THE FINAL WORD

Eddie Hearn

“We’re delighted to be in Houston for the first time for Matchroom, and what a fight card it is and what a main event. This is one of the top fights in boxing. The buildup has been sensational. Everybody’s talking about it, O’Shaquie Foster defends his WBC World Super-Featherweight title against Raymond Ford, live and exclusive on DAZN around the world.

“This is a fight that I as a fight fan have been looking forward to since it was made. This arena going to be packed out on Saturday night. This is going to do huge numbers and viewership around the world, live on DAZN. Well done to both for a great buildup and this is a great, great matchup.”

O’Shaquie Foster

I feel great. I give all glory to God, for this for this opportunity. All I got to do is capitalize. Now all these dudes over there talking, we ain’t hearing that. We don’t care. We have been through the fire. I’m ready. I’m prepared. I’m happy. And a happy fighter is a dangerous fighter. He’s going to find out Saturday.

“They call me, ice water. I stay cool. I stay calm and I flow like water. He going to find out Saturday. All that talking, is going to get shut down real quick. They are so nervous they can’t be quiet for a second. Saturday, they all going to be crying, they all going to be hurt. I’m going to dominate from round one to whenever the fight ends. If he gets too reckless like I told him, it’s going to be a bad night for him. This the this one of the biggest buildups that I’ve had in my career and all it does is just make me raise my game. You are going to see the best out of me Saturday.”

Raymond Ford

“I’m just ready. I ain’t really got too much to say, I’m ready. I can’t wait to shut y’all the f**k up. Y’all talk too much. Just tune in.”

Bobby Benton (Foster’s trainer)

“Shock’s the smartest fighter I’ve ever trained. Ray will find out right in the first round. Ray is a great fighter, but he’ll understand in the first round that it’s a different level.”

Tarae Stevenson (Ford’s trainer)

“This the longest training camp I done had in my career. We have put the blood, sweat, and tears in and we are just ready to go. Come Saturday, it’s Savage time, ‘and the new’. This the calm before the storm. The storm going to come Saturday and ain’t nothing he could do about it. They are just five minutes away and after this one, they going to no choice but to respect me.”

Carl Moretti (VP Boxing Operations, Top Rank)

“It’s been a great start for us on DAZN, the global home of boxing. It took some time to get there, but we couldn’t be more pleased with the partnership and how easy it is to make fights. You can’t blame, ‘well, he’s on that side of the street anymore’, there’s only one street right now and it’s the biggest street in boxing. O’Shaquie Foster, we all watched that fight in Mexico, they tried to take it from him, but he wouldn’t let them. It didn’t happen. This is his seventh World title fight, and it’s just levels at this at this point. He’s in his prime and we can’t wait for Saturday night.”

Charlie Sheehy

“I’m excited to be back with Matchroom, I started my career here and uh this is where I plan on becoming a World champion.

“I feel like I’m going to show a little bit of everything Saturday night, speed, power and skills.

“I’m looking to put my name into the rankings with this fight, my first ten rounder and keep climbing them to get uh a shot at one of the World champions.”

Nike Theran

“I want to thank to Eddie Hearn for the opportunity. We’ve come here to do, to contribute to this event, to show that there are the boxers of great quality on this card.”

Omari Jones

“When we got the news that our opponent got pulled out, and that a 9-0 guy wanted the fight and was willing to take the fight, we took it not even five minutes later, we said let’s make it happen. I didn’t want to miss this opportunity on this card. I just fought a 23-6 guy, so it just shows the test and the work that we put in, and you know Matchroom are testing me and believing in me.

“We step up to the competition and like you said the last opponent he covered up. He felt the power and didn’t want to engage. We’re coming to put on the show once again and on Saturday, I’m ready to show is my time.”

Diego Osuna

“I’m excited, I don’t feel pressure or nothing, but I’m excited. I feel the better the opponent, the better it brings it out of me. I’m ready to fight. That’s what I like to do. I like to fight and you guys are going to see an entertaining fight.”

Miguel Flores

“He’s saying what he’s supposed to say. I like his attitude. I like that. He’s going to bring out the best of me and we’ll see Saturday night, he could see he could save all that energy for Saturday, he’s going to have me in front ten rounds. After this, he might need to go back to TCL, you know, get a couple more paydays there. That didn’t go too well for him either, though.

“There’s a lot of things you can’t teach in boxing. And one is experience. You got to go through the years. Obviously, not on club shows. You got to be on the big stages. We’ve done it before. You didn’t even make it past TCL. Save that energy. We’ll see.

“We’re not going to sit here and talk about what we going to do, we’re going to show it on Saturday night. We have the right game plan, he better be ready to go 10 rounds.”

Javon Woodard

“He can’t f**k with me. I dominate. I do whatever I want to do – start to finish. It’s going to feel good to knock on somebody door and beat them in their crib. It’s however I feel, how I wake up feeling. I could box his head off, or I could just beat him up. it depends on how I feel tomorrow or Saturday. You know, there ain’t nothing he can do with me. He’s talking about 10 rounds, he’s lucky if it goes 10. He went to these big shows. And what did he do? He came up short. No mumbling from me, this s**t loud and clear.”

Zaquin Moses

“I’m ready to perform, I can’t wait to Saturday, I can’t wait to beat somebody up. It’s too bad it got to be him. He’s coming to get a check before he leave, but I’m going to show that one of the best prospects in the world. Perform, dominate, and if the stoppage is coming, it’s going to come.”

Travis Crawford

“I do plan on pulling off an upset, I’m coming here to fight. I’m big on respect, I want to give respect, and I want to get respect and as long as that’s held, then that’s that’s my point of view on it. He’s the one with the pressure on him, there’s none on me. For me, it’s just trying to stay active until I leave the military here soon. So, this is just something that just came upon me and it lined up right.”

Jahyden Britton

“It’s been a long time coming, but the time is perfect right now. This is the perfect timing for me, my career, and for you to see my talent. I’m comfortable in the ring so I’m ready to showcase it.

“It feels great to be here in Houston. Thank Foster and Ford for coming together and making that fight happen. I wouldn’t be on this card without them, I’m thankful that I can be on something that’s going to be history. I’m just ready, and I’m coming to steal the show for sure.”

Najee West

“I’m definitely coming from out of town, but I don’t feel no pressure. I’m just ready to show my work and that I belong here and that I belong on more shows with you.

“This can change everything for me. I didn’t come to lay down, didn’t come to lose. I come to fight and come to win.”

Frank Espinoza

“I’m ready. I’m going to go in there and do my thing. Just expect a good fight. I’m going to go in there, show my skills, and prove to everybody why I belong here.”

Bryce Blackwell

“I feel like um this going to be one of the best fights on the card. I know Frank is a two-time national champion, but I’m coming in here to win. It’s just how I’m feeling about it. I’m very confident. I’ve put in the work, put in the time, and I came to win, so I’m very confident.”

SHEEHY MAKES MATCHROOM DEBUT AGAINST GONZALEZ IN HOUSTON

Charlie Sheehy will face Jaret Gonzalez for the WBA NABA Lightweight title at the Fertitta Center in Houston, Texas on Saturday May 30, live worldwide on DAZN, with the bout serving as the co-main event ahead of the blockbuster showdown between Houston’s own WBC World Super-Featherweight champion O’Shaquie Foster defending his crown against former World ruler Raymond Ford.

TICKETS FOR FOSTER VS. FORD ON MAY 30 IN HOUSTON ARE ON SALE NOW
Sheehy (12-0 7 KOs) penned a long-term promotional deal with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom in April, and on a night of firsts for the Californian with a glittering amateur career, he boxes over the ten round distance for the first time in a bid to claim his maiden pro strap. The 27 year old, who made his pro debut on a Matchroom card in Fresno, California in October 21, moved to 12-0 in November with his seventh stoppage win in the paid ranks, and he’ll be looking to make his three KO wins in a row in Houston.

Standing in Sheehy’s way is Gonzalez (18-2 13 KOs), the Mexican who returned to winning ways in October with a ten round shut out in Aguascalientes against Martin Morales, bouncing back from defeat against former World ruler Joe Cordina in Manchester in July, where he took the Welshman the distance.

“I’ve waited for this moment my whole life and I’m excited for the opportunity to fight for Matchroom and have the chance to get my first regional title as a professional,” said Sheehy. “I’m coming to make a statement. This is just the start of a much bigger run.”

“I’m very excited about this opportunity to return on another Matchroom card and in Texas where there will be many Mexican and Mexican American fans coming out to support,” said Gonzalez. “I showed against Cordina in the UK that I am World-class, and Charlie is not on his level, or mine. He’s made a big mistake here and he’ll quickly understand that on May 30. Viva Mexico.”

The full undercard is announced today, with Olympic bronze medal man Omari ‘Banger’ Jones fighting for the seventh time in the paid ranks against Alan Sanchez. Jones (6-0 4 KOs) boxes over the eight round distance for the second time, having banked eight rounds in his Orlando hometown in March in a landslide triumph over the Christian Gomez, and Jones’ second outing of the year sees him tackle another experienced Mexican campaigner in Alan Sanchez (24-7-1 10 KOs).

“This is another great opportunity to show my growth,” said Jones. “I’m coming to prove a point – on May 30, the Banger Show returns.”

Foster’s stablemate Miguel Flores kicks off the action live on DAZN over ten rounds against Javon Woodard Jr. Flores (29-5-1 13 KOs) is looking to extend his winning streak to five on his Texas home turf, with his last two wins coming in Houston. The former World title challenger, who lost on points for the WBA Super-Featherweight title to Leo Santa Cruz, knows he’s in must-win territory in his hunt for big fights, but Woodard Jr (16-2 14 KOs) is on his own four-win roll following a unique ‘overtime round’ loss in Atlanta in August 2023, and the 30 year old Atlanta, Georgia man brings plenty of ambition to what promises to be an all-action live opener on DAZN.

“I am honored and privileged to be able to open the show for my stablemate ‘Shock’ Foster here in our hometown,” said Flores. “This is a huge night for the both of us and a huge night for the city of Houston. This is a make-or-break fight for me at this point in my career and there is no way I’m leaving the ring without my hand raised on May 30.”

There is plenty of young talents on the prelim section of the undercard, topped by the return of Zaquin Moses (6-0 3 KOs) the Newark, NJ starlet who is training alongside main event man Ford in Houston, and on his seventh outing in the paid ranks, the 21 year old will face Travis Crawford (7-6 2 KOs) at Lightweight.

“When you talk about the future of boxing all you need to do is lay eyes on me,” said Moses. “Houston has become my home away from home and I’m excited to show out here on May 30.”

Another rising star features on the card in the shape of Sacramento’s Frank Espinoza (3-0 3 KOs) as the 20 year old boxes for the fourth time in the pro game over six rounds against local man Bryce Blackwell (4-2 1 KO).

“First and foremost, I want to thank God for this opportunity,” said Espinoza. “I am ready to deliver a career-defining performance on May 30. I’m grateful for this opportunity and proving that I belong among the elite in this sport.”

Two more six round bouts complete the prelims and a stacked card, with unbeaten Texan Jahyden Franklin Britton (8-0 5 KOs) taking on Najee West (9-2 4 KOs) at Super-Middleweight and Las Vegas’ unbeaten Super-Featherweight Julian Montalvo (6-0 4 KOs) takes on New Mexico’s Maximus Moya (3-3 2 KOs).

FOSTER DEFENDS SUPER-FEATHERWEIGHT WORLD TITLE AGAINST FORD IN HOUSTON ON MAY 30 LIVE ON DAZN

HOUSTON, TX, April 16, 2026 – O’Shaquie Foster will defend his WBC Super-Featherweight World title against Raymond Ford at the Fertitta Center in Houston, Texas on Saturday, May 30, exclusively live worldwide on DAZN.

Houston-based Foster (24-3 12 KOs) makes the first defense of the title in his second reign as the green and gold king at 130lbs, having regained the belt in a rematch with Robson Conceicao in Turning Stone, NY in November 2024 via split decision – having surrendered the strap in the same fashion four months earlier in New Jersey.

‘Ice Water’ clinically outpointed Stephen Fulton Jr in his last outing in December in San Antonio, and returns to a Matchroom card on DAZN after serving up a fight of the year contender in October 2023 in the first defense in his initial reign as the WBC 130lb boss when he went to Mexico and stood toe-to-toe with Eduardo ‘Rocky’ Hernandez, stopping the Mexican in the final round of a rollercoaster battle.

Ford (18-1-1 8 KOs) had a similarly spectacular night when he was coronated as the WBA champion at Super-Featherweight – crashing behind enemy lines and stopping out 126lb boogeyman Otabek Kholmatov in a last-gasp triumph in Turning Stone in March 2024. ‘Savage’ is now arrowing in on becoming a two-weight World ruler and gets his shot at Foster having won three fights at 130lbs since moving up to the weight, and moving to #2 in the WBC rankings.

The pair clashed ringside at the Navarrete-Nunez fight in Phoenix in March to add fuel to the flames of this fiery match-up, and now they will settle the score in Houston – and both men are confident of a big win in Texas.

“I’m happy and excited to fight at home for the first time as a World champion – it’s a dream come true,” said Foster. “We will be 1,000 per cent prepared, and we will dominate from round one.”

“I’m just happy he finally signed the contract,” said Ford. “When it came down to it, I was the biggest fight out there for him and now it’s time to fight and I can’t wait for it. He’s a good name for my resume and I’m taking that belt on May 30 and becoming a two-weight World champion.”

“What a fight this is!” said Matchroom Chairman Eddie Hearn. “O’Shaquie is a fantastic boxer, always in exciting fights, and a worthy World ruler. But we’ve been here before – Ray stopped a Top Rank man to become king of the World in enemy territory, and on May 30, we believe lightning strikes twice and ‘Savage’ gets the strap on a magic night in Texas.”

“O’Shaquie Foster solidified his place among the division’s elite by dismantling Stephen Fulton in December,” said Top Rank President Todd duBoef. “Now, he will defend his crown on his home turf against another former World champion in Raymond Ford. Recently, there’s been a lot of animosity brewing between the two, and we expect Foster to silence the chatter with a dominant performance from him on May 30.”

Announcements on the ticket on sale dates and undercard fights will be made in due course.

Roach and Cruz Fight To Spirited Draw

Lamont Roach Jr. and Isaac Cruz fought to a 12-round majority draw in a tough fight for the WBC Interim Super Lightweight title at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.

In round three, Cruz landed a left hook that sent Roach sprawling and his left glove hit the canvas for a knockdown. +

In round seven, Cruz was deducted a point for hitting on the hip.

Cruz landed 1599 of 544 punches. Roach was 191 of 467.

Cruz, 138.6 lbs of Mexico City is 28-3-2. Roach of Washington, DC is 25-1-3.

“I knew he would stand his ground and go toe-to-toe, but I know how to box too,” said Cruz. “People don’t realize I can box.”

“Hats off to ‘Pitbull,’” said Roach. “He’s a great champion himself. I gave the fans a great fight. Back to the drawing board.”

“All I want is a fair shake,” said Roach. “I think I should have won a close victory. All I want is a fair shake. That’s it…I don’t know what I got to do. I don’t accept this at all. I clearly thought I won a close fight. I’m tired of this.”

“I did my job,” said Cruz. “I did my work. The ref was on his side. The judges too. The crowd in San Antonio saw I won this fight…Absolutely I’d do a rematch. With a different referee who is not on his side. The referee took this fight from me.”

Foster Decisions Fulton to Win Interim Lightweight Crown

Junior Lightweight titlist O’Shaquie Foster won a 12-round unanimous decision over featherweight World champion Stephen Fulton to win the WBC Interim Lightweight title.

Foster landed 191 of 600 punches. Fulton was 56 of 438.

Foster, 130 lbs of Houston, TX won by scores of 119-109,118-110 and 117 -111 and is now 24-3. Fulton, 132 lbs of Philadelphia was 2 pounds overweight for the 130 lb. bout is now 23-2.

“The game plan was to stay smart, stay sharp and get him out of there in the later rounds,” said Foster. “But he’s a damn good fighter and a veteran and he knew how to survive.”

“I want Shakur Stevenson,” said Foster. “I’ve been saying it for the longest. But it looks like he’s gonna fight at 140. So I have to choose either 130 or 135. I’ll see what happens and make a decision.”

Lara Decisions Gonzalez; Retains Middleweight Title

Erislandy Lara retained the WBA Middleweight title with a unanimous decision over late-replacement Johan Gonzalez.

Late in round 12, Lara landed three straight lefts that put Gonzalez on the canvas.

Lara.159.6 lbs of Houston won by scores of 120-108, 119-107 and 118-108 and is now 32-3-3. Gonzalez, 158.6 lbs of Las Vegas, took the fight after unified world champion Janibek Alimkhanuly failed a drug test is now 36-5.

“Gonzalez came to fight and he came to win,” said Lara. “We knew him a little bit, so we were ready for that and we made the adjustments we needed to make. He was a tough opponent who had a great opportunity in front of him, but we executed the game plan.”

“I spend all my time at the gym, so I had no problem being ready for this fight,” said Gonzalez. There are no excuses, but I did feel that Lara didn’t come to fight me the way he said he would.

“I felt a little uncomfortable in the first few rounds,” said Gonzalez. “The first knockdown was a punch and a slip. The second was a clean shot from Lara.”

“I showed the world that I’m 42-years-old and I’m still at the top of my game,” said Lara. “I can compete with the best. I don’t care at all about Janibek and I don’t wanna talk about him anymore.”

Ramos Decisions Mosley Jr. To Win Interim Middleweight Title

Jesus Ramos Jr. won a 12-round unanimous decision over Shane Mosley Jr. to win the WBC Interim Middleweight title.

Ramos landed 201 of 613 punches. Mosley was 210 of 573.

Ramos, 159.8 lbs of Casa Grande, AZ won by scores of 117-111 twice and 116-112 and is now 24-1. Mosley, 159.6lbs of Pomona, CA is 22-5.

“I was just being myself,” said Ramos. “I’m not gonna lie, it was tough. I actually had a right hand injury the last three weeks of camp. We didn’t spar for the last four weeks. So it was tough to get my timing. I would catch a rhythm and lose it. I faced a lot of obstacles but I told my family there was no way I was leaving San Antonio without a belt.”

“It was a hell of a fight,” said Mosley. “Thanks to Ramos and everyone who made this fight happen. He was the man tonight. I’ll be back and be better.”

“He never hurt me but he did surprise me,” said Ramos. “I never felt rocked, but I was surprised. He hit me with shots I wasn’t expecting. But I never felt like my legs weren’t there.”

“In those last few rounds I just kept remembering the Erickson Lubin fight,” said Ramos. “I kept getting flashbacks and I didn’t want the same thing to happen again. I kept pushing and pushing. I was in a dark place in that 10th round. I was tired, but I knew it would be worth it when the final bell rang.

“I want Carlos Adames. He’s the full champion. I don’t want the interim belt, I want the champion.”

Former world title challenger Frank Martin scored a devastating fourth round stoppage over former two-division world champion Rances Barthelemy in a 10-round junior welterweight bout.

In round two, Barthlelemy was cut above the right eye. In round four, Martin dropped Barthelemy with an overhand left. Moments later, Martin landed a perfect left to the jaw that put Barthelemy down and out at 2:56

“Man, it felt good,” said Martin after his first fight with trainer Buddy McGirt in his corner. “I felt more comfortable at this weight. I still got my speed. I felt strong. I felt better than my two fights before this. It took me a little time to warm up and get going but, then I saw the shot we’ve been working on. That’s why I took my chance and landed it.

“I feel like I got slept on. I took one loss. It’s a new era. I’m here and I’m back. No disrespect to any of the main event fighters, but I’ll fight any of them next.”

Martin, 139.4 lbs of Indianapolis, IN is 19-1 with 13 knockouts. Barthelemy, 139.8 lbs of Las Vegas is 30-4-1.

Isaac Lucero stopped Roberto Valenzuela Jr. in round eight of their 10-round super welterweight bout.

In round one, Lucero dropped Valenzuela with a clubbing right.

“He’s in trouble too. He might have his hands tied. It’s gonna be a great night, we’re gonna make sure of it.

“I could have never imagined five years ago when I was fighting in San Antonio that I’d be here now, but this is the fruits of my hard work. I want to keep progressing and evolving and doing big things.

“I know what my fans expect of me, and I’ve done everything I could in training camp to deliver on Saturday night.

“I hope he doesn’t run. It’s all about the fans and they want to see us go toe-to-toe. I’ll be ready to go for as long as he’s able to withstand the pressure.

“It’s all about being focused, smart and winning round after round.”

LAMONT ROACH

“I’m just excited to show off my skills. Nothing’s changed. We’re here to boogie. Let’s go Saturday night.

“I pride myself on how I came along in this professional journey. We all worked hard and we all got up to this stage.

“Everybody knows I like to throw. There’s gonna be some moments where the cameras better be ready. He’s throwing missiles in there and I’m gonna throw them back.

“We know what kind of fight Pitbull will bring, but we’ll be ready for everything. Anyone who’s watched me knows that I can adapt to anything.

“When I took that bump in the road, I looked at myself outside of my body and asked if this is where I wanted to be. I counted my chickens before they hatched. I definitely thought I had it in the bag in that first world title fight. That’s something that I never wanted to feel ever again in my life.”

STEPHEN FULTON JR.

“I’m just ready at this point to become a three-division world champion. I’m gonna get it done.

“I go after champions, no matter who. It coulda been somebody else. I go after champions. That’s what I do.

“I carry the banner for Philly my whole career. Look where we’re at going for my third division title. I’m gonna carry that banner the whole way.

“This is just another day, another dollar, another fight. Everybody up here took a hard road. We’re all just trying to be world champions.

“My road has prepared me well. We all go through things that push us to the next level. That’s led me to where I am now. It’s made me a better person, a better man and a better fighter.”

O’SHAQUIE FOSTER

“The time is here now. All the talking is done. I’m ready. Saturday night, there’s gonna be a man down.

“I’m ready all the way around. I feel good. This is the best mood I’ve been in on fight week in a long time. I’ve been ready.

“I’m here for a reason. I feel like I came out of the woodwork a little different. I’m gonna keep showing it.

“Last time we were here we put on a great performance and I plan on repeating it. I feel like his journey was sweet compared to mine. I came from the bottom and I’ve been grinding ever since.

“I feel like they think that they see something, like I’m a weak link for something. I’m gonna go out there and show them that they made the wrong choice.”

ERISLANDY LARA

“All I have to say is that I’m ready for December 6. I can’t wait.

“It’s all about working hard in the gym, both mentally and physically. Those hard days in the gym are the secret to being where I am right now.

“It means a lot for my father and I to be here. We started out in the garage and now we’re here. We can make our dreams a reality. We’ve been enjoying it this whole camp and this whole fight week. It’s a big moment for me and my family.

SHANE MOSLEY JR.

“This is the biggest fight of my career and the biggest fight of my life. I’m ready to show up and show out.

“I’m gonna be that guy. I have everything it takes to be the first guy to decisively beat Jesus Ramos Jr.

“My father has always influenced me and now I feel like it’s my moment to make him proud and prove him right.

“My dad won his first title with his dad in his corner and now I’m gonna win my first title with my dad in my corner.”

FRANK MARTIN

“I’m glad to be back. It’s been a minute, so I’m just excited. I’ve been working non-stop since my last fight. I’ve stayed active in the gym.

“I’ve got some new tricks in my bag that I’m ready to showcase and show everyone who I am as a fighter.

“I missed this a lot. I missed fighting. I want to fight for the fans and show them what I’ve been working on. I’m excited to be back against a game opponent. We know he’s got power and an awkward style, but we have answers.”

RANCES BARTHELEMY

“I’m super motivated because this is an opportunity to show off my skills against a top notch opponent. Frank is very talented, so I have to be at my best. But I’m more than ready to meet the challenge.

“You’re gonna see a hungry fighter that’s ready to come forward and step up to the challenge. You’re gonna see my power.”

ISAAC LUCERO

“I agree that this is gonna be a war. The best kind of war, a Mexican war. We’re gonna leave it all in the ring and I’m ready for any challenge that comes my way.

“I’m ready for what he’s bringing. When it’s time to figure out how to win the war, I’ll be more than prime to do so.

“I’m very proud to be seen as an up and coming star in Mexico. It makes me work even harder to show everyone what I’m capable of.”

ROBERTO VALENZUELA JR.

“I want to let the fans know that they can expect a great fight. It’s gonna be a war. It’s a can’t miss fight. I know that I’m gonna pull off the upset and give it my all.

“This is gonna be a war and I know I can win. This is gonna be two runaway trains going at each other. I’ve prepared to make sure I come out on top.

“I’m ready to shock the world and seize this opportunity that I’ve waited for my whole life. Winning this fight brings me one step closer to that goal.”

LUIS NUNEZ

“I’m really excited about this opportunity. I can assure you that I’m gonna be 100% ready when the bell rings.

“Bob Santos is an amazing trainer who has allowed me to grow my career in amazing ways.

“I’m not focused on my undefeated record at all, this is just another moment in my career that I’m ready to take advantage of.

HECTOR SOSA

“I’m very thankful to be on this stage. It’s a true dream come true. I’m gonna show my preparation and be ready to perform on Saturday.

The event is promoted by TGB Promotions, in association with MP Promotions, ProBox Promotions and Box Starz.

Here is what the fighters had to say Tuesday:

ERISLANDY LARA

“Janibek can think whatever he wants. We’ll see if he’s ready on December 6 and if it’s as easy as he thinks it’s gonna be. He’s gonna be in for a big surprise.

“Getting a win would mean so much for my career. Janibek is a tough opponent who represents a country with great fighting history. I haven’t faced a fighter from Kazakhstan since the amateurs, but I can’t wait.

“Boxing is everything to me and I’m still very motivated to keep climbing the ladder and reach the top. I do this for my family and for my legacy. I want to show that I’m still on top of my game.

“I’m only focused on December 6. Janibek is a tough opponent, so I’m not going to think about any other opponents. I’m going to give it everything I’ve got on December 6 and then I’ll see where we’re at.

“I’ll see you on December 6 Janibek. I’ll be ready for whatever you bring, so you better be ready too.

“I knew that I just had to wait patiently for this fight to happen. No matter what happened, I was gonna be ready for whatever came next. Whether it was me or (WBC Middleweight Champion) Carlos Adames fighting Janibek, either one of us was gonna be ready to represent Latin America.”

JANIBEK ALIMKHANULY

“In the past I’ve fought a lot of southpaws. As an amateur I was watching Lara fight in the pros. I know his style, I know what he can do, and I know what he cannot do. I don’t think this is going to be a difficult fight for me.

“Everything is going very well and we’re just waiting for fight night. Preparation is going very well and we can’t wait for December 6.

“I’m thankful to Lara for taking this fight. It’s a big honor to fight a boxer like him who’s been a two-division champion. He’s very well-known and he’s a very good fighter. It’s an honor to share the ring with him.

“Everyone knows that I want to be undisputed. Lara is holding one of the belts, so I’m just waiting for December 6 to give everyone a good show.

“I’ve studied Lara and I know his style. He’s not the first fighter I’ve faced with talent and good skills in the ring.

“When I was an amateur I fought Cuban boxers, and more recently I’ve sparred Cuban boxers. I’ve even gone to Cuba to fight before. “

STEPHEN FULTON JR.

“I don’t have a response to what he’s saying. On December 6 I’m gonna be a three-division world champion and I’m gonna go home with another belt.

“I’m coming to fight. As usual. I’m coming to fight and I’m coming to win. Whatever happens, happens. But I’m coming.

“This back and forth doesn’t give me extra motivation. This is normal. I’m done with the talking. I’m so ready to train and become a three-division world champion.

“I don’t have anything else to say to O’Shaquie. There’s nothing to talk about. I haven’t been talking to him. I’m coming to fight. It’s time to make it happen.

“Everything has just been normal for me. I only took a day or two off. I’m really just always staying active and living my life day to day.

“I really wanted this fight to happen this year and I did a couple of things to make sure it happened. The extra time might give me an advantage, but we’ll see.”

O’SHAQUIE FOSTER

“I’m glad this fight is happening. It’s supposed to have happened a couple of times. We’re fighting, so there’s animosity period. It’s not personal, but he’s trying to take something off my plate.

“This last time when the fight got pushed back it definitely pissed me off because we were so close. But it just gave me more time to prepare. I don’t ever have problems with weight, so that wasn’t affected. I’m just more prepared mentally and physically.

“All of this talk is motivation to me. I can’t lie to you. I’m having fun with it and I’m just ready to put on a show.

“We’ve said a lot, but December 6 we’re coming out there to put on a great show. This fight has been coming for the longest and I’m ready to dominate. He’s coming into my stomping grounds and I feel good about it.

“I know he made a mistake trying to make this fight period. I’m gonna go in there and dominate and show the world why he doesn’t belong in the ring with me.”

JESUS RAMOS JR.

“I’m really excited about this fight. I’ve known Shane for a while now and I know he’s a great guy. He’s preparing to the best of his abilities, so I know that we’re gonna give the fans a great show on December 6.

“He’s definitely a tough opponent. He’s got a lot of experience and he’s a hard worker who’s dedicated and disciplined. He’s a dangerous fighter for sure.

“We never sparred, but we both used to train at the same gym and used the same strength and conditioning coach. We’ve talked before and he’s a great person. I know I have to be at my best.

“Shane is a step up because he’s coming from 168. He’s supposed to be the bigger man in there. I’m gonna have to showcase different skills and my boxing abilities.

“I want the big challenges. I want Carlos Adames or I’d go back down to 154 to fight Sebastian Fundora. I’m prepared to stay at 160 though and I’d definitely fight the winner of the co-main event. But my main focus is Shane Mosley and I’m not overlooking him.

“I think we’re gonna steal the show. We’re hungry and we’re coming to win. We both want that green belt and we’re willing to do whatever it takes. It’s gonna be fireworks on December 6.

“Bringing the title back to Casa Grande would be a dream come true. I have a lot of pressure to put Casa Grande on the map and bring that belt back home.”

SHANE MOSLEY JR.

“Ramos is a great young star and a formidable opponent. I’m looking forward to this championship fight.

“It doesn’t really matter if I’m his toughest opponent. We’re gonna fight and give it our all and try to win. Everything that happened before doesn’t matter.

“My experience can help me. I have to be at my best. He’s a young, hungry fighter. So I have to be sharp.

“I’ve just been staying focused, staying committed and taking it one step at a time. You just have to focus on what’s in front of you and take the challenges as they come.

“Everyone is in for a great night of fights. This is a stacked card. Any of these fights could be a headliner. The fans are in for a real treat. I’m 100% ready to go.

“This is the biggest fight of my life. It’s for the title. I’ve fought my whole career for this moment and I’m thankful for the opportunity.”

**ERISLANDY LARA VS. JANIBEK ALIMKHANULY**

In the co-main event, reigning world champions will look for 160-pound supremacy as WBA Middleweight World Champion Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara faces WBO and IBF Middleweight World Champion Janibek Alimkhanuly in a 12-round showdown that serves as the biggest middleweight matchup in years. Lara vs. Alimkhanuly is promoted in association with Top Rank.

Lara (31-3-3, 19 KOs) has been dominant in his run at 160-pounds, showing off his ability to go toe-to-toe and end a fight with one punch, after establishing himself as one of boxing’s best technical fighters throughout the first part of his career. His last fight saw one of the best performances of his career as he stopped the durable former two-division world champion Danny Garcia in September 2024. He captured his WBA title with a first-round knockout of Thomas LaManna in May 2021, before KO’ing Gary O’Sullivan and Michael Zerafa. Prior to his middleweight exploits, Lara was the longest reigning 154-pound world champion before he lost a tough split-decision to Jarrett Hurd in a 2018 title unification match that earned “Fight of the Year” from the BWAA. Lara returned from that fight and battled former 154-pound world titleholder Brian Castaño to an exciting draw in another narrow fight that could have gone Lara’s way. He faced a slew of the top 154-pounders in the sport, including Canelo Álvarez, ahead of his middleweight debut.

“I’ve faced the best throughout my career and this is no different,” said Lara. “Janibek is a strong, skilled opponent, but I’ve never backed down from a challenge. On December 6, I will become unified middleweight champion of the world and take one step closer toward securing my place in the Hall of Fame. Don’t miss this fight!”

After representing his native Kazakhstan in the 2016 Olympics, Alimkhanuly (17-0, 12 KOs) embarked on his pro career in October of that year, quickly rising up the rankings by taking on a slew of contenders from the outset. He won an interim title May 2022 by knocking out the previously unbeaten Danny Dignum, and was later elevated to world champion. He followed that up with a unanimous decision over Denzel Bentley and a KO of Steven Butler, before successfully unifying world titles with a stoppage of then undefeated Vincenzo Gualtieri in October 2023. The 32-year-old, who now trains in California, has beaten three-straight undefeated opponents, most recently taking down Andrei Mikhailovich in October 2020 ahead of his most recent outing that ended with a TKO of Anauel Ngamissengue in a hometown fight in Kazakhstan this past April.

“My goal is to unify four belts and make my name a part of history,” said Alimkhanuly. “I’ve been working tirelessly on this path. I’ve been calling out champions for a long time, and Lara agreed. The big fight is on December 6! God willing, I’ll win my third title. History is almost made!”

**STEPHEN FULTON JR. VS. O’SHAQUIE FOSTER**

In a 12-round co-main attraction, top pound-for-pound fighter Stephen Fulton Jr., who currently holds the WBC Featherweight World Championship, will look to become a three-division champion when he takes on the reigning WBC Super Featherweight World Champion O’Shaquie Foster in a 130-pound grudge match between current world champions. Fulton vs. Foster is promoted in association with Top Rank.

Born and raised in West Philadelphia, Pa., Fulton (23-1, 8 KOs) became a two-division champion in his last outing, vanquishing his longtime rival Brandon Figueroa in their February rematch via decision to capture the WBC Featherweight World Championship. It was Fulton’s second fight since a July 2023 challenge that saw him travel to Japan to take on undefeated Japanese superstar Naoya Inoue, eventually dropping the road contest in round eight. In his previous 14 professional fights before facing Inoue, the 30-year-old had established himself on pound-for-pound lists by beating eight previously undefeated fighters. Fulton first became a world champion by taking the super bantamweight title from Angelo Leo in January 2021, before unifying against Figueroa in their first fight. Trained in his hometown, Fulton has displayed sublime boxing skills that have allowed him to dominate opponents of varying styles and control fights from start to finish.

“I’ll be more than ready on December 6,” said Fulton. “The fans should expect a great fight from me and for me to become a three-division, four-time world champion! I will win and dominate this fight.”

Foster (23-3, 12 KOs) bounced back from decision losses in 2015 and 2016 to put together a nine-fight winning streak that earned him a February 2023 showdown against two-division champion Rey Vargas. Foster outboxed the previously unbeaten Vargas on his way to a unanimous decision that earned him the WBC Super Featherweight World Championship. Originally from Orange, Texas and training in nearby Houston, Foster’s first defense of his title saw him score a clutch final round stoppage of Eduardo Hernandez while trailing on two scorecards. After a successful title defense over Abraham Nova, Foster temporarily lost the belt via a controversial split-decision to Robson Conceicao. In his last outing, the 31-year-old reclaimed his title with his own decision triumph over Conceicao.

“The 130-pound division runs through me,” said Foster. “Respect to Stephen Fulton for stepping up in weight, but he’ll find out real soon that he should have stayed at featherweight. I’ve gone through a lot in this game to become a two-time world champion. I’m ready to take full advantage of this opportunity.”

**JESUS RAMOS JR. VS. SHANE MOSLEY JR.**

The pay-per-view lineup opens with a 12-round matchup between two top contenders with long established resumes as rising Mexican star Jesus “Mono” Ramos Jr. meets the streaking Shane Mosley Jr. for the Interim WBC Middleweight Title.

After coming up on the wrong end of a contested decision against top contender Erickson Lubin in September 2023, Ramos (23-1, 19 KOs) has returned in style with three-straight stoppages. Ramos has already earned two victories in 2024, blasting out the former unified champion Jeison Rosario in the eighth-round of their February matchup before most recently defeating Guido Emmanuel Schramm in round seven in March. A native of Casa Grande, Ariz., Ramos had worked his way up the rankings by defeating a slew of contenders including Brian Mendoza, Javier Molina, Vladimir Hernandez and an emphatic stoppage of the then-unbeaten Joey Spencer. Trained by his father Jesus Sr., and the nephew of veteran contender Abel, the 24-year-old Ramos entered the Lubin fighting having stopped seven of his last 10 opponents.

“There’s a new date but it’s the same mission,” said Ramos. “I will be more than ready on December 6 to showcase everything we’ve been working on in this extended training camp. I’m going to end this little winning streak that Mosley Jr. has been on and introduce myself to all the fans in San Antonio in impressive fashion.”

The son of boxing Hall of Famer Shane Mosley, Mosley Jr. (22-4, 12 KOs) has established his own place in the sport and enters this fight on a five-bout winning streak, including a career-best victory over former two-time middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs in July 2024. The 33-year-old Los Angeles area native now trains in Las Vegas and prior to the Jacobs win had scored stoppage victories over D’Mitrius Ballard in June 2023 and Joshua Conley in December of that same year. Mosley fought his way to the final round of the 2018 edition of The Contender series, dropping a decision to Brandon Adams in the finale. Mosley has never been stopped in his four defeats, with three of those losses coming narrowly via either split or majority decision.

“I’m excited to have the fight back on,” said Mosley Jr. “Especially being on such a great card from top to bottom. I can’t wait to get back in the ring and show the world my greatness. San Antonio let’s go!”

VIDEO: STEPHEN FULTON JR. VS. O’SHAQUIE FOSTER VIRTUAL PRESS CONFERENCE

STEPHEN FULTON JR. VS. O’SHAQUIE FOSTER VIRTUAL PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

LAS VEGAS – September 24, 2025 – WBC Featherweight World Champion Stephen Fulton Jr. and WBC Super Featherweight World Champion O’Shaquie Foster previewed their battle of champions during a virtual press conference Wednesday before they step into the ring on Saturday, October 25 as the co-main event of a PBC Pay-Per-View on Prime Video event from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Fulton and Foster will battle for Foster’s 130-pound world title in a champion vs. champion duel between two fighters who’ve now gone back-and-forth during multiple media events proclaiming their confidence in victory on October 25.

The jam-packed four-fight card begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and is topped by WBC Super Welterweight World Champion Sebastian “The Towering Inferno” Fundora looking to continue his 154-pound reign against the former unified world champion Keith “One Time” Thurman, who hopes to bolster his Hall of Fame credentials with another signature victory in the main event.

Tickets for the live event are available now through AXS.com.

In addition to being available for purchase on Prime Video, regardless of Prime membership, fans will also be able to continue to access the telecast through traditional cable and satellite outlets as well as PPV.com.

The event is promoted by TGB Promotions and Sampson Boxing.

Here is what Fulton and Foster had to say Wednesday:

STEPHEN FULTON JR.

“Fans can expect an action-packed fight. We’re two young, hungry fighters putting it all on the line and leaving everything in the ring. We’re gonna get in there and throw that leather. I will become three-division world champion.

“He’s a fighter and he believes in his skills. Same as me. I can’t say anything bad about that. My job is to show him that there are levels and that experience matters. I’m gonna show my talent as well.

“This fight is helping to put me in the Hall of Fame. It would help stamp it. That’s why it’s an important fight for me.

“We’re taking things away from his game and focusing on my strengths. We’re going to make enhancements with everything we do. We’re working hard.

“I think I gained more than I lost, especially in my mental space, since fighting Naoya Inoue. That’s allowed me to fight better. I’m in a better headspace and really that loss is the best thing to happen to me. I know not to put my energy into things I can’t control. If my mental is perfect, I fight perfect.

“I’m gonna be a lot better in this fight at this weight. I’m going to be more comfortable and closer to the weight I rehydrate to. There’s no step too big when you’re trying to be great.

“I’m just in a good space right now. I’m happy and enjoying myself. I don’t have to take it too seriously. That makes me a better version of myself in the ring.

“My mentality changed from losing and seeing who turned their back and how people treated me. Those life lessons forced me to be patient. I take that patience into the ring as well. It’s a fast-paced sport, but you have to be patient.

“A lot of people say he’s gonna win and a lot of people say I’m gonna win. But none of those opinions matter when we get into the ring.

“I understand his frustrations, but business is business. I’ve been in that space before and know how things go. I just let things go as they go.”

O’SHAQUIE FOSTER

“It’s gonna be fireworks, but we’re standing on business. That belt isn’t going anywhere.

“I thought he had nervous energy at our first face off. Whatever energy I bring, I’m bringing the same energy every time. I have to look at these people like they’re taking something off my plate. But I’m not playing.

“This is the biggest moment of my career because this fight will take me where I want to go in the sport. This is the most important fight of my career.

“This isn’t gonna be like Terence Crawford moving up in weight. That’s not happening. I’m handling business.

“I didn’t think it was that great a performance from Fulton in the rematch against Brandon Figueroa. It was a good performance and he won, but I feel like people are trying to make it something it’s not. I thought he was actually better in the first fight.

“I don’t think about the judges too much. If I’m worried about that, I won’t fight to my full ability. The first fight with Robson Conceicao though did teach me to not be complacent and finish strong. I’m not trying to let it go to decision. I have to be consistent the whole fight.

“We could say I had a rough last year and I feel like ever since then, people don’t think I’m worthy of my status. People think it’s sweet. But I know my potential and I’ve made some changes. So you’re gonna see a different me. I’m gonna be the best, sharpest fighter that I’ve been.

“I feel like I’m being disrespected. We’re fighting for my title. That’s where all my energy came from at the first press conference. I’m planning on making everyone pay for it on October 25.

“The Fulton fight is the perfect opportunity for me to get an opponent who’s more accomplished in front of me. He’s a good name on my resume. We’ve been watching him and it’s a good fight that came across our table.

“I’ve just been sharpening my tools the whole time while this fight was being locked in. I’ve just been making sure that I’m gonna be the most skilled when I get into the ring.”

Here is what the press conference participants had to say Wednesday from The Mayan in Los Angeles:

SEBASTIAN FUNDORA

“Keith was one of the pound-for-pound best, but it’s time for a new champion and I believe I can be the face of this sport. I can’t wait for fight night and we’ll see you in the ring on October 25.

“I do believe I’m the best at 154 right now. I’m focused on continuing this reign and doing what I’ve been doing.

“A win would continue to show that I’m doing the right thing. We’ve come so far headlining a pay-per-view as the ‘A-side’ and it shows how blessed I am. I’m gonna keep doing my job and keep winning.

“The fans want to see their favorite fighters fight. I’m glad that I’m in the ring constantly and I’m grateful for the opportunities.

“While I was coming up I was taking tough fights and learning on the job. Now at this level, everyone you fight is tough. But we learned on the way and it’s got me prepared for this moment.

“This is gonna be a great fight. I’m happy that I have an opponent like Thurman who comes to bang and is ready to make it an exciting night.

“In boxing, anything can happen. But we train very hard to win and that’s the only thing we plan on doing on October 25.”

KEITH THURMAN

“This is what the sport is all about. You put Thurman’s name next to anybody and I guarantee you it’s gonna be a fight you won’t wanna miss.

“I’m about to conquer Mount Everest himself. They call him ‘The Towering Inferno’, but I’ve been in the fire. This is what I live for right here. This is the top of the sport.

“Once I get the WBC title, people won’t have a reason to say no to a Keith Thurman fight. I’ve been waiting through the setbacks. With the truly great champions, you can’t stop them from becoming champion once again.

“This is gonna be an action packed fight with all these fighters, but I guarantee that the main event is gonna be a don’t blink battle of champions.

“I had to stay on the sidelines over the summer to make this happen. This is a beautiful opportunity to step up. You have to see it to believe it, and I truly believe it’s gonna be timber on October 25.

“Everything that’s happened in the past is water under the bridge. All you can do today is put your best foot forward. I’ve been through so much throughout my career. But here I am right here right now, back where I belong.

“Last year I was down the street at a press conference to fight Tim Tszyu, and Fundora was on the stage. You all know the story of what happened next. He elevated himself to this status and he’s earned what he has today.

“I guess you can call me the ‘OG’ or whatever you want. But I’m here today because of the love I have in my heart for boxing. I love making people love boxing. That’s what it’s all about. That’s what big fights are all about.

STEPHEN FULTON JR.

“I’m not really focused on the title of becoming a three-division champion. I’m motivated by fighting other champions. That’s why I moved up in weight. But it will feel great to accomplish my goals.

“I’m a big boy and I feel good at the weight. I feel really good. I’m a dog. I don’t care how big people are. I’ve fought the biggest and strongest.

“We’re back October 25. I’m thankful to everyone who put this fight together and I’ll see you in the ring.

“I’m a three-division world champion on October 25. I don’t have to say much. That’s my end goal and I’m gonna accomplish it.

“He’s saying everything he’s supposed to say right now. I understand where he’s at. It’s what I expected.

“I don’t really care what people or other fighters have to say. Sometimes I feel like they’re just speaking from nerves.

“I’m not going anywhere. I’m not about the back and forth. It’s just nerves from him. I don’t get phased by size or what people say. My experience talks and my heart talks. I don’t have to put on a façade.

O’SHAQUIE FOSTER

“October 25 is gonna be a great night. I’m coming to put on a dominant show. I know my opponent is gonna be ready, but we’re gonna be sending him back down. Trust me.

“It’s gonna be domination. I’m gonna put on a show and I’m gonna look good doing it.

“You’re going back down and you’re gonna defend that title. I’m gonna show everyone who’s doubting me. I’m gonna show y’all. I’m gonna talk and I’m gonna show you.

“For me this is the biggest moment of my career. It’s the first time on pay-per-view and I’m against my most accomplished opponent.

“All I have to do is go make a statement against him and put on a show. Once I show everyone what I’m really about, there won’t be any questions about me.

“He’s coming from 122-pounds if we’re being real. He’s just walking around heavy. I think it’s gonna play a factor but it’s my skills that are gonna pay the bills.”

JESUS RAMOS JR.

“I’ve had an active year and I’m excited to get another one in before the year ends. Mosley’s gonna have to show up to fight night, and I’ll handle the rest.

“Mosley has some good momentum coming into his fight and he’s beaten good names. He can be the perfect fighter if you allow him to be. He’s very technical, but we’re gonna make him uncomfortable and try to get him out of there.

“I feel like I can bring new energy to the middleweight division and be the face of the division. It all starts on October 25.

“Being on big cards and having experienced all of that gives me a different confidence. I’m excited to showcase my talent on a big card with so much talent on it.

“I’m coming to knock Mosley out. That’s the mindset. I’m gonna try every round to inflict more damage than the previous round. We’re gonna break him down.

“Middleweight will be a good weight class for me. I think the extra six pounds will be to my benefit. The power has translated so far and I think it’ll be more of the same on October 25.”

TOM BROWN, President of TGB Promotions

“We are all pumped up for this card. The 154-pound division is the hottest in boxing today. There’s some great fights in the division scheduled for the next few months, but we’ve got the number one fighter in the division in Sebastian Fundora headlining this card. This fight against Thurman is the best and biggest in the division. Fundora gives fans exactly what they want in every fight. He’s just pure brutality, and he’s still getting better.

“It’s also great to have Keith Thurman back headlining a major event. He’s battle tested at the highest level. His run at welterweight unifying the titles was tremendous and now he’s back and healthy and ready to take his shot at becoming a two-division world champion.

“I’m thrilled to have Stephen Fulton Jr. back here moving up to challenge O’Shaquie Foster for his 130 pound title in the co-main event. Foster just won the title and he’s not looking to give it up.

“Plus we also have Jesus Ramos Jr. taking on Shane Mosley Jr., and Ramos is another all-action fighter looking for a title. This is going to be a great event and we’ll see everyone out there at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.”

“Keith Thurman is an excellent fighter and a great champion. A victory over him will further cement Sebastian Fundora’s legacy as the world’s best super welterweight,” said Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing. “

**SEBASTIAN FUNDORA VS. KEITH THURMAN**

The main event will see Sebastian “The Towering Inferno” Fundora look to make the third defense of his WBC crown against the former unified welterweight world champion Keith “One Time” Thurman in a 12-round duel for super welterweight supremacy.

Fundora (23-1-1, 15 KOs) first rocketed to the top of the super welterweight division by dethroning Tim Tszyu via decision in 2024’s bloodiest fight, earning both the WBC and WBO titles. After defending his belts with a knockout of Chordale Booker in March, Fundora put his WBC belt back on the line in a July rematch against Tszyu. This time, Fundora closed the show in style, dropping Tszyu in the first round before forcing an end to the bout after round seven. A native of Coachella, California, Fundora notably showed his mettle in April 2022, battling the hard-hitting Erickson Lubin in an instant 2022 Fight of the Year contender. Despite both men hitting the canvas, Fundora stood tall in the end, prompting Lubin’s corner to stop the fight at the end of the ninth round. The 27-year-old has defeated a slew of contenders throughout his career, with his only defeat coming to Brian Mendoza in 2023. Standing nearly six-feet, six-inches, Fundora represents one of boxing’s most accomplished families, as he is trained by his father Freddy alongside his younger sister, undisputed flyweight world champion Gabriela. The two fighting Fundora’s are the first brother and sister to simultaneously hold world championships.

“I’m excited to be in the ring again for the third time this year versus another former champion,” said Fundora. “Our preparation is on track. Expect a great performance from Fundora.”

Clearwater, Florida’s Thurman (31-1, 23 KOs) has assembled one of the most impressive resumes among the top welterweights of this generation, having defeated former champions Shawn Porter, Danny Garcia and Robert Guerrero in high-profile clashes, unifying the WBA and WBC titles against Garcia in a rare unification bout between undefeated welterweight world champions. Thurman’s only blemish came in a 2019 Fight of the Year against boxing legend Manny Pacquiao, with Thurman ending up on the wrong side of a narrow split-decision. Thurman bounced back against the now reigning WBC Welterweight World Champion Mario Barrios by winning a unanimous decision in February 2022. He was set to face Australian superstar Tim Tszyu in March 2024 before being forced to withdraw due to injury, eventually returning to the ring this March with a third-round stoppage of Brock Jarvis.

“I’m honored to be back and fighting for the WBC Super Welterweight World Championship,” said Thurman. “Fundora was never really on my radar, but he’s proven himself to be a tough champion with only one loss, just like me. Every time he steps in the ring he grows, and I know this isn’t an easy fight for anyone in the division, but I didn’t come this far to shy away from Everest, or in this case Mt. Fundora. On October 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, I’m climbing that mountain. This is how history is made. From childhood, I’ve dreamed of overcoming challenges like this. Call it David vs. Goliath, but remember – I’m Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman. I’m walking straight into the fire and it’s going to be a fight you don’t want to miss.”

**STEPHEN FULTON JR. VS. O’SHAQUIE FOSTER**

In the 12-round co-main event, top pound-for-pound fighter Stephen Fulton Jr., who currently holds the WBC Featherweight World Championship, will look to become a three-division champion when he takes on the reigning WBC Super Featherweight World Champion O’Shaquie Foster in a 130-pound grudge match between current world champions.

“I’m ready to become a three-division world champion,” said Fulton. “I expect him to be ready, but that’s why I’m training to be at my best on October 25. We’re gonna be prepared for anything he brings and do whatever it takes to have my hand raised. I’m coming to steal the show!”

“Respect to Stephen Fulton Jr. for stepping up in weight, but he’ll find out real soon that he should have stayed at featherweight. I’ve gone through a lot in this game to become a two-time world champion. I will take full advantage of this opportunity.”

**JESUS RAMOS JR. VS. SHANE MOSLEY JR.**

The pay-per-view lineup also features a matchup between two top contenders with long established resumes as rising Mexican star Jesus “Mono” Ramos Jr. meets the streaking Shane Mosley Jr. for the Interim WBC Middleweight Title.

“I’m excited to be going for my first title against a great fighter in Shane Mosley Jr.,” said Ramos. “This title shot is long overdue and I’m ready to become champion. I still have title aspirations at 154-pounds and several names in that division that I’m hoping to fight, but first I’m fully focused on Shane Mosley Jr. He is on a nice little winning streak and I plan to put it to an end on October 25.”

“I’m thrilled for this opportunity in front of me on October 25,” said Mosley Jr. “I also want to express my gratitude to the WBC and everyone who helped make this fight happen. This is the biggest fight of my career, and I’ll be fully prepared to give it my all.”

**ISAAC LUCERO**

Fresh off of a dominant KO win on Prime Video in May, undefeated rising contender Isaac “La Bestia” Lucero will look to continue his momentum opening up pay-per-view action.

The 26-year-old Lucero (17-0, 13 KOs) turned pro in 2019 after an amateur career that saw him earn five national medals representing Mexico. A native of La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico, Lucero has stopped his last six opponents entering October 25, and also owns a pair of 10-round unanimous decision triumphs. In looking to make his U.S. takeover, Lucero has set up camp in Las Vegas, where he is trained by renowned coach Bob Santos, who led him to victory in May as he stopped the previously undefeated Omar Valenzuela in two rounds.

Foster Defeats Conceicao by Split Decision; Recaptures 130-Pound Title

O’Shaquie Foster recaptured the WBC Super Featherweight title with a 12-round split decision over Robson Conceicao at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York.

The fight was a rematch of a fight from July that saw Conceicao win the title from Foster in a close and may controversial decision in Newark, New Jersey.

Much like the first battle, this was a closely contested fight, but the difference was the work done by Foster down the stretch that saw him win by scores of 115-113, while Conceicao took a card 115-113.

Foster landed 172 of 534 punches. Conceicao was 153 of 565.

Foster, 129.9 lbs of Orange, TX is 23-3. Conceicao, 129.7 lbs of Brazil is 19-3-1.

Foster said, “Man, he’s a hell of a fighter. His heart is unbelievable. Shoutout to him. He’s got a big heart.”

“I told y’all I was gonna step it up and bring it to him. That was my goal. I still ain’t satisfied with my performance, but I felt like I showed a lot of people my versatility.”

“I want the winner of Emanuel Navarrete vs. Oscar Valdez.”

Conceição said, “I’m happy because I know what I did in the ring. I did a good job, so there’s no reason to be sad. I know the victory wasn’t mine tonight, but I know that I did a good job.”

“If he wants the rematch, I’ll be ready. I gave him a rematch, so I think he should show the same respect to me by giving me the third fight.

Muratalla Stops Perez in 2

Press Conference Notes: Robson Conceição and O’Shaquie Foster Promise to Settle Rivalry in Saturday’s World Title Rematch

VERONA, N.Y. (Oct. 31, 2024) — Less than four months after their first clash, Robson Conceição and O’Shaquie Foster are ready to settle unfinished business.

Conceição (19-2-1, 9 KOs) will defend his WBC junior lightweight title against Foster (22-3, 12 KOs) this Saturday, Nov. 2, at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York. Conceição took the crown with a split decision in July. He believes he was the rightful victor, while Foster has been fueled by a desire to become a two-time world champion.

In the 10-round co-feature, rising lightweight contender Raymond Muratalla (21-0, 16 KOs) returns against Mexican warrior Jesus Perez (25-5, 18 KOs).

Conceição-Foster II and Muratalla-Perez will stream live and exclusively in the U.S. on ESPN+ at approximately 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. The undercard will start at 5:50 p.m. ET/2:50 p.m. PT.

Local favorite Bryce Mills (16-1, 5 KOs), from nearby Syracuse, New York, will see action in an eight-round junior welterweight tilt versus Mike Ohan Jr. (19-3, 9 KOs), while former world title challenger Abraham “El Super” Nova (23-3, 16 KOs) will take on Humberto Galindo (14-3-2, 11 KOs) in a 10-rounder at junior lightweight.

Promoted by Top Rank, tickets are on sale and can be purchased at the Turning Stone Resort Casino Box Office, charge by phone by calling 800.771.7711, or online at Ticketmaster.com.

This is what the fighters had to say at Thursday’s press conference.
 Robson Conceição

“This fight is personal for me because I feel that a champion is a fighter who goes out there and doesn’t run around, who looks for the fight, who tries to win, and doesn’t just throw one or two punches and then moves away.”

“This has happened to me before, in fact, with Oscar Valdez and Emanuel Navarrete. I didn’t have the luck those nights, but I always go in there with the desire to fight. So, he’s going to have to fight for a second time against me as a result of that.”

“I had a really good camp. For the first fight, I didn’t have a great camp because I had a lot of pain. I even had an illness in that last camp, and so even with that, I was still able to win. But this time, I had a really great camp. It was a good, clean preparation, so I’m going to win in even better fashion this time.”

O’Shaquie Foster

“I’ve been good. I’ve just been grinding. But I hope he knows the name of the game is to hit and not get hit. That’s the name of the game. I’ve been in good spirits. I’m ready.”

“I ain’t really trying to dwell on the judges {in the first fight}. I wish them the best, but this fight, I plan on coming in and dominating to the best of my ability.”

“We plan on doing stuff different, and we plan on stepping to him. I hope he knows that. He’s talking and doing all that. I hope he had the best camp because we had a great camp, too. Everybody goes into fights with injuries and sicknesses, so I don’t want to hear that excuse. Saturday, it’s going to be showtime.”

Raymond Muratalla

“I think these fights are the types of fights I need to show my skills and to prove I deserve those title fights.”

“Every fight, I’m looking to make a statement, so I can get these title fights that I want.”

Jesus Perez

“I had a good preparation for this fight, and the fighter who will win is the one who is best prepared for this fight.”

“We’re ready. We’re made for challenges. I like challenges, and God willing, with a win and a good fight, I will show that it’s no lucky shot. I’ll show that I was ready for any fighter.”

Bryce Mills

“The best fights are the ones that are close to home, where I can get loved ones, my family, and all my supporters out to support me. And make no mistake about it, on November 2, I’m coming to put on a show.”

“The sport of boxing is my life, so in a lot of ways, it’s difficult to view my life without boxing because this is all I know. I live, eat, and breathe this sport. And I will until the day I retire.”

Abraham Nova

“It’s a blessing to be miles away from my hometown {Albany} and have the fans come and support me.”

On coming back following two close decision defeats

“Boxing is a very subjective sport, but the fans know who the champ is and how you present yourself in the ring. The last two fights didn’t go my way, but this is called perseverance. You have to keep taking these challenges and keep showing the world who you are because those three judges don’t see you as the champion… but the fans know who you really are. I fight to win, but I also fight for the fans. So, if I give the fans a fight and they feel like I won, I’m happy with that.”

“I’m 30 years young, not 30 years old. It’s just a number. I have a great family and great genetics behind me. I’m doing this for a long time. I feel I haven’t shown any injuries, ring rust, or things like that. On Saturday night, I’m going to display my skills and my youth.”

Top Rank Presents Junior Lightweight World Championship: Robson Conceição vs. O’Shaquie Foster 2

Top Rank Boxing on ESPN: Conceição vs. Foster 2 will be presented live this Saturday, November 2, at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York. Starting at 5:50 p.m. ET/2:50 p.m. PT, the entire card will stream live and exclusively on ESPN+. The co-feature will begin at approximately 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

In the main event, Robson Conceição will defend his WBC junior lightweight world title against O’Shaquie Foster.  Conceição dethroned Foster via split decision in a fiercely contested matchup less than four months ago.

Conceição (19-2-1, 9 KOs), Brazil’s first Olympic boxing gold medalist, turned pro in 2016, with his only losses coming in world title showdowns against then-unbeaten world champions Oscar Valdez (2021) and Shakur Stevenson (2022). After a no contest against Nicolas Polanco and a draw against WBO junior lightweight world champion Emanuel Navarrete in 2023, Conceição stopped Jose Guardado in April before capturing a world title in his fourth attempt.

Foster (23-3, 12 KOs) turned pro in 2012 after a decorated amateur career with more than 100 fights and a U.S. Olympic team alternate spot. Despite early setbacks, he rebounded with a 12-fight winning streak, snatching the WBC crown in 2023 by outpointing Rey Vargas. He defended his title with a thrilling 12th-round stoppage of Rocky Hernandez last October and a hard-fought decision over Abraham Nova in February.

In the 10-round co-feature, lightweight contender Raymond Muratalla returns against the upset-hungry Jesus Perez.

The 27-year-old Muratalla (21-0, 16 KOs) had a flawless 2023, going 3-0 with three knockouts. In March, he recovered from a first-round knockdown to stop Galindo in the ninth, and in May, he dismantled Jeremia Nakathila in two rounds. He closed out the year by defeating Mexican puncher Diego Torres. Muratalla has continued his momentum this year with decision victories over Xolisani Ndongeni in March and former world champion Tevin Farmer in July.

Perez (25-5, 18 KOs), from Tijuana, Mexico, started his career 21-0 with 16 knockouts before his first loss in 2018. In his latest outing, he upset former world champion Joseph Diaz Jr. by split decision.

Timothy Bradley, Jr., Mark Kriegel, and Bernardo Osuna will call the action.

New! The ESPN Original Series “The Fight Life”  premiered October 7 and chronicles a year in the world of Top Rank Boxing through the journeys of five of the sport’s elite boxers: Tyson Fury, Naoya Inoue, Seniesa Estrada, Teofimo Lopez, and Josh Taylor.

Robson Conceição: “I Will Show Why I’m The Champion!”

LAS VEGAS (Oct. 23, 2024) — Robson Conceição is eager to prove that his world title victory over O’Shaquie Foster was no fluke.

Conceição will make the inaugural defense of his WBC junior lightweight world championship against Foster on Saturday, Nov. 2, at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York.

Conceição edged Foster by split decision in July, a verdict that many boxing experts deemed controversial. Feeling disrespected by the criticism, the Brazilian Olympic gold medalist is determined to prove the naysayers wrong and defeat Foster again.

Conceição-Foster II headlines a stacked card that will stream live and exclusively in the U.S. on ESPN+.

Promoted by Top Rank, tickets are on sale and can be purchased at the Turning Stone Resort Casino Box Office, charge by phone by calling 800.771.7711, or online at Ticketmaster.com.

Conceição (19-2-1, 9 KOs) is no stranger to narrow decisions. In his first title shot against Oscar Valdez in September 2021, he lost a closely contested unanimous decision. Last November, he fought Emanuel Navarrete to a disputed majority draw in a bid for the WBO 130-pound title. After stopping Jose Guardado in seven rounds in April, Conceição secured his fourth title opportunity and finally captured world title glory.

Following a recent training session at the Top Rank Gym in Las Vegas, this is what Conceição had to say:

“The criticism of the last fight was tremendously disrespectful, especially because I had already been in two big fights like this before, against Oscar Valdez and Emanuel Navarrete. There were two fights where I could have been the champion and emerged victorious.”

“Foster’s team wasn’t happy with my victory. But he should have asserted himself more in the fight as a champion. He ran and avoided the fight the entire time.”

“I showed that I deserved the win and should have come out as the champion. I was the one asserting myself the entire time. I was the one landing a lot of punches. So, today, I’m a world champion because I earned it and fought for it.”

“This is the way that I think. If you’re the champion, you have to show why you’re the champion. You have to assert yourself and try to knock your opponent out. You’re not supposed to run the entire time. You’re not supposed to throw single shots.”

“Now, he has another opportunity. But I’m the champion now. I will show why I’m the champion. I will assert myself and go for the knockout. I’m coming to hit him hard and often.”

O’Shaquie Foster: “I’m Going To Let My Hands Go!”

HOUSTON, Texas (Oct. 21, 2024) — Former world champion O’Shaquie Foster has unfinished business.

The 31-year-old will face Robson Conceição for the WBC junior lightweight world title on Saturday, Nov. 2, at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York. Foster lost his title to Conceição via split decision in July, a controversial verdict that left him angered and motivated to become a two-time world champion.

After a decorated amateur career, Foster (22-3, 12 KOs) turned pro in 2012. After early setbacks, he rebounded with a 12-fight winning streak under trainer Bobby Benton, capturing the WBC strap by outpointing Rey Vargas in February 2023. Foster defended his crown with a thrilling 12th-round stoppage of Rocky Hernandez on enemy turf before outboxing Abraham Nova to a points verdict in his second defense.

Following a recent training session in Houston, this is what Foster had to say:

“The fight was easy. I didn’t see where the judges got that decision. But the fight was easy for me. I only saw that I could have been more active and let my hands go in certain situations more.”

“There are a lot of things I can do in that ring. I feel like I could have just put more combinations. I could have done a little bit more. But now I get the opportunity to do it again. Not everybody gets that opportunity. A lot of times, people get robbed, and they don’t they don’t get the rematch. So, I’m fortunate to get that rematch, and I’m looking to let my hands go more.”

“I feel like he might try to come out and do something different, but if you watch his fights, he fights the same way every time. He doesn’t switch it up too much. But, in my eyes, I’m just focused on what I can do. I’m good with rematches. I used to get them a lot in the amateurs and always avenged them. This is my first one in the pros, so I’m excited about it. It’s going to be fun.”

“I want the biggest fights. We’ve got the Emanuel Navarrete vs. Oscar Valdez fight on December 7. So, I feel like it will line up perfectly.”

Run It Back: Robson Conceição-O’Shaquie Foster II Confirmed for Nov. 2 at Turning Stone Resort Casino LIVE on ESPN+

VERONA, N.Y. (Sept. 9, 2024) — As the debate over their first encounter remains intense, Robson Conceição and O’Shaquie Foster are wasting no time running it back.

Conceição will defend his WBC junior lightweight world title against Foster on Saturday, Nov. 2, at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York. Conceição dethroned Foster via split decision in a fiercely contested matchup in July.

In the 10-round co-feature, lightweight contender Raymond Muratalla returns against the upset-hungry Jesus Perez.

Conceição-Foster II and Muratalla-Perez headline a stacked card that will stream live and exclusively in the U.S. on ESPN+.

Former world title challenger Abraham “El Super” Nova (23-3, 16 KOs) will see action on the undercard in a 10-round junior lightweight tilt against Mexico’s Humberto Galindo (14-3-2, 11 KOs). Nova looks to end 2024 on a high note after close split decision losses to Foster in February and Andres Cortes in June.

Local favorite Bryce Mills (16-1, 5 KOs), from nearby Liverpool, New York, faces former world title challenger Hank Lundy (32-14-1, 14 KOs) in an eight-round junior welterweight contest.

Promoted by Top Rank, tickets go on sale Friday, Sept. 13 at 10 a.m. ET and can be purchased at the Turning Stone Resort Casino Box Office, charge by phone by calling 800.771.7711, or online at Ticketmaster.com.

“Conceição and Foster are eager to prove themselves following their initial fight,” said Top Rank Chairman Bob Arum. “This rematch is about setting things straight. Both want to show who the better man is, which will make for an exciting, competitive matchup, with the winner positioning himself for a chance at a unification bout.”

Conceição (19-2-1, 9 KOs), Brazil’s first Olympic boxing gold medalist, turned professional in November 2016. His losses have been to unbeaten world champions, suffering a narrow points defeat to then-WBC champ Oscar Valdez in September 2021 and a loss to Shakur Stevenson in a bid for two world titles one year later. After a no contest against Nicolas Polanco in June 2023, Conceição fought then-WBO champion Emanuel Navarrete to a majority draw that November. In April, he stopped Jose Guardado in seven rounds. Motivated by his perseverance to win Olympic gold on his third attempt, Conceição captured world title glory on his fourth try.

Conceição said, “I’m fully focused and ready for my first title defense. Every fight is a new opportunity to prove myself, and on November 2, I’ll step into the ring with the same determination and hunger that brought me here. I respect O’Shaquie Foster, but I will show why I’m the true champion. My team and I have worked tirelessly, and I’m confident our efforts will be rewarded again. Foster, don’t run in the ring! See you in Verona!”

Foster (23-3, 12 KOs) turned pro in 2012 following a decorated amateur career with over 100 fights and an alternate spot on the U.S. Olympic team. After early-career setbacks, including a split decision to Rolando Chinea in July 2016, he mounted a successful resurgence under the guidance of trainer Bobby Benton. Foster then went on a 12-fight winning streak, capturing the WBC crown with a points triumph over Rey Vargas in February 2023 and defending it on enemy turf with a thrilling 12th-round stoppage of Rocky Hernandez last October. Foster made the second defense of his strap by decisioning Nova in February.

Foster said, “I can’t wait for November 2. I’m ready to go out there and make a statement. That bad decision woke something up in me, and now all I can think about is the ‘get back.’ I want to thank everybody who pushed for the right thing to be done. Now the focus is to become a two-time champion.”

Muratalla (21-0, 16 KOs), a 27-year-old contender on the cusp of a world title opportunity, had a flawless 2023, going 3-0 with three knockouts. In March, he rose off the deck following a first-round knockdown to stop Galindo with a body shot in the ninth. That May, he opened the Devin Haney-Vasiliy Lomachenko pay-per-view by dismantling Jeremiah Nakathila in two rounds. He capped off the year in November by dispatching Mexican power puncher Diego Torres in eight. In 2024, Muratalla tallied points verdicts in 10-rounders versus Xolisani Ndongeni in March and former world champion Tevin Farmer in July.

Muratalla said, “I’m excited to get back in the ring. I like staying active, so fighting for the third time this year will keep me sharp as I get closer to a world title. Jesus Perez is tough and experienced. He’ll bring the fight, which means it will be an exciting clash where I can show my skills.”

Perez (25-5, 18 KOs) went 21-0 with 16 knockouts before suffering his first defeat against then-unbeaten Ruslan Madiyev in May 2018. Since then, the Tijuana, Mexico, native has tested the likes of welterweight contender Alexis Rocha and eventual WBO welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr. In his last outing, he upset former world champion Joseph Diaz Jr. by split decision.

Stevenson, 134.1 lbs of Newark, NJ is 22-0. Harutyunyan, 134.8 lbs of Hamburg, GER is 12-2.

“It’s kind of hard to prove it if you don’t have a fighter who wants to fight back. He’s just trying to make sure he survives. He’s a good fighter. He’s tough. He’s strong. I would’ve wanted him to try a little harder, so that way it could be a more fun fight.”

“I have to cut off the ring a bit more. He’d go one way and then go the other way, so I gotta go back in the gym and work on cutting off the gym.”

“I think the boos were because of him. He didn’t try to make the fight.”

“We’ll see {what’s next}. Like I said, I want to fight the best fighters in boxing. That’s how you’ll see the best version of me. Put me in the ring with somebody else who wants to fight back and compete. That’s when you’ll get the best out of me.”

Harutyunyan

Of course it was fun. Boxing is not a game. You have to fight. You get hit and have to hit back. It’s normal.”

“He belongs with the top fighters in this weight category, like me also.”

In his fourth try, at a world title, Robson Conceicao won the WBC Junior Lightweight title with a debatable 12-rpund split decision over defending champion O’Shaquie Foster.

This is what the fighters had to say at Wednesday’s press conference.

Shakur Stevenson

“This place is very special. I appreciate my fans. I appreciate everybody that comes out to support in Newark. And we’re going to put on a show.”

“I really want to talk about him. I’m not falling for that. You’re trying to act real humble and butter me up and act like you’re not really coming here to win. No, you’re coming here to win, bro. I already know. He doesn’t sound as confident as I thought he would sound. Hopefully, he’s coming to fight.”

“I’m going to take him to a level he’s never been on. I’m just going to be myself. I’m going to come out and show my talent and show my levels. I think I’m one of the best in the sport of boxing at hit and don’t get hit. There’s a certain way of doing that, and I want to show the fans that all that moving around is something I don’t really have to do. I can sit in the pocket and beat you up, too.”

Artem Harutyunyan

“I was born in Armenia, and I grew up in Germany. I’ve come all the way here to fight Shakur Stevenson in his hometown. It’s a big opportunity for me. I will do my best and give a great fight.”

“I came to Las Vegas last year. I was fighting Frank Martin. It was a great fight. I know Frank Martin knows he lost the fight. I told everybody that I would be back in the States. And now it’s happened. I’m back here.”

“It’s a great opportunity. I had a great training camp, and I’m well prepared. I’m ready for this fight. I know Shakur Stevenson is a good fighter. He is a world champion. We both fought at the Olympic games. He is a silver medalist, and I’m a bronze medalist. Now we’re fighting for the world championship.”

O’Shaquie Foster

“I just need to go in there and be me. That’s the biggest thing. I’m fully healthy. So, everyone is going to see a different fighter than what they saw the last time I came out.”

“I couldn’t do what I wanted in that fight {against Abraham Nova}. I couldn’t move my feet like I wanted. But, no excuses. I’m going to go out and show the world that I’m levels above this guy.”

“I’ve had a long amateur career, so I’ve seen his style several times. We had great sparring partners that mimicked him. I’ve always been proud of my defense, so we’ll figure it out when we get in there.”

Robson Conceiç?o

“Things in my career weren’t necessarily easy. As an amateur, I had three opportunities to become a gold medalist. I see a similar path as a professional. And on Saturday, I’m going to be ready.”

“I don’t look at these challenges as pressure. I look at them as motivation. So, I’m motivated, and I’m looking forward to this fight on Saturday. I’ll be the new world champion. No pressure. Just motivation.”

Keyshawn Davis

“It’s always special sharing a card with my brother Shakur. We’ve been doing this since we were kids. We’ve been talking about this since we were amateurs. Brick City loves me. It’s my third time coming here, so I expect the fans to embrace me again as I make that ring entrance.”

“I just need to do the same thing I’ve been doing. I just need to go out there, have fun and perform. He has a style that I’ve seen so many times, especially in the amateurs. When you travel overseas, you fight a lot of guys like that. Now that we are going 10 rounds, I can take my time and dissect this kid. I’m going to go in there and have fun and do what I do.”

Miguel Madueño

“This is a good opportunity. It’s an opportunity to show what we are made of. We’ve had some setbacks. But we’re ready to get back on track. And what better than facing a name like Keyshawn.”

“I’m going to walk away with my hand raised. We’ll be looking for the knockout. He is a great fighter. We’ve been watching and analyzing him. He’s spectacular. But on July 6, we’ll walk away victorious.”

Abdullah Mason

“My opponent has as many knockouts as I have fights. So, we’re ready for whatever he brings. He’s coming to win. He’s going to let his hands go. But we’re going to do our job like always.”

“We’ve just been focused. Training in the gym prepares you to be under those lights. So, we’ve been preparing. Every time we step in the ring, we’re preparing to step under those lights.”

Top Rank Presents World Championship Doubleheader: Shakur Stevenson vs. Artem Harutyunyan O’Shaquie Foster vs. Robson Conceição Saturday, July 6 Live on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+

Top Rank Boxing on ESPN, presented by AutoZone: Shakur vs. Artem, will be broadcast live this Saturday, July 6, at 8:30 p.m. ET/ 5:30 p.m. PT on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+. The televised quadruple-header will take place at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Newark’s three-division king, Shakur Stevenson, is ready to defend his crown on native turf making the inaugural defense of his WBC lightweight world championship against Armenian-born German Olympian Artem Harutyunyan.

Stevenson (21-0, 10 KOs) was a silver medalist at the 2016 Rio Olympics and is now a three-weight world champion.  The 27-year-old won his first world title in 2019 by defeating Joet Gonzalez for the WBO featherweight strap. He won the WBO junior lightweight crown in 2021 by knocking out Jamel Herring and unified titles when he notched a one-sided decision over Oscar Valdez the following year. Last November, he bested Edwin De Los Santos by unanimous decision to win the WBC lightweight crown, he is now making his first defense of that title.

Harutyunyan (12-1, 7 KOs) earned an Olympic bronze medal for Germany in 2016 and started his pro career the following year. He jumped out to a 12-0 record while fighting exclusively in Germany, including a win over then-unbeaten Samuel Molina for a regional title. Last July, he made his U.S. debut against Frank Martin, losing a narrow decision.

In the co-feature, O’Shaquie Foster will defend his WBC junior lightweight world title against Brazilian Olympic gold medalist and three-time world title challenger Robson Conceição.

Foster (22-2, 12 KOs) had a distinguished amateur career, including an alternate spot in the 2012 U.S. Olympic team before joining the paid ranks later that year. After early setbacks, he returned under trainer Bobby Benton and went 12-0, winning the WBC world title in February 2023 with a points victory over Rey Vargas. Later that year, he defended the title with a dramatic, come-from-behind 12th-round knockout of Rocky Hernandez. He returns after securing a well-earned split decision over Abraham Nova earlier this year.

Conceição (18-2-1, 9 KOs), Brazil’s first Olympic boxing gold medalist, turned pro in 2016. His only losses have come in world championship tries, including a draw against three-weight world champion Emanuel Navarrete last November. In April, Conceição scored a seventh-round TKO over Jose Guardado.

In the 10-round lightweight special feature, Keyshawn Davis will take on Mexican puncher Miguel Madueño. Davis (10-0, 7 KOs), from Norfolk, Virginia, quickly rose from prospect to contender. After going 3-0 as a pro, he earned a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics. Since the end of that year, he has amassed seven wins. In 2023, he stopped Anthony Yigit in nine rounds and defeated Francesco Patera. Despite his victory last year over Nahir Albright being overturned due to a positive marijuana test, Davis returned in February to decisively defeat former two-weight world champion Jose Pedraza via sixth-round TKO

Madueño (31-2, 28 KOs) bounced back from a points setback to Canadian contender Steve Claggett last November by decisioning Justin Pauldo in February.

And, in the eight-round lightweight televised opener, Abdullah Mason (13-0, 11 KOs) will fight Puerto Rican veteran Luis Lebron (20-5-1, 13 KOs).

Undercard action begins at 6:10 p.m. ET/ 3:10 p.m. PT exclusively on ESPN+.

Shakur Stevenson-Artem Harutyunyan & O’Shaquie Foster-Robson Conceição World Title Doubleheader Set for July 6 at Newark’s Prudential Center LIVE on ESPN

NEWARK, N.J. (May 7, 2024) — Newark’s three-division king is ready to defend his crown on native turf.

Shakur Stevenson will make the inaugural defense of his WBC lightweight world championship against Armenian-born German Olympian Artem Harutyunyan on Saturday, July 6, at Prudential Center in his hometown of Newark, New Jersey.

In the co-feature, O’Shaquie Foster will defend his WBC junior lightweight world title against Brazilian Olympic gold medalist and three-time world title challenger Robson Conceição.

In the 10-round lightweight televised opener, Keyshawn Davis will take on Mexican veteran Miguel Madueño.

Stevenson-Harutyunyan, Foster-Conceição, and Davis-Madueño will be broadcast live on ESPN, ESPN, Deportes and ESPN+ at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

Promoted by Top Rank, in association with Universum Boxing, tickets go on sale Wednesday, May 22 at 2 p.m. ET via Ticketmaster.com.

“There is a unique connection between Shakur and the City of Newark, and we are thrilled he’s returning for another hometown appearance against a tough opponent in Artem Harutyunyan,” said Top Rank Chairman Bob Arum. “O’Shaquie Foster does not shy away from the best opposition, and I know Robson Conceição is motivated to pull off the upset. And with Keyshawn Davis on the card against a rugged contender in Madueño, this is quite the tripleheader we have in store in Brick City.”

“To once again welcome back Top Rank, ESPN, and Shakur Stevenson for the third time in two years is a great honor for Prudential Center and the entire city of Newark,” said Dylan Wanagiel, VP of Sports Properties & Special Events for Prudential Center. “We look forward to hosting an unforgettable evening filled with history-making moments in the heart of New Jersey as Shakur takes on a formidable opponent in Artem Harutyunyan for the WBC Lightweight Title.  Following consecutive record-breaking events with Shakur headlining, we are excited to showcase the sweet science in our world class venue, further solidifying Newark’s reputation for marquee events around the world.”

Stevenson (21-0, 10 KOs) has won world titles in three weight classes during his seven-year run. After securing a silver medal at the 2016 Olympics, he made his pro debut in 2017 and swiftly moved up the ranks. He captured his first world title by defeating Joet Gonzalez for the WBO featherweight strap in October 2019. Two years later, he stopped Jamel Herring in 10 rounds to earn the WBO title at 130 pounds. The 26-year-old southpaw unified world titles by handing then-WBC champion Oscar Valdez his first loss in April 2022. Stevenson then claimed two consecutive victories at Prudential Center by defeating Conceição that September and stopping Japanese contender Shuichiro Yoshino in six last April. Hee outpointed Dominican puncher Edwin De Los Santos last November to become the WBC lightweight world champion.

Stevenson said, “It feels good to be going back home to Newark, where they appreciate a young legend, and to make my first title defense at 135. On July 6, Down Goes Artem!”

Harutyunyan (12-1, 7 KOs) captured an Olympic bronze medal for Germany in 2016. He started his pro career the following year and went 12-0 in his adopted country with triumphs over Samuel Molina in September 2021 and Humberto Galindo in June 2022. Last July, he made his U.S. debut in a competitive showdown against Frank Martin. The 33-year-old had success with his aggression and right hand, though Martin rallied late to win a narrow unanimous decision. Harutyunyan will have his first world title shot against his second consecutive southpaw rival.

Harutyunyan said, “I respect Shakur Stevenson as a champion, but I’m coming to shock his hometown fans and win the WBC lightweight championship. This is the opportunity of a lifetime, and I will take full advantage of it. This will be my second fight in the U.S. I’ve learned and progressed since my loss to Frank Martin.”

Foster (22-2, 12 KOs) had a distinguished amateur career with more than 100 fights and an alternate spot in the 2012 U.S. Olympic team before entering the paid ranks later that year. He encountered two early-career setbacks, including a split decision defeat to Rolando Chinea in July 2016. He returned more than a year later with renowned trainer Bobby Benton and has since gone 12-0. Last February, he won the WBC world title with a points verdict over two-division world champion Rey Vargas before a dramatic 12th-round knockout win against Eduardo “Rocky” Hernandez in October. The following month, Foster signed a long-term promotional deal with Top Rank. He returns after securing a well-earned split decision over Abraham Nova in February.

Foster said, “I’m excited to be back for my third title defense. Conceição is a great opponent who has been in the ring with a lot of top fighters, but come July 6, we will be ready. I will keep proving that I’m one of the best fighters in the world.”

Conceição (18-2-1, 9 KOs), Brazil’s inaugural Olympic boxing gold medalist, turned pro in November 2016. His only losses have come against unbeaten world champions, including a close decision against then-WBC champ Valdez in September 2021. Following the setback to Stevenson, Conceição’s June 2022 showdown against Nicolas Polanco ended in a no contest. He followed up by challenging three-weight world champion Emanuel Navarrete last November, rising twice from the canvas and battling to a majority draw. In April, he registered a seventh-round TKO against Jose Guardado in April.

Conceição said, “I’m really looking forward to this fight against O’Shaquie Foster. This title is something I’ve been aiming for a long time, and I’m not going to let this opportunity slip away. I can guarantee that I’ll give my best; I’ll leave everything in the ring. Blood, sweat, and dedication—everything will be invested in this title bout. I’m ready to face any challenge that comes my way. Let’s go all in towards victory! Brazil!”

Davis (10-0, 7 KOs), from Norfolk, Virginia, made a quick transition from prospect to contender. After going 3-0 as a pro, he earned a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics. In November 2021, he inked a long-term promotional pact with Top Rank and has amassed seven wins since. In 2023, he stopped Anthony Yigit in nine rounds in April and vanquished Francesco Patera via 10-round decision in July. After his October win over Nahir Albright was overturned to a no contest due to a positive marijuana test, Davis returned with renewed vigor in February to dispatch former two-weight world champion Jose Pedraza in six. Madueño (31-2, 28 KOs) tallied a three-fight winning spree after a decision defeat to Jezreel Corrales in March 2022. The streak was halted by a points setback against Canadian contender Steve Claggett last November, but he bounced back quickly by decisioning Justin Pauldo in February.

Davis said, “Madueño is a tough fighter with more than 30 pro fights, and I have a lot of respect for what he brings to the table. I love fighting in Newark. The fans there are special, and I am going to feed off their energy and put on a show.”

Undercard action — streaming live and exclusively on ESPN+ — includes the return of 20-year-old lightweight prodigy Abdullah Mason and unbeaten heavyweight prospect Damian “Polish Hussar” Knyba.

Mason (13-0, 11 KOs) will make his third 2024 appearance in an eight-rounder against Puerto Rican veteran Luis Lebron. The Cleveland native went 5-0 with four knockouts last year before stopping Benjamin Gurment in two in February. He is coming off a fourth-round TKO win over Ronal Ron in April. Lebron (20-5-1, 13 KOs) has given stiff tests to Duke Ragan and Henry Lebron and stopped Giovanni Gutierrez in February.

Knyba (13-0, 7 KOs), a 6-foot-7 behemoth with an 86-inch reach, returns in an eight-rounder versus Richard Lartey (16-6, 13 KOs). He joined the Top Rank stable in January 2023 and scored a TKO win over Curtis Harper that April followed by decisions over Helaman Olguin in June and Michael Coffie in December.

“I like to take control of things in my career. It’s the main reason I picked boxing. It’s an individual sport. I can be in control.”

“I’ve got to put my trust in God. Everything in the gym has been done. You know what I bring and what I come with. The pressure will be on. The IQ will be on. Everything will be on. I will just have to adjust and come out with the victory.”

Andres Cortes

“I’m really excited to be here. First time here. Let’s get the show started.”

“You can expect another statement from me. You’ll see me taking another step towards a world title.”

“I see a world title in my future. I’m here to take care of Bryan first. But maybe one day we can make that fight happen.”

Bryan Chevalier

“The ring is the same throughout the world. It’s a square. It’ll just be me, him and the referee. We’re ready to give a great show to boxing fans.

“Styles make fights. I prepared to give the best of me. I will accommodate to what he has. He will have to accommodate to what I have. Without a doubt, it will be a war between Mexico and Puerto Rico.”

Bruce Carrington

“I love these opportunities to fight at home. Bernard Torres is a southpaw. It’s always interesting to fight against a southpaw. He’s a good fighter. 18-1. Great record. He shows a lot of will and skill. There’s nothing more you can ask for in a opponent.”

“He’s a good fighter. But with my experience, confidence, and work ethic, I know that I’ve got a Plan A through Z and even more to take care of Bernard Torres.”

Bernard Torres

“Growing up in boxing, it’s a dream to fight here. So, I’m happy to box here at Madison Square Garden. I am really happy for this opportunity. I’m very prepared. I had a really great camp. I’m really happy and ready to go.”

Top Rank Presents World Junior Lightweight Championship: O’Shaquie Foster vs. Abraham Nova

Top Rank Boxing on ESPN presented by AutoZone: Foster vs. Nova will be presented live this Friday, February 16, at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT, on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+ from The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

In the main event, WBC junior lightweight world champion, O’Shaquie “Ice Water” Foster will make his second world title defense against Abraham “El Super” Nova.

Foster (21-2, 10 KOs) is unbeaten in 11 fights since a split decision loss to Rolando Chinea in July 2016. He won the WBC world title in February 2023 with a one-sided decision over Mexican standout Rey Vargas. Eight months later, he salvaged his title with a come-from-behind 12th-round knockout over Eduardo “Rocky” Hernandez.

Nova (23-1, 16 KOs) had nearly 200 fights during a storied amateur career that included victories over Frank Martin, Richardson Hitchins, and Nahir Albright. In June 2022, he suffered his lone career setback, a one-punch knockout at the hands of two-time Cuban Olympic gold medalist and eventual world champion Robeisy Ramirez. Following the Ramirez defeat, Nova returned to junior lightweight and picked up wins over veteran Adam Lopez and former world champion Jonathan Romero.

In the 10-round junior lightweight co-feature, Andres “Savage” Cortes takes on Puerto Rican contender Bryan Chevalier. Undefeated Cortes (20-0, 11 KOs) emerged in August 2021 with a first round knockout of former world title challenger Genesis Servania and has recorded four knockouts in his last six appearances. Chevalier (20-1-1, 16 KOs), a 10-year-pro, is unbeaten in his last 12 fights.

In the 10-round televised opener, rising featherweight Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington, will face Filipino-born standout Bernard TorresCarrington (10-0, 6 KOs), 2020 U.S. Olympic trials champion, has been rapidly ascending the ranks since turning pro in October 2021. In his last performance, Carrington stunned former world title challenger Jason Sanchez by knocking him out in two rounds. Torres (18-1, 8 KOs), a Filipino-born southpaw, debuted in the paid ranks in October 2017. Torres is coming off a 10-round points verdict over Tanzanian veteran Nasibu Ramadhani in June.

Calling the action will be ESPN’s Joe Tessitore, Hall of Famer Timothy Bradley, Jr., Mark Kriegel, and Bernardo Osuna.
