December 6, 2022, New York, NY  – –  The Bronx’s undefeated Andy Dominguez will be the main event fighter for the first time in his young career in a fight card tabbed “Holiday Fight Night.” The event takes place Wednesday, December 21, just four days before Christmas, the best time of the year, at Sony Hall, in Times Square, New York City. 

Featured on the card will be former WBA Intercontinental Super Middleweight Champion Anthony Sims Jr., undefeated Steven “The Hitman” Ortiz, former world champion challenger Sulem Urbina and Elon de Jesus.

This will be BoxingInsider Promotions second fight card. Their first, on October 13, also at Sony Hall, had a raucous standing-room-only crowd.

Andy Dominguez (8-0, 6 KOs) from The Bronx and born in Mexico, knocked out his last opponent in the first round in front of a boisterous standing room only crowd gone wild that included many of his family and friends. It was Andy’s fourth knockout win in a row. Andy turned pro in August 2020, in a bubble event during the pandemic peak. Dominguez will fight fellow flyweight Gilberto Mendoza (19-13-3, 10 KOs) from Modesto, California in a bout scheduled for eight-rounds.

Anthony “The Magician” Sims Jr. (22-1, 20 KOs) born in Indianapolis now residing in Los Angeles made his pro debut on April 9, 2014, following a stellar career. He rolled through his first twenty bouts which earned him a January 30, 2020, WBO Latino supermiddleweight title fight, which he lost by split decision.  He would rebound in his next fight, winning the WBA Intercontinental Super Middleweight title on August 13, 2021 with a ninth round stoppage. On December 21, Sims Jr will fight Anthony Todd (14-6, 8 KOs) from Atlanta, GA in an eight-round middleweight bout.

Steven “Hit Man” Ortiz (12-0, 3 KOs) born and raised in Philadelphia, made it to the Gold Gloves national semi-finals in 2014 before turning pro in February 2015. Through his first six professional fight he had lost a total of one round on only one judge’s scorecard. On February 23, 2019, Ortiz won the Pennsylvania State Lightweight title, knocking down Jeremy Cuevas twice en-route to a unanimous decision victory.  On December 21, Ortiz will battle Andrew Rogers (7-10, 2 KOs) from Elkhart, Indiana in an eight-round lightweight bout.

Sulem Urbina (13-2-1, 2 KOs), born in Mexico now living in Phoenix, Arizona began her boxing life fighting at the Oxnard PAL as an amateur. She began her pro career in 2016 and won her first twelve bouts (with one no contest mixed in). Her first loss, on October 30, 2020, came against who is now Unified World Champion and Ring Belt Champion Marlen Esparza, against whom she lost a unanimous decision. On July 9, 2021 Sulem fought WBA Flyweight Champion Naoko Fujioka and lost a majority decision. On December 21, Sulem battles Indeya Smith (5-6, 1 KO) from Dallas TX in an eight-round super flyweight bout.

Elon “El Leon” de Jesus (4-1, 3 KOs) from Dunkirk, NY, made his professional debut on December 18, 2020.  Elon will fight in a six-round bantamweight bout.

LAS VEGAS (Nov. 4, 2021) — There will be plenty of fistic reinforcements Saturday, Nov. 20 at Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Two high-stakes middleweight showdowns and a 50-50 fight featuring undefeated lightweights will comprise the televised PPV undercard of the welterweight super fight between undefeated WBO world champion Terence “Bud” Crawford and former two-time welterweight world champion “Showtime” Shawn Porter.

The co-feature, a 12-round IBF middleweight world title eliminator, will see Brazilian 2012 Olympic silver medalist Esquiva “La Pantera” Falcao fight fellow unbeaten Patrice Volny.

The PPV telecast also includes a 10-round middleweight tilt between rising star Janibek “Qazaq Style” Alimkhanuly and former world champion Hassan N’Dam, and an eight-round lightweight duel between unbeaten prospects Raymond “Danger” Muratalla and Steven “The Hitman” Ortiz.

Before the PPV telecast, a special feature will set the stage. Former junior featherweight world champion Isaac “Royal Storm” Dogboe will face two-time title challenger Christopher “Pitufo” Diaz in a 10-round featherweight bout. Falcao (28-0, 20 KOs) is a seven-year pro who signed with Top Rank following the 2012 Olympics. The 31-year-old southpaw has steadily climbed the world rankings and has knocked out five straight foes dating back to 2019. In his last outing, he stopped former world title challenger Artur Akavov in four rounds. Volny (16-0, 10 KOs), from Montreal, Canada, has fought all his pro fights in his home country and is coming off a March knockout over noted tough man Janks Trotter. The winner of Falcao-Volny will be in line to fight for the title currently held by Gennadiy Golovkin.

“I have waited for an opportunity like this for a long time, and I will grab it with both hands,” Falcao said. “I have an Olympic medal, and now it’s time to add a professional world title to my trophy case.”

Volny said, “I had several major opportunities fall through, but I am ecstatic that the fight with Falcao is happening. It won’t be an easy fight, but I have been training for a long time, and I will do whatever it takes to earn my shot at the title.”

Alimkhanuly (10-0, 6 KOs) is ranked the No. 2 middleweight by the WBO and coming off his signature win, an eighth-round stoppage over former world champion Rob Brant. From Zhilandy, Kazakhstan, the 2016 Olympian has knocked out four straight opponents dating back to April 2019. N’Dam (38-5, 21 KOs), a 17-year pro from Cameroon, held the WBA middleweight world title in 2017 and challenged for world titles on three other occasions. After a pair of defeats at super middleweight, N’Dam returns to the middleweight ranks, where he most recently defeated the formidable Martin Murray via majority decision.

Muratalla (12-0, 10 KOs), from Fontana, California, has risen to prominence fighting out of the famed Robert Garcia Boxing Academy in Riverside, California. He last fought on the Josh Taylor-Jose Ramirez card in May, knocking out Jose Gallegos in five rounds. Ortiz (12-0, 3 KOs), from Philadelphia, has made a habit of knocking off undefeated prospects. In his last six fights, he has defeated four undefeated fighters, including a unanimous decision over the 14-0 Jeremy Hill in March.

Dogboe (22-2, 15 KOs) has revitalized his career since back-to-back title fight losses to Emanuel “Vaquero” Navarrete. After a comeback knockout over Chris Avalos, he bested Adam Lopez by majority decision in June. Diaz (26-3, 16 KOs) is a two-time world challenger coming off a 12th-round TKO loss in a bid for Navarrete’s WBO featherweight world title. The Puerto Rican veteran had won two bouts as a featherweight entering the Navarrete fight and hopes a win over Dogboe leads to a third crack at world title glory.

PHILADELPHIA (June 17, 2021)-A highly anticipated lightweight showdown between “Philly Favorites” Steven Ortiz and Damon Allen Jr. headlines a gigantic night of boxing on Saturday, July 24th at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.

The fight card, dubbed “Crossroads” will feature the much talked about fight, which has been scheduled twice, but postponed by the Pandemic and then an injury.

The fight will headline the second night of back-to-back massive shows at the 2300 Arena promoted by RDR Promotions. The Friday, July 23rd show was announced yesterday

The Ortiz-Allen showdown is promoted in association with DiBella Entertainment.

The bout is the most anticipated “Philly vs. Philly” main event matchup since Derek Ennis took a 12-round majority decision over Gabriel Rosado on July, 30 2010 at the same venue.

Ortiz is 12-0 with three knockouts. The 27 year-old is a six-year professional, who has wins over Tyrome Jones (4-0), Joshua Davis (11-2), Wesley Ferrer (12-0-1), Jeremy Cuevas (11-0), Alejandro Salinas (10-2) and his last out when he took an eight-round unanimous decision over Jeremy Hill (14-0) on March 10th in Uncasville, Connectcut.

Allen is 16-1-1 with five knockouts. the 28 year-old Allen is an eight-year professional who has victories over former world champion Gamaliel Diaz, Jayro Duran (10-2), former world title challenger Martin Honorio and his last outing, when Allen took a six-round unanimous decision over Diemerci Nzau on October 25, 2019.

Taking part in the eight round co-feature will be undefeated welterweight Mark Dawson Jr..

Dawson of Philadelphia is 8-0-1 with three knockouts. The 24 year-old former amateur standout is coming off a win over Rodrigo Solis on May 8th at the 2300 Arena. Dawson’s opponent will be announced shortly.

In a six-round bout, Rasheen Brown (9-0, 6 KOs) of Philadelphia takes on Roberto Pucheta (10-18-2) of Jalisco, Mexico in a super bantamweight contest.

Brandun Lee continued to be impressive in his early career as he stopped Samuel Teah in round three of a scheduled 10-round junior welterweight bout at The Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

In round three, Lee dropped Teah with a hard right. Later in the round, Lee landed a booming right to the face that sent Teah plummeting on his back, and the fight was immediately stopped at 1:43.

Lee, 139 3/4 lbs of La Quinta, CA is 22-0 with 20 knockouts. Teah, 139 lbs of Philadelphia via Liberia is 17-4-1.

“Honestly, I don’t think I learned a whole lot tonight. I knew he couldn’t outbox me. I knew he couldn’t outpunch me. I knew the knockout was going to come and that one was definitely one of my top one or two favorites so far in my career.

“This is probably my biggest accomplishment yet. It was a step up in competition and even the betting odds were way closer than usual. Most of the time, I’m a -5,000 favorite or something like that and this time it was only -1,000. I was getting a lot of DM’s on Instagram and Twitter of people telling me that Sam is going to be tough. Sam is going to beat you. But hopefully, the doctors check him out and everything is all good.

“We just got the IBO intercontinental belt so I would like to get my hands on the IBO world title next. But at the end of the day, it’s all up to my manager Cameron Dunkin.”

White stops Lopez in 6

Jordan White stopped Misael Lopez in round six of a scheduled eight-round junior lightweight bout.

In round six, White scored a knockdown with a hard right. Moments later, White landed a flush combination that sent Lopez down again, and the fight was stopped at 2:40.

White, 130 lbs of Waldorf, MD is 11-1 with nine knockouts. Lopez, 129 3/4 lbs of Denver CO is 10-1.

Steven Ortiz won an eight-round unanimous decision over Jeremy Hill in a battle of undefeated lightweights.

Ortiz, 134 3/4 lbs of Philadelphia won by scores of 79-73 and 77-75 twice and is now 12-0. Hill, 134 3/4 lbs of New Orleans, LA is now 14-1.

Padilla Stops Velasquez in 5

Victor Padilla stopped Thomas Velasquez in round five of a scheduled eight-round bout of undefeated lightweights.

In round one, Velasquez landed a perfect counter right that sent Padilla down to the canvas.

In round five, Padilla rocked Velasquez with a right hook and and hurt Velasquez repeatedly until he fell on the canvas. With Velasquez hurt, Padilla rocked Velasquez several more times until the bout was stopped at 1:56.

Padilla, 134 lbs of Williamstown, NJ is 9-0 with eight knockouts. Velasquez, 135 lbs of Philadelphia is 10-1-1.

I was trying to throw with a lot of power so that’s why I was missing so much. He wasn’t catching me but he was making me miss. By the start of the fourth round, I started to relax and I realized that when I started putting pressure on him he didn’t know what to do. I just needed to calm down and let the knockout come naturally.

“Next fight, you’re going to see a better me. That’s the plan. I’m growing. I’m just 22 years old. I’m growing in the sport and I’m growing as a man. I’m a lot wiser now. PHILADELPHIA, PA — It should be another all-Philly classic when lightweights Stevie Ortiz and Damon Allen collide over 10 rounds for Ortiz’ Pennsylvania state lightweight championship on Friday evening, March 27, at the 2300 Arena.

The Ortiz-Allen showdown will headline a seven-bout card dubbed Philly Special by Raging Babe, aka Michelle Rosado. First fight will start at 7:30 p.m.

“The recipe for success in Philly always has been Philly vs. Philly,” said Rosado. “It’s what made Philly a great fight town. The hard part today is getting Philly fighters to fight each other so I’m thankful that Steve Ortiz and Damon Allen bought in.

“This fight is happening at the right time for both of them. The winner can break into the world rankings.”

Ortiz won the vacant state 135-pound title last year when he scored a pair of knockdowns en route to a unanimous eight-round decision over another Philadelphian, Jeremy Cuevas, at the Met.

The 26-year-old Ortiz last boxed Sept. 20 at the Parx Casino in Bensalem, PA, when he got off the canvas twice to earn an eight-round majority decision over Alejandro Salinas, of Youngstown, OH. Scores were 75-75, 76-74, 76-74.

A pro since 2015, Ortiz is 11-0, 3 KOs, and he has boxed only two men with losing records. Ortiz is managed and trained by Chino Rivas and promoted by DiBella Entertainment.

“It’s a big fight because we are both very talented,” Ortiz said. “It will draw a lot of attention because of our amateur backgrounds. A lot of people always wanted to see us fight.

“As amateurs, Damon was always the top guy in his division. I was the top in my division. We went to the National Golden Gloves together and we fought great fights. This match-up is going to bring the best out of us.”

Allen, 27, last boxed Oct. 25 at the 2300 Arena when he scored a unanimous six-round decision over Dieumerci Nzau, of Silver Spring, MD. That marked Allen’s first fight in his hometown in more than four years.

A pro since 2013, Allen is 16-1-1, 5 KOs. He owns a pair of victories over Mexican veterans Gamaliel Diaz and Martin Honorio.

Allen is managed by Tim VanNewhouse and David McWater, and he is trained by Brian McIntyre.

“I never wanted to be the best in the city; I want to be the best period,” Allen said. “I know he’s looking at it like it’s a big fight. This isn’t my first rodeo in a fight like this. I know what to bring and what not to bring. My mind is straight. He is going to be game.

“I have more experience in and out of the ring. He’s just another fighter in front of me. I live a boxing lifestyle. I told him to ‘come ready and prepared’ because I’m coming 110 percent.”
