith, 171 lbs of Detroit is 14-0 with nine knockouts. Gonzalez, 167.2 lbs of Colombia is 24-9-1.

“I am feeling great, confident, and ready for what’s next,” said Smith, who is trained by the world renowned SugarHill Steward. “I was looking for the big punch early. But my coach told me to settle down and work the jab, throw some hooks and we got him out of there.

“It felt amazing to fight in that legendary building. It’s a great honor to fight in the city of Detroit and to fight at the Fox Theatre.”

Simmons Decisions Riley

Sardius Simmons won a six-round unanimous decision over Lemir Isom-Riley in a heavyweight bout.

Simmons, 219 lbs of Flint, MI won by scores of 59-55 and 58-56 twice and is now 4-0. Riley, 262 lba of Harrisburg, PA is 5-7.

Super Middleweight contender Da’velle Smith (13-0, 8KO’s) of Troy, returns to his hometown following a unanimous decision victory over Martez McGregor on the undercard of Claressa Shields’ July event at Little Caesars Arena. Savage, Flint’s heavy-hitting prospect, is known for his relentless pressure and concussive power. He steps into his first professional title fight with a perfect record and a 100 percent knockout ratio. The 280-pound powerhouse is coming off a dominant second-round TKO over Eduardo Santana in January, an emphatic victory that further cemented his reputation as one of the division’s most dangerous punchers. Now, he steps into his most significant test to date against Moore.

“I know Brandon from the Olympic trials, and I respect what he’s done, but I’ve been in camps with top 10 and top 15 heavyweights–Luis Ortiz, Joseph Parker and others–so I know my skills and I’m confident in myself,” said Savage. “I haven’t fought anyone in the pros with his caliber yet, but that changes on September 19. Curry, a proven contender known for her high-volume pressure will look to capture her first unified crown when she faces Australia’s Kaye Scott for the vacant titles. Curry, known for her relentless pace and durability, moved up to super middleweight for a competitive 10-round bout against top contender Shadasia Green before returning to her natural weight at 160 pounds. Now, with her aggressive style and guidance from longtime trainer Trinidad Garcia, she looks to make a statement on fight night and cement her place among the elite.

“This is an exciting time in women’s boxing right now, and I’m happy I can be part of this chapter fighting on a big stage like this. I plan to showcase my talent and create excitement in the middleweight division starting with this event,” said Curry. “I feel much more comfortable at this weight and my power really shines. Scott made her professional debut in 2023 with a victory over Connie Chan to win the vacant Australasian female middleweight title. She has progressed quickly through the professional ranks in just five fights. She followed up with a majority decision over Desley Robinson for the Australian middleweight title, before facing Robinson again in December 2024 for the vacant IBF middleweight title. While she came up short, the bout set the stage for her second world title opportunity on September 19.

“I’m so thankful to be making my U.S. debut next month. In my town, it was illegal for women to box amateur or as a pro, so I had to go to another town to fight and build up my career, but I’m ready!” said Scott. “I’m going to make my country proud and showcase my skills. Jake Paul won a 10-round unanimous decision over Nate Diaz in an entertaining cruiserweight bout in front of a capacity crowd at The American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas.

In round one, Paul hurt Diaz with a left to the top of the head and had him reeling to ropes as he landed a hard flurry of punches. Diaz made a stand in round four as he landed some shots that drove Paul back. In round five, Paul dropped Diaz with a short left hook to the side of the head.

The second half of the fight saw Diaz be more competitive as he was able to get to Paul several times by landing short shots on the inside that snap the head of Paul. There were several toe-to-toe exchanges that thrilled the boisterous crowd at The American Airlines Arena. The battled it out until the final bell.

Paul landed 174 of 491 punches. Diaz was 143 of 392.

Paul, 185 lbs of Cleveland won by scores of 98-91 twice and 97-92 and is now 7-1. Diaz, 184.9 lbs of Stockton, CA was making his professional boxing debut.

Serrano Defends Undisputed Title with Another Decision over Hardy

Amanda Serrano retained the Undisputed Featherweight Title with a 10-round unanimous decision over Heather Hardy in a rematch of a bout that had the same result in 2019.

Serrano battered and bloodied a tough-as-nails Hardy, who took many hard shots. She was able to get through all 10-rounds.

In round one, Serrano came out ripping hard shots to the body and head that made the nose of Hardy to start bleeding.

In round nine, Hard began to bleed from a big gash in her forehead from an accidental headbutt.

Serrano landed 278 of 739 punches. Hardy was 149 of 557.

Serrano, 124.6 lbs of Brooklyn won by scores of 100-90 twice and 99-91 and is now 45-2-1. Hardy, 125.8 lbs of Brooklyn is 24-3-1.

In a battle of former MMA fighters, Chris Avila pounded out an six-round unanimous decision over Jeremy Stephens in a super middleweight fight.

Avila landed 141 of 377 punches. Stephens was 81 of 267.

Avila, 170.3 lbs of Stockton, CA won by scores of 60-54 and 59-55 twice and is now 4-1. Stephens, 167 lbs of Chula Vista, CA is now 0-1-1.

Sylve Stops Silva with a Body Shot in Round 4

Ashton Sylve remained undefeated with a fourth round stoppage over William Silva in a lightweight contest.

At the end of round two, Sylve landed perfect left to the body tat put Silva on his back. In round four, Sylve landed another crushing left to the body, but this time Silva did not get up and the fight was over at 2:59.

Top-Ranked super middleweight contender Shadasia Green won a 10-round unanimous decision over Olivia Curry.

Curry had some success early by boxing and moving, but Green took over the second half of the fight as she landed some booming right hands that Curry took but marked up her face.

Green landed 179 of 385 punches. Curry was 99 of 495.

Green, 166.9 lbs of Paterson, NJ won by scores of 100-89, 100-90 and 99-91 and is now 13-0. Curry, 166.7 lbs of Chicago is 7-2.

Alan Sanchez Decisions Angel Beltran

Alan Sanchez scored an eight-round unanimous decision over Angel Beltran in a welterweight bout.

Sanchez landed 149 of 439 punches. Beltran landed 130 of 451.

Sanchez, 147 lbs of Fairfield, CA won by scores of 79-73, 78-74 and 77-75 and is now 23-5-1. Beltran, 144.4 lbs of Indio, CA is 17-2.

Kevin Newman II won a ight-round unanimous decision over Quilisto Madera in a super middleweight bout.

In round two, Madera began to swell under his left eye.

In round seven, Madera was deducted a point for hitting on the break.

Green, the former Team USA star who boasts an impressive 12-0 record with 11 KO’s and the record for fastest KO in a women’s fight, joined MVP after a trailblazing few years in the sport. She is currently the mandatory challenger for Undisputed champion Savannah Marshall’s newly earned WBC, WBO, WBA and IBF belts, which sets up a bout that would be the biggest women’s fight in UK history. As a former standout college basketball star, Green spent years as a starter for Old Dominion University (ODU) where she was impressively named Third Team All-CAA and ranked top 20 in the CAA in scoring. The Paterson, NJ native later broke out into the amateur boxing scene when she joined the U.S. National Team as a heavyweight after just five fights, earning a silver medal at the 2016 World Championships in Kazakhstan. Curry, the professional boxer out of Chicago, originally hailing from Cincinnati, OH, comes to the ring after winning her last five fights. As an amateur boxer, she won the Chicago Golden Gloves and went on to represent Chicago at the National Golden Gloves three times. Curry was nationally ranked as an elite female and competed at the 2018 USA National Tournament. As a pro, she is ranked in the top 5 middleweight contenders by major sanctioning bodies and The Ring Magazine. Outside the ring, Curry is a commercial filmmaker. Chicago, IL March 30, 2023)–Chicago’s biggest and longest running boxing promotion, Hitz Boxing will present a huge night of boxing on Saturday, April 8th at The Donald E Stephens Center (5555 N River Rd, Rosemont, IL 60018) in Rosemont, Illinois.

Some of Chicago’s brightest fighters will be featured on the 11 bout card.

In a featured bout, Juan Carlos Guerra (3-0, 2 KOs) of Chicago fights Jorge Perez (4-0) in a battle of undefeated Chicago based super lightweights. The bout is scheduled for four-rounds.

“This is a throwback fight between Guerra and Perez. These are two fighters who are willing to risk their undefeated records in a cross-town rivalry bout. I commend them for taking the fight. These are the types of fights that generate a lot of interest in the boxing community and this should be a barnburner when they collide on April 8th,” said promoter Bobby Hitz.

In a six-round super middleweight bout, Thomas Hughes (11-2, 5 KOs) of Chicago will take on veteran Derrick Findley (35-28-1, 25 KOs) of Merrillville, Indiana.

Hughes has won two straight bouts and will look to add a quality name in Findley to his resume.

Findley is an 18 year-pro and has fought many of the biggest names in the sport. His ledger includes victories of Richard Pierson (4-0) Andrzej Fonfara (10-1), Michael Walker (19-2), David Thomas (10-1-2), Ronald Hearns (26-3), Lamar Russ (14-1), former world title challenger Antuon Echols, , Daniel Heinze (6-0), Donovan George (25-6-2)

Also in a six-round battle, undefeated heavyweight Deontae Pettigrew will take on former United States Olympian Devin Vargas.

Pettigrew (8-0, 6 KOs) of Chicago has a win over Dajuan Calloway (2-0) and is coming off a unanimous decision over tough 91-fight veteran Terrell Jamal Woods on October 15th in Rosemont, Illinois.

Vargas of Toledo, Ohio is 22-8 with nine knockouts. The 2004 Olympian won his first 17 fights, and has victories over Ed Perry (6-1-1), David Saulsberry (5-1), Boris Shisporenak (6-0), Niall Kennedy (13-0-1) and Victor Bisbal (23-4). Vargas has fought former world heavyweight champions Charles Martin and Andy Ruiz Jr. plus former world title challengers Kevin Johnson and Dominic Breazeale.

Sensation heavyweight Michael Olas (12-0, 11 KOs) of Chicago via Poland fights Antonio Brown (8-2, 8 KOs) of Phoenix, Arizona in a battle of big hitting heavyweights scheduled for six-rounds.

In four-round bouts:

Ron Jalomo (1-0, 1 KO) of Chicago battles Antoine Ellison (6-29-4, 3 KOs) of Milwaukee in a super lightweight contest.

Brandi Robinson (1-0, 1 KO) of Chicago battles Tonia Craves (2-8-2, 1 KO) of Miami in a bantamweight tussle.

Francisco Rodriguez (1-0, 1 KO) of Tampa, Florida fights Kasey Keenan (0-1) of Kalamazoo, Michigan in a super lightweight bout.

Also scheduled to appear are super middleweight William Langston (8-3, 5 KOs) of Kenosha, Wisconsin; lightweight Joshuah Hernandez (10-4, 8 KOs) of Chicago; Illinois State Super Middleweight champion, James Quiter (6-1-1, 6 KOs) of Oak Park, Illinois and featherweight Lucas Moldenhauer of Chicago.

Boxing-media company Fightstars.tv, proudly announces their Director of Female Boxing Operations, Rick Ramos, has signed two-time Chicago Golden Gloves Champion, National Amateur Championships finalist and once-beaten professional Olivia Curry (4-1, 2 KOs) to their team of female fighting stars.

Originally from Cincinnati, Curry was a kickboxer until an Ong-Bak movie she watched in college gave her an interest in the sweet science. “There was a gym nearby with a student discount. I took a class and it slowly took over my life until I switched over to amateur boxing and eventually turned pro,” laughed Curry.

Tall for a female middleweight at 5’ 9”, Curry is a more of a technical stylist with a great jab and a strong ability to adapt inside the ropes. “I really love the intellectual chess game of boxing,” she continued. “I have punching power which is hopefully exciting to watch, but I’m definitely more of a boxer than a brawler. You don’t’ get into boxing if you’re not competitive. I want to prove I can hang with the best fighters in the world and compete for world titles.”

A resident of The Windy City for the past two decades, Curry trains at Unanimous Boxing Gym with Head Coach Trinidad Garcia. She says the deal with Fightstars.tv is a great opportunity for her career.

“I’ve known Rick for a long time from the Chicago scene,” she explained. “I’ve sparred his fighters and still do and we have talked him about working with him in the past. He and my coach know each other well. So, he came to me and Trinidad to talk early this year and we thought the Fightstars.tv deal Rick brought to the table was a great opportunity. I’m very excited for the future because I feel I have reached a point in my career where I want more elite-level competition.”

Ramos says he’s happy to finally be working with Curry.

“I’ve known Olivia for a while now.,” he recounted, “we are from the same city. She’s always been tough and ready to fight. I’m excited to work with her because there are BIG money fights in her weight class (160).”

Curry, who will make her fighting debut under the Fightstars.tv banner this coming May in Iowa, says signing with Fightstars.tv comes as she’s rededicating herself to the sport after some soul searching.

“I looked at the pandemic as a wakeup call,” said Curry. “It was either time for me to go on to something else or re-dedicate myself. I thought about it and I didn’t feel done. I love the intensity of the sport. I thought it was time to take the next step and this is it. I still feel like I have so much to learn about the sport, if you look at someone’s career as bell curve, I’m still on my way up. So I want to become the best fighter I can be and have exciting entertaining fights that make people think this woman deserves to be here.”
