James Perkins crowned the new WBC U.S. Silver Light Heavyweight title

REVERE, Mass. (August 17, 2025) – Lynn (MA) gravedigger James “Pitbull” Perkins (14-3-1, 9 KOs) captured the World Boxing Council U.S. Silver light heavyweight title in this past Saturday night’s main event on the entertaining “Oceanside Prize Fights” card, presented by Granite Chin Promotions (GCP), at Oceanside Events Center in Revere, Massachusetts.

All the action was streamed live on www.BXNGTV.com.

Perkins won an 8-round decision with scores of 78-74, 76-75, and 76-76. Both fighters, being counter punchers, exchanged feints and slips, resulting in many punches just missing the mark. After five competitive rounds, though, Perkins gained the upper hand by landing strong combinations.

“He (Andreozzi) is a tough guy who came to fight,” Perkins said after the fight. “We knew he turned around (orthodox to southpaw), but he fought more than usual as a lefty. I waited a little too long to pull the trigger. It was awesome fighting only 15 minutes from home and the atmosphere in the crowd was great. I knew I had him in the sixth round when I started putting punches together. It was my best fight, but I won and I’m very happy to have this belt.”

In the co-feature, Mansfield (MA) welterweight James “The Slim Reaper” Perella continued his undefeated streak, improving to 20-0 with 14 knockouts, after Perella knocked out Mexican veteran Saul “Navajo” Corral (31-25, 20 KOs) in the second round.

A 3-time New England Golden Gloves Champion, Perella wisely used his physical superiority – height, length and strength – to punish Corral with a relentless body attack that led to three knockdowns, including the knockout, which left Corral on the mat in pain.

All the hype for Everett (MA) welterweight prospect “Showtime” Shea Willcox (4-0, 3 KOs) is justified! In his first scheduled 6-rounder, against a 51-fight Aldimar Silva who has been in the ring with world champions Jorge Arce and Evgeny Gradovich, the 23-year-old Willcox impressed, winning a 6-round unanimous decision by identical scores of 60-52 on all three judges’ scorecards.

In the opening two rounds, Willcox was explosive, dropping Silva in the opening round with a right, followed by a perfectly thrown left hook in the second that landed flush, sending Silva back on the canvas.

Fighting only 10 minutes from his home, Willcox showed poise beyond his years, especially during the third through sixth rounds, as well as efficient combination punching, up and down Silva’s head and body, in addition to demonstrating he is fundamentally sound.

“I felt good in there,” Willcox said after the fight. “I glad I got the rounds in to prove I’m also a boxer. I was explosive in the first two rounds, but I moved around and boxed the rest of the fight. I dreamed as a kid to fight locals like this with my people, family and friends supporting me. I’ve been busy since I came back (from an injury) and hope to fight again at least once before the end of the year.”

Junior featherweight Jennifer Perella (3-1, 1 KO), a 2014 National Golden Gloves silver medalist, pitched a shutout, winning all four rounds on the three judges’ scorecards for a 4-round unanimous decision over Sarah “Switch Kick” Click (2-11-1, 0 KOs). Perella, no relation to James Perella, won a 4-round decision this past April versus Click.

Fighting for the first time since his pro debut 29 years ago, cruiserweight Charlie

“The City Point Sicilian” LoGrasso (2-0, 2 KOs) turned in a Hollywood ending as the South Boston fighter stopped Erick Alves with a vicious right hook to the body to close the show in grand style

Undefeated welterweight Eric Goff (8-0, 6 KOs) cruised to victory with a knockout of Joe Wilson, Jr. (3-9) in the fourth round.

In the opening bout of the evening, Philadelphia lightweight Christian Ortiz (5-0, 4 KOs) completely dominated a game Manuel Rojas Esquivel (2-7-2, 1 KO) enroute to a 4-round unanimous decision. Ortiz, who went the distance for the first time as a professional, floored Esquivel in round two with a right uppercut.

Perkins vs. Andreozzi is a terrific match-up of entertaining fighters. The 32-year-old Perkins, A gravedigger from nearby Lynn (MA), is a powerfully aggressive puncher who doesn’t mind taking a few punches to land one damaging shot, while former Massachusetts Middleweight ChampionAndreozzi, of Swansea (MA), is a grinder who enjoys exchanging punches from start to finish.

Two of the most popular and promising prospects in New England, Everett (MA) junior welterweight “Showtime” Shea Willcox (3-0, 3 KOs) and Mansfield (MA) junior middleweight James “The Slim Reaper” Perella (19-0, 13 KOs), will provide chief support.

The 23-year-old Willcox, a member of two Everett High’s Super Bowl, Division One football championship teams, is arguably the most popular pro boxer in the Northeast. A standout amateur boxer, he was also selected as the “Most Outstanding Boxer” at last year’s New England Golden Gloves Championships, in addition to being a 2018 Rocky Marciano Tournament Champion. He will throw down in a 4-round co-featured event against Aldimar Silva (22-28, 14 KOs), of Brazil.

James Perkins & Anthony Andreozzi Headlines “Oceanside Prize Fights”

QUINCY, Mass. (July 8, 2025) – Old-school boxing returns on August 16th as James “Pitbull” Perkins (13-3-1, 9 KOs) and Anthony “The Gentle Savage” Andreozzi (7-4, 3 KOs) square off in the 8-round main event on a stacked “Oceanside Prize Fights” card, presented by Granite Chin Promotions (GCP), for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) USA Silver Light Heavyweight Championship.

All the action will be streamed on www.BXNGTV.com live from the Oceanside Events Center (formerly the Wonderland Ballroom) in Revere, Massachusetts.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Quincy Firefighters Cancer Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide unwavering support to firefighters and their families as they face the challenges of occupational cancer, ensuring they receive the care, resources, and assistance they need. Go to www.quincyfirecancerfoundation.com for information.

“It’s been long overdue that Granite Chin did an event on the North Shore,” promoter Chris Traietti said. “Oceanside Events Center is a beautiful venue, and they have been a pleasure to work with. This event will be an incredible night of fights with a new WBC Silver U.S. Champion crowned. On top of that, we will be raising money for the Quincy Firefighters Cancer Foundation, which as a member of the Quincy Fire Department, hits home for me. The foundation does amazing work and provides critical support for our fellow firefighters at a time of need.”

Perkins and Andreozzi are throwback fighters who could fight in a proverbial phone booth, providing non-stop action in an entertaining, competitive encounter for a regional title.

A gravedigger from nearby Lynn (MA), the 32-year-old Perkins was a solid hockey player at St. Mary’s High School in Lynn, who also had another intensive labor job working on a lobster boat. He is a strong, aggressive puncher who has successfully transitioned from the super middleweight division to light heavyweight.

Andreozzi, of Swansea (MA), who is a former Massachusetts Middleweight Champion, has overcome a serious injury to become a title challenger. He broke his lower leg that resulted in 2 major surgeries that kept him sidelined for a full year. Andreozzi is back, hungry and ready for Perkins.

“Sometimes, as a promoter, you must get creative selling a fight, but this isn’t one of those,” Traietti added. “This fight sells itself. James and Tony are two guys who refuse to take a step backwards, for better or worse, coming forward and bringing non-stop pressure. Getting both guys to agree to fight was one of the easiest things I have done all year. They were chomping at the bit. This fight is a can’t miss regional main event.”

Two of the most popular and promising prospects in New England, Marshfield (MA) welterweight James “The Slim Reaper” Perella (19-0, 13 KOs) and Everett (MA) junior welterweight “Showtime” Shea Willcox (3-0, 3 KOs), will provide chief support.

Perella, 32, had a celebrated amateur career (120-20), capturing 3 New England Golden Gloves titles, in addition to a silver medal at the prestigious National PAL Tournament. He will face former FECARBOX Welterweight Champion Saul “Navajo” Corral (31-24, 20 KOs) in an 8-round fight.

Willcox, 23, was a member of two Everett High’s Super Bowl, Division One football championship teams. He was also selected as the “Most Outstanding Boxer” at last year’s New England Golden Gloves Championships, as well as a 2018 Rocky Marciano Tournament Champion. He will be in a 4-round match vs. Aldimar Silva (22-28, 14 KOs), of Brazil.

Traietti concluded, “On top of a great main event, SHEA WILLCOX IS COMING HOME! Getting Shea a fight in his home area was paramount this year. We plan to make it a recurring theme. He is a terrific talent with a loyal fan base that traveled twice to Bridgewater to support him. Now he is coming to the North Shore where he belongs, and the sky’s the limit.”

Additional matchups will soon be announced.

Card subject to change.

Tickets are reasonably priced (includes service fees) at $154.00 (Reserved Ringside), $103.00 (General Seats), and $62.20 (General Admission) are available for purchase at www.Granite-Chin-Promotions.ticketleap.com.

“Showtime” Shea Willcox & Rich Allen turned in KO Performances

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (June 22, 2025) – The two newest members of Granite Chin Promotions’ (GCP) stable, undefeated Everett (MA) junior welterweight prospect “Showtime” Shea Willcox (3-0, 3 KOs) and Kingston (MA) middleweight Rich Allen (2-0, 2 KOs), turned in knockout performances for a sold out crowd last Friday night on “Fight Night at the Vet Club IV”, presented by Granite Chin Promotions (GCP), at the Bridgewater Veterans Club in Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

Granite Chin Promotions partnered once again with the Bridgewater-based “Fire For Effect Foundation,” whose mission is to honor and empower veterans, first responders and their families by providing essential resources, support and community-building initiatives that foster resilience, restore hope, and strengthen the fabric of our community. Go to www.ffefinc.org for more information.

“What we have at the Bridgewater Vets Club is special,” GDP promoter Chris Traietti said after the event. “We’ve really made the Bridgewater Vets Club our home. Shea and Rich both stepped up and are progressing nicely. We’ll be back on August 16th at Oceanside Events Center (the old Wonderland Ballroom) in Revere (MA).”

Willcox, 23, has successfully parlayed his rich amateur pedigree as a 2024 New England Golden Gloves champion, in which he was also named the “Most Outstanding Boxer, in addition to capturing top honors at the 2018 Rocky Marciano Tournament Champion, into the pro ranks. His fan base continues to travel well to support him, which has rapidly made him arguably the most popular boxer in New England, based on ticket sales.

At the site of his pro debut a year ago last September at the Bridgewater Vets Club, Willcox met a very tough opponent in the main event, Kadhim Alkhazaali. He did get Shea’s attention with a solid shot to the face in the opening round. He came out for the second round with a vengeance. A wicked body shot sent an obviously hurt Alkhazaali to the canvas late in round two and he was unable to continue fighting.

“The kid was tough, fighting as he came forward,” Willcox remarked. “We knew he was a step up as an opponent, but we were ready. He kind of woke me up with that punch in the opening round. We always put in the work and trained to be sharp and ready for anything in the fight.”

Willcox will be on Granite Chin’s Aug. 10th show in Revere, which borders Shea’s hometown of Everett.

Local favorite Rich Allen (R) entertained his fans again

The popular Allen, a police resources officer at Silver Lake High School, returned to the same venue where he made his pro debut last September. The southpaw battered Igor Santos to improve to 2-0, knocking down his opponent four times, three in the second and final round. Allen used every punch in his arsenal – straight left, uppercut, left hook, right jab and more – to completely dominate Santos.

In a walkout fight, Charlton (MA) cruiserweight Andreas Enetzelis (1-0, 1 KO) had a memorable pro debut, landing a perfectly placed straight right to the chin that knocked out Bruno Saraiva midway through round one.

Irish middleweight Bernie McDonagh, now fighting out of Boston, moved to 2-0 with a dazzling performance against an overmatched Jay Gregory. The 17-year-old McDonagh came out the corner for the opening bell throwing bombs. The former Irish National Champion from Cork, Ireland, trapped his opponent in the corner, throwing 12 straight unanswered punches to close the show midway through the first round.

Former Massachusetts Middleweight Champion Anthony “The Gentle Savage” Andreozzi, now fighting as a cruiserweight, stopped Juan Celin Zapata in the second round, registering two knockdowns in the process.

In a junior middleweight match between Massachusetts fighters, Justin “The Bandit” Laporte, fighting out of Millbury, dropped Boston’s David Rodrigues in the opening round with a left hook and soon finished him off with a solid uppercut at the 2:18 mark. A U.S. Marine and 2-time New England Golden Gloves Champion, Laporte, who improved to 3-0, is unquestionably a prospect to watch closely on his pro boxing journey.

Rhode Island junior middleweight Alfred “Keenan” Raymond decked veteran Daniel Sostre in the opening round enroute to a 4-round unanimous decision to open the show.

Bridgewater TV taped the event live to air this coming week

Shea Willcox & Rich Allen to be Showcased in separate fights on “Fight Night at the Vets Club IV”

?QUINCY, Mass. (May 7, 2025) – The two newest members of Granite Chin Promotions’ (GCP) stable, undefeated Everett (MA) lightweight “Showtime” Shea Willcox (2-0, 2 KOs) and Kingston (MA) middleweight Rich Allen (1-0, 1 KO), will be showcased on “Fight Night at the Vet Club IV” in a pair of four-round bouts on Friday night, June 20, at the Bridgewater Veterans Club in Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

Once again, Granite Chin Promotions is partnering with the Bridgewater-based “Fire For Effect Foundation,” whose mission is to honor and empower veterans, first responders and their families by providing essential resources, support and community-building initiatives that foster resilience, restore hope, and strengthen the fabric of our community. Go to www.ffefinc.org for more information.

“We are starting to build something special in Bridgewater,” GCP promoter Chris Traietti said. “It has been such a pleasure working with the Fire For Effect Foundation and helping them with their mission to support local veterans and first responders. Our last two shows sold out there and I have a great feeling this one is going to continue that streak. Both Shea and Rich have great fan bases, and I am thrilled to showcase Granite Chin’s two newest signings on the same card.”

“Showtime Shea Willcox

Willcox, 23, was a member of two Everett High’s Super Bowl, Division One, football championship teams. He was also selected as the “Most Outstanding Boxer” at last year’s New England Golden Gloves Championships, as well as a 2018 Rocky Marciano Tournament Champion.

Willcox signed with Granite Chin prior to his pro debut last September at the Bridgewater Vets Club, in which he knocked out Travis Cain in the first round. On April 19th at Brookline High School, Willcox scored a first-round technical knockout of Igor Santos.

“Last time I fought in Bridgewater,” Willcox explained, “I had a good turnout and I’m hoping for the same this fight in this nice little venue. This time I’m training even harder, more like a professional, and I’m more confident. I want to stay as busy as possible.”

In less than a full year, Willcox is arguably the leading draw in New England boxing, packing the house with his enthusiastic fans.

“I have a huge family on both sides but it’s not just them. I have so many friends at my fights,” Willcox added. “It was like that in Lowell when I fought in the New England Golden Gloves. Tons of people! Some fighters may feel added pressure, but I love it and take it all in. I do block it out – all the people cheering — as I walk to the ring. It’s a great feeling.”

Rich Allen

The 34-year-old Allen also made his long-awaited pro debut at the same venue on February 15th, in which he knocked out Tymar Miles in the opening round. Allen is a school resources police officer at Silver Lake High School. He started boxing at 16 but put down his gloves for a few years to attend the University of Massachusetts at Boston. He then resumed boxing in the amateurs. College and work never kept Allen out of the gym even if he wasn’t competing.

“Any experience helps,” Allen spoke about his second pro as opposed to his debut. “I did have amateur experience going into my pro debut. For this fight I modified a few things to get ready if needed to go the full four rounds. Every time I’m in the ring it reminds me why I love boxing so much. I’m training hard and it’s such a good feeling to hear the crowd supporting me. It’s cool!

“I’m taking things fight to fight. I’m having fun. I’m still training as hard as I can, and I’ll keep boxing as long as my body permits, and it makes sense to my family. I won’t continue fighting if I’m not 100-percent because this is such a dangerous sport.

“I recently signed with Granite Chin and that really helps me. Chris Traietti is a local promoter who everybody knows is always square with his fighters.”

Card subject to change.

Tickets are priced at $80.00 (VIP stage seating), $65.00 (floor seats), $45.00 (standing room only), and $420.00 for ringside tables of 4 are available for purchase at www.Granite-Chin-Promotions.ticketleap.com.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. ET, first bout at 7 p.m. ET.

Bridgewater TV is taping the event live to air the week after the fight.

“Showtime” Shea Willcox Dazzling in pro debut

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (September 14, 2024) – Everett (MA) junior welterweight “Showtime” Shea Willcox had a dazzling pro debut in last night’s “Fight Night at the Vets Club 2” card, presented by Granite Chin Promotions (GCP), at the Bridgewater Veterans Club in Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

Fighting in front of a packed venue, in which the large majority of attendees were there supporting him, the 22-year-old Willcox did not disappoint as he floored Travis Crain three times, the last leading referee Jack Morrell to wave off the fight at the 43-second mark of the opening round.

Willcox, who was this year’s New England Golden Gloves Champion, as well as the Most Outstanding Boxer of the championship final, displayed poise beyond his age would indicate, calming setting up his vaunted left hook. Willcox used his left hook for the first two knockdowns, a minute into the fight and again 30-seconds later, and he closed the show with a crisp right cross for the technical knockout.

“I had a lot of fans at the New England Golden Gloves, and they really turned out for my pro debut,” Shea said after the fight. They’re always there for me and I’m grateful for their support. I love it!

“We had a game plan, and I knew what to do. I figured that he’s a southpaw and he’d be right there for my left hook. We trained nine weeks for it. My left hook, whether to the head or body, is my best punch. I saw him back up when I hit him early and knew that I had him. I’ll go right back into the gym to work on being a little more relaxed and balanced.”

Friday the 13th certainly wasn’t unlucky for the popular Willcox.

Shea Willcox had his arm raised in victory by referee Jack Morrell

“I knew Shea had a big fanbase, but WOW, what a turnout,” GCP promoter Chris Traietti commented. “It was a great night of local boxing. Shea certainly didn’t disappoint with an impressive first-round stoppage. He was poised and really handled the moment well. The supporting bouts were also incredible. We had two draws and a razor-thin opening bout that ended in a unanimous decision. Nobody left the Vets Club disappointed and that is always the goal, to give the fans their money’s worth. Thank you to everyone that came out, our sponsors, the Granite Chin Staff, and most importantly…the fighters for making this night our best show at the Vets Club to date!”

The other three bouts on the card were all action-packed, entertaining and competitive. Two ended in draws.

Rhode Island middleweight Alfred “Keenan” Raymond (2-10-3, 0 KOs) and Daniel “The Hudson Valley Kid” Sostre (13-26-2 (5 KOs) fought to an entertaining four-round draw that could have been fought in the proverbial phone booth. Keenan won all four rounds on one of the judges’ scorecards, while Sostre took two of three and one from one of the other judges, and 36-36 on the third for a draw. Sostre nearly snapped his 17-fight losing streak.

Lightweight Brandon Sandoval, fighting out of Salem (MA) by way of Mexico, was the aggressor from the opening bout of the evening’s first fight en route to a four-round win by unanimous decision.

A portion of the proceeds went to the Fire For Effect Foundation (www.ffefinc.org), which honors and empowers veterans, first responders and their families in the community.

“Fight Nights At The Vets Club 2” was taped live and will be posted this week on the Bridgewater (BTV) YouTube page.

QUINCY, Mass. (September 3, 2024) – Granite Chin Promotions (GCP) returns September 13th with the “Fight Night at the Vets Club 2” card, featuring the pro debut of 2024 New England Golden Gloves Champion “Showtime” Shea Willcox, at the Bridgewater Veterans Club in Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the Fire For Effect Foundation (www.ffefinc.org). Its mission is to honor and empower veterans, first responders, and their families by providing essential resources, support, and community-building initiatives that foster resilience, restore hope, and strengthen the fabric of the local community.

He has a great team around him and the sky’s the limit. This is going to be a great night with a bunch of action-packed fights. The card is chalk full of real ‘tough guys’ from this area who don’t shy away from real fights.”

In a rematch of an exciting fight at the same venue on June 6, 2023, Massachusetts Middleweight Champion Julien “Black Dragon” Baptiste (7-4, 3 KOs), of Woburn (MA), meets Maine’s Ryan Clark (4-6, 2 KOs), in an eight-rounder. Granite Chin Promotions signs 2024 N.E. Golden Glove Champion “Showtime” Shea Willcox

QUINCY, MA (July 23, 2024) – Granite Chin Promotions (GCP) has announced the signing of Everett (MA) junior welterweight “Showtime” Shea Willcox, a 2024 New England Golden Gloves Champion, to an exclusive promotional contract. The 22-year-old Willcox, who was a member of two Everett High’s Super Bowl, Division One, football championship teams, was also selected as the “Most Outstanding Boxer” at this past February’s New England Golden Gloves Championships. He also was a 2018 Rocky Marciano Tournament Champion.

“I’ve got the experience and me and my team (his father/manager/assistant trainer Dennis Willcox and head trainer Joe Ricciardi) believe I’m ready to go pro,” Shea explained. “It’s time! I felt ready last year, but we wanted to fight in the Golden Gloves again. We met with (promoter) Chris (Traietti) and signed with him. I’ve heard nothing but good things about him. He fought and knows the game. And he’s a good guy.

“The pros are a little different from the amateurs – weight cutting and pace of fights – but in my favor. You can pick your shots, unlike the amateurs, and take your time setting up punches. There are only three rounds in the amateurs. “It’s always been my dream to turn pro and I’m looking forward to it.”

“Signing the best local talent is something Granite Chin has always strived to do and that is exactly what we are doing here by signing Shea,” promoter Chris Traietti said. “He has real national level experience that will help in his development in the pro game. He has a great team around him, which will make working with him exciting.”

Willcox trains at the City of Everett-owned Broadway Boxing “free” gym, located on the second floor of old Everett High School, which is operated by Ricciardi and Dennis Willcox. Two fighters who train at Broadway Boxing, James “Pitbull” Perkins and Kenny “Lionheart” Larson, are Shea’s new GCP stablemates. 2024 National Golden Gloves Super Heavyweight Champion, Congo-native Gilbert Kabamba and Junior Nationals qualifier Malik Johnson are also Broadway Boxing products.

“Shea beat the best 147-pounders, he’s strong and has been boxing for nine years,” Dennis noted. “The time is now for him to turn pro. We’ve done business with Chris with Kenny and Perk. Chris is a straight-up boxing promoter. We took the deal he offered and now it’s up to us. Shea will train hard, and we can sell tickets. We have a big family and lots of friends. They went to the Golden Gloves five weeks in a row. We like Chris. He fought and knows what it takes. Shea has had a pro style since he was young. He has plenty of time to improve in and out of the ring.”

“I’m a boxer-puncher,” Shea described his style. “I can be slick but sit down and punch, too. I can buckle down. I loved watching Micky Ward fight and I have a good left-hook to the liver. I want to go as far as I can in boxing, hoping for big fights. I’m going to stay in the gym and remain consistent.”

The future is now for “Showtime” Shea Willcox.
