MOST VALUABLE PROMOTIONS’ HISTORIC MVPW-01 POST-FIGHT PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

LONDON, ENGLAND – April 5, 2026 – Most Valuable Promotions’ (MVP) historic MVPW-01 took place tonight at Olympia in London, England, streaming live on Sky Sports in the UK and ESPN+ in the U.S., marking the launch of MVPW, the promotion’s new global platform dedicated to showcasing the sport’s elite women fighters through championship-caliber matchups year-round. The inaugural event delivered a stacked night of action, headlined by MVP’s “Sweet” Caroline Dubois (13-0-1, 5 KOs) and MVP’s undefeated, unified WBO, WBC, and IBF super bantamweight world champion Ellie Scotney (12-0). Dubolis captured the unified WBO and WBC lightweight world titles over MVP’s three-division champion Terri “Belter” Harper (16-3-2, 6 KOs), while Scotney made history as the youngest undisputed champion in UK history, male or female, and the first-ever undisputed champion at 122 lbs as she faced Mexico’s Mayelli Flores (13-2-1, 4 KOs). Additional standout performances included MVP’s Chantelle Cameron becoming the new WBO junior middleweight world champion and a two-division world champion, reigning IBF junior bantamweight champion Irma Garcia (26-5-1, 6 KOs) retaining her title, and dominant victories across the preliminary card.

At the press conference following the fights, Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of MVP and the fighters had much to discuss.

NAKISA BIDARIAN QUOTES

On getting Ellie Scotney a car:

Look, we just need Ellie to get her license and as soon as she gets that she’s she’s getting a car. We’ll talk to her about what makes sense and what she wants. I know she’s put out the G Wagon already. So, if that’s really what she wants, we’ll try to figure that out for her.

On MVP’s new rule to give fighters a car if they become the youngest undisputed male or female in history in their home country:

So just for the record, the new rule at MVP is if you become the youngest undisputed male or female in history in your country, we will get you a car. So, set that in stone. She did it because everyone’s going to be asking where’s their car every time they win. But that’s the rule.

On MVP working with Sky Sports:

Want to thank Sky Sports for believing in our vision of what women mean for boxing, the product that they can deliver. I think working with them, we delivered tonight for the sport, for these athletes, for the previous generations, current generations, and future generations.

On working with the Olympia:

I want to thank the Olympia for allowing us to come to this historic hall that was once the home of many great big boxing events. When we came to London, what we wanted to do was do something fresh, but something that meant something to the sport of boxing from a country that we’re new to and we felt that was achieved tonight.

On Dubois vs. Harper:

I thought it was a harder fight than anticipated. And in the end, I think the right person

won. But kudos to Terry Harper. What a what a champion. It’s been an honor to work with her just on this one fight and we said to her, we want her to continue to be involved in MVP.

On Chantelle Cameron:

Tonight, you saw why she is one of the goats of boxing. If Katie Taylor is a goat, then Chantelle Cameron is a goat.

On the location for Chantelle Cameron vs. Mikaela Mayer:

Probably in the US is the thought process for that fight. We’ve talked to Chantelle about that. We’ve talked to Mikaela about that. But we’ll see.

On Caroline Dubois facing Katie Taylor:

My dream scenario is for Caroline [Dubois] to be the last dance partner of Katie Taylor. The goat Chantelle Cameron just walked in and I know Katie Taylor won’t take that fight, but maybe Katie Taylor seizes an opportunity to pass the baton. Not pass it, but give Caroline the opportunity to take the baton from her. And I think that would be a massive fight at Croke Park.

CARONLINE DUBOIS QUOTES:

On her thoughts on Terri Harper following the bout:

She’s smart, you know, and she’s experienced. She knows how to get through a fight. She knows how to box. I guess their tactics was to stay away and try and counter.

On putting pressure on Harper:

I tried to do that. Could have definitely done a bit more.

On fighting Katie Taylor:

I got a lot of time for Katie. I think she’s a legend. If she said Caroline Dubois, let’s do this, you know. If she wants to test herself against me, I would jump at the opportunity. Who wouldn’t?

On fighting MVP’s Alycia Baumgardner:

I’m interested in is Alycia “The Bomb” Baumgardner. And I think we’ll be able to see who truly is the best. And I believe it’s me. That’s the fight I want by the end of the year. There’s no need to waste time. There’s no need to mess around.

On the significance of fighting MVP’s Alycia Baumgardner:

The biggest fight in women’s boxing. I want Alycia. I want her next.

ELLIE SCOTNEY QUOTES:

On preparation for the bout:

When I tell you everything that could have went wrong in camp, in the leadup went wrong, but on the night everything went right. And again, as I keep saying, all thanks be to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

On her post-fight interaction Mayelli Flores:

All props to her. I went and saw her straight away afterwards giving her belt back and she said rematch. I said, “No, thank you.”

On becoming undisputed:

I feel like I’ve waited a long time to get this moment and at certain points I thought, am I going to get it? But, you know, MVP came in, and they made sure I did.

On her mindset going into the ring:

If you want to become undisputed, being in that 1% club, you’ve got to go through whatever it takes. And I had that mindset when I went through that ring. Whatever it took, I was going to become undisputed.

On putting a spotlight on women’s boxing:

I feel like the spotlight was on women’s boxing and that’s what it’s about. I feel like if we can all come together and make noise and then we’re doing something right. So no, it was never about stealing any spotlight. It was putting the spotlight on women’s boxing and that’s what MVP are doing.

On her mother getting in the ring with her:

My mom is the backbone of me and you know, I always go back to what she’s given me and I could never give her enough back. To see her in that ring tonight and yeah she endured so much with me, so this journey was so much bigger than just me. I love my mum. I love her and tonight I hope she was proud.

CHANTELLE CAMERON QUOTES:

On the significance of her win:

It was beautiful. It was a special moment for me. It meant more to me than winning the world title.

On doing three-minute rounds:

I’m absolutely ecstatic. I’m glad to make history and do the three-minute rounds and get it under my belt now.

On doing three-minute rounds moving forward:

It did feel different. I think I had to like kind of pace myself as well, but I think it suited me a lot better because I felt like I got better shots off. But I think 3 minutes is the way forward.

On going down a weight class:

I’m going to go down a weight. I think that weight was a bit too much for me. I think I felt the size in there a bit and she was really tough and maybe down a weight I could have got the stoppage but that weight is not for me.

On facing Mikaela Mayer under three minute rounds:

I’d love it to be three minute rounds and I think Mikaela [Mayer] will do three rounds as well. I think she’s got the work rate and I think she’ll do three minute rounds and it would be a shame to go back to twos. It’s kind of like going backwards.

MOST VALUABLE PROMOTIONS’ DUBOIS VS HARPER & SCOTNEY VS FLORES FINAL PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

Also featured were main card fighters Chantelle Cameron (21-1-0, 8 KOs) vs. Michaela Kotaskova (11-0-2, 4 KOs) for the WBO super welterweight world championship (154 lbs) and Irma Garcia (25-5-1, 5 KOs) vs. Emma Dolan (8-0, 1 KO) for the IBF super flyweight world championship (115 lbs), highlighting the depth of talent across the all-action event.

Hosted by Sky Sports reporter Andy Scott, the press conference brought together fighters to address the media as anticipation builds ahead of fight night. The event streamed live on MVP’s YouTube channel and Sky Sports’ YouTube channel, giving fans around the world a front-row seat to the final pre-fight moments. See quotes below and view the full press conference on MVP’s YouTube channel HERE.

CAROLINE DUBOIS QUOTES

On her confidence that she will defeat Harper on fight night:

I’ve won every battle from the moment this fight was signed. I’ve won every battle, and I will continue to win every battle. Come fight night, I will win the battle. This is a war, this is everything.

On her intentions for Sunday’s bout:

Talk is cheap. We can all push and shove, and that’s all great, but what’s important is stepping into the ring on Sunday and kicking ass. That’s what I fully intend on doing.

On how she handles the buildup to the fight:

I’m not a weak individual. I don’t get distracted by noise. I love the noise. I run towards the fire. I don’t run away. This is my sport. This is my life. I love it. I love everything about it. The build-up, the fight, the intensity, everything. I don’t run away from it, and I’m not afraid of it.

Dubois response to Harper’s thoughts on her commentary leading up to their bout:

You can say what you want about your own projection. Maybe this is what would scare you, but it doesn’t scare me, Terri. It doesn’t scare me.

On Harper’s thoughts going into the fight:

I’d hate to be going into a fight thinking: ‘All I have is an engine.’ That’s a bit scary.

On backing up her commentary on Sunday:

Talking isn’t going to win a fight. It isn’t going to lose a fight. The one thing I really love about boxing is that anything you say, everything you say, you have to back it up. It’s so easy for trolls online to say whatever they want to say, but they go missing. They disappear, they post without a face, they say anything, and they don’t have to back up their words. But we’re fighters, we step into the ring and we 100% back up our words. I can’t wait to do that.

On her belief that she is better than Harper:

Every experience I’ve had, negative or positive, has built me to be the woman that I am today, and I think that the woman I am today is a better woman and a better fighter than anything Terri Harper brings come Sunday, and I can’t wait to prove that.

On having no animosity towards Harper:

I’ve got nothing against her as a human being, as a person. I’m sure she’s the nicest woman in the world, but that’s not what it’s about. It’s about fighting, and it’s about winning.

On pushing women’s boxing forward:

We’ve been on the back burner for so long, but now we’re pushing forward. We’re breaking boundaries.

On her experience boxing:

I’m an elite athlete. I’ve been doing this since I was nine years old. I didn’t walk into a gym when I was, I don’t know, 19 20.

TERRI HARPER QUOTES

On her thoughts going into her bout vs. Dubois:

I trust fully in the timing of my life and the time of my career that this is my moment. All those years, ever since I’ve stepped through the gym doors as a young amateur, have led to this moment.

On Dubois’ commentary leading up to the fight:

Caroline just said herself, talk is cheap, and that’s all she’s done the last 12 weeks, so. For me, I’ve been fully focused on the job that I got to do Sunday night. As you can see, I’ve been quiet on my socials for this training camp because I’ve been fully focused on the job I’ve got to do, whereas Caroline’s been arguing online, getting sucked into everything.

On how Dubois compares to fighters she’s previously faced:

Caroline is the best fighter that I’m going to fight. I’ve prepared for that.

On her plan for fight night:

That first half of the fight is where she [Dubois] is the most dangerous, so I need to be very disciplined and switched on.

On Dubois’ commentary at the press conference:

You can turn my mic off. Caroline will do my talking.

On her advantage over Dubois:

I’ve got the engine.

On Dubois saying her respect must be earned:

I do not want, and I do not need Caroline’s respect.

ELLIE SCOTNEY QUOTES

On her thoughts on potentially becoming the youngest undisputed champion in the UK in the four-belt era:

When that bell goes on Sunday, they’re all [belts] on the line. I’m going in as a challenger. Nothing else changes.

On taking on Flores’ Mexican fighting style on Sunday:

Only a one percent club becomes undisputed, and you have got to be willing to go any place. If it has to be Catford vs. Mexico, it might have to be.

On being friendly with others on the card:

So many people on this card I’ve either sparred with or brushed shoulders with, so it just shows you the movement in boxing. That’s the beauty of boxing, and that’s the beauty of MVP.

On pressure to become undisputed:

It’s a massive moment, but again it’s all talk. All that matters is Sunday, and that’s where my focus is.

On inspiring the youth to box:

I don’t just want little girls to watch us all on the show; I want little boys to watch and go, ‘I want to fight because of these ladies.’ I think every one of us on this card, at this table, on the undercard before that, will prove why women can do it and they can do it the same as men.

MAYELLI FLORES QUOTES

*All quotes have been translated from Spanish to English.

On potentially becoming Mexico’s first undisputed champion on Sunday:

If Ellie wants to beat me, she has to beat me by coming and fighting me. These belts cannot be won by running. I want to represent and do Mexico, but also Latin America, proud. I want to win all these belts at this division.

On the significance of a win:

We say in Mexico that you come back with everything or you come back with absolutely nothing.

CHANTELLE CAMERON QUOTES

On fighting three-minute rounds:

If women want equal rights and equal pay, we kind of got to do what the men are doing.

On her and MVP’s role in evolving women’s boxing:

It’s great because you see all the young ones. They’re getting their world title shots, going for undisputed. I think MVP has saved women’s boxing. I think women’s boxing was taking a massive dip. MVP has come on board and saved it.

On potential unification bout vs. Mikaela Mayer:

I’m going to focus on my job on Sunday. I never overlook any opponent. I think it’s disrespectful, but me and Mikaela have spoken loads of times, and Mikaela knows what it is. It’s nothing but respect. She’s a great opponent for me, and we’ll see what the future holds.

On a potential trilogy vs. Katie Taylor over three-minute rounds:

I think the ship sailed. I wish Katie all the best, and I hope she has her swan song, and I hope it goes well at Croke Park.

MICHAELA KOTASKOVA QUOTES

What would it mean to her to come champion of the world:

It’s a big opportunity for myself, for my country, for my boxing gym, for my coach, and manager. I’m here to win the fight and the belt. We’ve trained hard.

On fighting three-minute rounds:

I’ve become a big fan of three-minute rounds because you have to work differently. You just have to choose the right pace, and it’s more fun than the two-minute rounds, so I really enjoy it.

On supporting females who want to explore boxing:

I think for the girls it’s very important to be confident in everything they want to achieve in their lives. I think boxing is very good preparation for life.

On being amongst great female fighters on the card:

It’s very nice to be here with all these women and to show the best of what the sport has to offer.

IRMA GARCIA QUOTES

*All quotes have been translated from Spanish to English.

On her career outside of boxing:

I’ve been a police officer now for 22 years in Mexico City. I’ve served my country as a good Mexican, and I’m also a qualified lawyer and I have a degree in public administration. The other part of my life is boxing, which is a fundamental pillar of my life.

On her thoughts going into fight night vs. Emma Dolan:

I always have respect for any opponent that I’ve faced in the ring, but we’ve come here to show that we can win. We’ve put that hard work in, and we fully intend to take that belt home to Mexico and defend it.

EMMA DOLAN QUOTES

On her confidence going into Sunday’s bout:

It’s my time now. I’m here to take that belt back with me.

On being an underdog:

I’ve been the underdog in a lot of fights, and I always come over and win fairly comfortably. I don’t think this should be any different.

On her respect for her opponent, Irma Garcia:

I’ve got big respect for Irma as well. She’s a champion. You don’t get belts given to you; you have to earn them.

On a potential rematch vs. Shannon Ryan:

To be honest, Shannon is pretty irrelevant to me now.

MVPW-03 will take place on Saturday, May 30 in El Paso, Texas, headlined by the highly-anticipated rematch between MVP’s WBA lightweight world champion Stephanie Han (12-0, 3 KOs) vs. the most decorated two-sport athlete in combat sports history, Holly Holm (34-3-3, 9 KOs) as the pair return to settle the score following an accidental clash of heads that resulted in a technical decision during their first meeting in January.

MVPW debuts with MVPW-01 on Sunday, April 5 from London, England streaming live in the U.S. on the ESPN App featuring Caroline Dubois vs. Terri Harper and Ellie Scotney vs. Mayelli Flores. Sky Sports will broadcast the event live in the United Kingdom.

“Since inception MVP has strategically focused on creating an umbrella brand as the global home for women’s boxing, with the best fighters in the world, that engages existing boxing fans and attracts untapped fan demographics that embrace women’s sport, and today, we proudly enter a new era,” said Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul, co-founders of Most Valuable Promotions. ”Over the past five years, we have invested heavily in female athletes, delivered historic and record-breaking events, and proven that these athletes belong on the biggest stages in the sport. Partnering with ESPN, the worldwide leader in sports, to launch MVPW across its platforms is a historic milestone, and aligning with the world’s most iconic venue, Madison Square Garden, as we introduce the brand in the U.S. reinforces the scale and ambition behind what we are building.

“MVPW is the first boxing brand that truly features the best fighting the best on a consistent basis, and it begins in the US with one of the sport’s most electrifying champions, Alycia Baumgardner, facing top contender Bo Mi Re Shin on Friday, April 17 at Madison Square Garden, alongside unified champion Shadasia Green in the co-main event. Then on Saturday, May 30, Stephanie Han and Holly Holm will settle their rivalry in El Paso. All live on ESPN.”

“MVPW brings together some of the most accomplished and dynamic championship athletes in boxing, competing on a stage that reflects the magnitude of their talent,” said Rosalyn Durant, ESPN Executive Vice President, Programming & Acquisitions. “We’re proud to bring these championship matchups to ESPN and the ESPN App and further elevate women’s boxing for fans across the country.”

MVP’s unified 130lb world champion Alycia “The Bomb” Baumgardner was born in Fremont, Ohio, is based in Dallas, Texas, and is of German, Korean, and African-American descent. She turned pro in 2017, then shocked the world in November 2021 by knocking out Terri Harper to win the WBC world title. She defeated Edith Matthysse and Mikaela Mayer to add the WBO and IBF belts to her collection, then became undisputed in February 2023, defeating Elhem Mekhaled for the WBA title. She defended her undisputed title in the co-main event of Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 3, live on Netflix, before making a 12×3:00 unified world title defense vs. Leila Beaudoin in the co-main event of MVP’s Jake vs. Joshua: Judgment Day live on Netflix in December 2025–becoming just the second woman in boxing history to defend her unified world titles under equal rules to men’s champions.

“New York sets the tone for boxing’s biggest nights. Becoming undisputed there was monumental, and the fans have embraced me from the beginning,” said Alycia Baumgardner. “Every fight for me is about elevation; I’m here to dominate and continue building something that lasts beyond belts. ESPN is where greatness is documented, and I’m ready to perform at that level. This fight is also a special crossover: Two Korean fighters on this kind of stage is something fans don’t see often, and I’m proud to represent every part of who I am.”

South Korea’s Bo Mi Re Shin turned pro in 2016, and has since established herself as one of the leading talents in female boxing. Since 2022, Bo Mi Re Shin has fought in seven title fights. She has won the WBO Asia Pacific super featherweight title, the ?WBC International super featherweight title, and the WBA Asia lightweight title. She also challenged for the WBC lightweight world title against Caroline Dubois in March 2025, a narrow points decision for Dubois. She is currently the WBC #3, WBA #4, IBF #6, and WBO #7 contender.

“I’m really excited to have the opportunity to showcase my talents on such a big occasion in New York City,” said Bo Mi Re Shin. “This is the sort of dream fight that you always imagine. MSG, all those belts, a fierce competitor in Aylcia Baumgardner.  I’m going to make sure that I turn this opportunity into the most defining night of my life. I want to thank MVP for what they are doing for women’s boxing. The opportunities they are giving girls around the world to showcase their talents is unbelievable. I know I have a tough matchup, but I have every confidence that I will become the unified world champion. We’ve worked hard to get opportunities throughout my career, and now has come the time where I’ve jumped to a chance to capture multiple titles in one night. I won’t be denied. This is my time.”

MVP’s super middleweight powerhouse Shadasia “The Sweet Terminator” Green makes her fourth straight world title fight appearance. Green, the former standout college basketball star and Team USA boxing silver medalist from Patterson, NJ, joined MVP in January 2023. Shortly after, Green defeated former unified world champion Elin Cederroos with a vicious sixth-round TKO, marking the first and only time Cederroos was ever stopped in her career. On Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson in November 2024, Green defeated Melinda Watpool to become MVP’s first homegrown champion and the WBO world champion at 168lbs, before putting on a career-best performance to defeat then-IBF and Ring Magazine titlist Savannah Marshall on MVP’s historic Taylor vs. Serrano 3, live on Netflix, becoming the new unified super middleweight world champion.

“I am so excited to be fighting again and defending my titles,” said Shadasia Green. “Beyond that, I’m excited to be fighting in NYC and excited to put on a beautiful performance and showcase my skill set on ESPN. This platform has been around for a long time showcasing some of the best fighters ever, and I’m really happy to be a part of it.”

Lani Daniels is a two-division world champion fighting out of Whang?rei, New Zealand. She began boxing at age 24, and had around 30 amateur fights, becoming a 2x national amateur champion before turning pro. She now enters her seventh consecutive world title fight since May 2023, when she claimed the vacant IBF heavyweight title with a win over Alrie Meleisea, defending it once before moving down to win the vacant IBF light heavyweight title vs. Desley Robinson. Following another successful defense, Daniels then went the distance against Claressa Shields for the undisputed heavyweight world championship in July 2025, and most recently contended for the IBF world title at light heavyweight against Sarah Scheurich.

“From the dusty roads of Pipiwai to the world stage — back to my roots with a new corner backing me. I’ve come too far not to go further,” said Lani Daniels. “Thank you, MVP. Now it’s time to show what this M?ori girl can do!”

MVP’s WBA lightweight world champion Stephanie Han is a proud Korean-American, El Paso native, devoted mother of two, an eight-year veteran of the El Paso Police Department, and beauty pageant competitor. She launched her amateur career in 2006 before stepping away from the sport in April 2011. A decade later, she returned to boxing after helping her sister, former world champion Jennifer Han, train to take on Katie Taylor. Han knocked out Hannah Terlep to win the vacant WBA lightweight world title in February 2025, successfully defended the title in her MVP debut in August 2025, and most recently earned a technical decision win against Holly Holm after an accidental head clash caused an early stop to the bout.

“Last time the fight ended early because of the cut,” said Stephanie Han. “I got the win, but not the closure. This time in my city, there will be no excuses, no “what ifs”, and no doubt who the better fighter is. I can’t wait to showcase my abilities to millions of fans on ESPN.”

MVP’s Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm is widely regarded as the most dominant two-sport athlete in combat sports history. Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, she made her pro boxing debut in 2002 and went on to become a three-division champion, a career that later earned her induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (Class of 2022). Holm pivoted into MMA in 2014, culminating in her headlining megafight against then-undefeated champion Ronda Rousey in November 2015, the most highly-attended UFC event in history at the time. Rousey was the overwhelming favorite going into the bout, but Holm landed a sensational second round knockout, handing Rousey her first loss. With the win, Holm became the first person to win championships in both boxing and MMA, and is currently rated Boxrec’s #2 greatest pound-for-pound fighter of all time. She signed with MVP in 2025 ahead of her return to boxing on Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and subsequent title challenge vs. WBA champion Stephanie Han, ruled a technical decision due to an accidental clash of heads.

“The rematch with Han is coming, and I’m ready for it,” said Holly Holm. “She’s a disciplined, tough champion, and I respect that. I’ll be putting in the work and I WILL be ready. I’m honored to headline on ESPN once again. It’s always special working with them.”

Outside the ring, Baumgardner is breaking barriers for women, proving that skill, strength, and marketability can coexist at the highest level. About Shadasia Green

MVP’s super middleweight powerhouse Shadasia “The Sweet Terminator” Green, the former standout college basketball star and Team USA boxing silver medalist, joined MVP in January 2023 after a trailblazing start to her professional career. Shortly after, Green defeated the former unified world champion Elin Cederroos with a vicious sixth-round TKO, marking the first and only time Cederroos was ever stopped in her career. Green’s bout against Olivia Curry in August 2023 led to a resounding unanimous decision victory as part of the Paul-Diaz undercard. Green rose to #1 ranking in the WBC, WBO, WBA, and IBF ahead of her women’s championship fight against former undisputed and now-WBC super middleweight champion Franchon-Crews Dezurn for the WBC world and WBA Interim titles. The bout resulted in a disappointing decision loss for Green, who returned to the ring in July 2024 to prove her status as a title contender, earning a unanimous decision win over Canada’s Natasha Spence. Following her win, the Patterson, NJ native Green once again rose to the WBO’s #1 contender at super middleweight. Headlining the preliminary card of Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson in November 2024, Green earned her second shot at a world title, this time for the WBO super middleweight championship against Melinda Watpool. Green earned a decision win in the bout, becoming MVP’s first homegrown champion and the new WBO world champion at 168 lbs. She then entered the biggest fight of her career, unification vs. then-IBF and Ring titlist Savannah Marshall on the main card of MVP’s Taylor vs. Serrano 3 historic record-setting all-women’s card. Green had a career-best performance against Marshall, defying the odds to win by decision and earning MVP’s $250,000 Performance of the Night bonus.

About Stephanie Han

MVP’s undefeated WBA lightweight world champion Stephanie Han is a proud Korean-American and El Paso, Texas native. She has elevated her boxing career to new heights while juggling the roles of devoted mother of two, including her special needs daughter with Nicolaides-Baraitser Syndrome, serving as an eight-year veteran of the El Paso Police Department, and beauty pageant competitor for Miss Sun City and Miss Texas. She launched her amateur boxing journey in July 2006, compiling a winning record before stepping away from the sport in April 2011. A decade later, she returned to boxing after helping her sister, former IBF featherweight world champion Jennifer Han, train to take on Katie Taylor. She made a powerful return to the ring in October 2021 with a unanimous decision win over Isabel Garcia. Remaining undefeated, Han quickly rose through the ranks, most recently delivering a dominant knockout victory over Hannah Terlep to claim the vacant WBA lightweight world title. In her MVP debut in August 2025, Han successfully defended her title against Colombia’s Paulina Angel. As she continues her career under the MVP banner, Han plans to continue establishing herself as one of the premier forces in women’s lightweight boxing.

A pioneer in women’s boxing and a trailblazer in MMA, Holm is the only fighter to hold world titles in both disciplines, cementing her legacy as a generational talent and global icon. Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Holm won the IKF national amateur championship title in 2001 before making her pro boxing debut in January 2002, winning by TKO. Holm won her first title, the IBA super lightweight crown, in December 2004. After three successful title defenses, she moved up to 147 lbs and secured the WBA welterweight title in June 2006. In December 2011, Holm was defeated by Anne Sophie Mathis for the vacant IBA female and WBAN welterweight titles. Holm faced Mathis in a rematch in June 2012, avenging the loss with a UD victory to add the WBF, IBA, and WBAN titles to her collection. Holm then moved back down to the super lightweight division to win the vacant WBF and IBA titles. In May 2013, Holm cemented her legacy as she defended the WBF and IBA super lightweight titles against Mary McGee. Holm pivoted into MMA in 2014, signing a multifight deal with the UFC. Her MMA career culminated in her headlining megafight against then-undefeated bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey in November 2015, the most highly attended UFC event in history at the time. Rousey was the overwhelming favorite going into the bout, but Holm leveraged her southpaw stance and boxing skill to control the opening round before landing a sensational knockout in the second round—and handing Rousey her first loss. As she earned the title, Holm became the first person to win championships in both boxing and MMA. She is currently ranked Boxrec’s #2 greatest pound-for-pound fighter of all time and remains the most dominant two-sport athlete of all time. About Shannon Courtenay

Former WBA bantamweight world champion at 118lbs and Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire native, Shannon “The Baby Face Assassin” Courtenay transformed her life and career after discovering boxing in her early twenties, trading in a party lifestyle for intense discipline at Finchley ABC in London. Rising quickly through the professional ranks beginning in March 2019, she claimed the vacant WBA female bantamweight title on 10 April 2021 at London’s Copper Box Arena, delivering a fiercely technical and emotional unanimous decision over Australia’s Ebanie Bridges in what many hailed as one of women’s boxing’s best fights—scored 97?94, 98?92, 98?92. Courtenay’s jab proved decisive, and she overcame early cut damage and increasing pressure to outmaneuver Bridges and increasingly exploit a swelling eye that nearly shut by round eight. Unfortunately, Courtenay was stripped of her title ahead of her first defense against Jamie Mitchell in October 2021 when she came in 2.5?lb over the limit, an issue she attributed to an unexpected menstrual cycle—a rare moment of honesty that highlighted health over title retention, and lost a hard-fought majority decision despite staying in the ring through adversity. After a layoff, Courtenay returned to the ring in October 2024, edging out of a competitive points decision defeat to Catherine Tacone Ramos in a six-round bout at London’s Copper Box Arena. In her promotional debut with MVP, she defeated Jessica Radtke Maltez by UD in December 2025.

About Elizabeth Oshoba

Elizabeth Temitayo Oshoba (9-0, 5 KOs) is an undefeated 26-year-old Nigerian featherweight boxer at 126 lbs. Growing up in a challenging neighborhood in Lagos, Oshaba was inspired by her older brother in the Nigerian Army to become tough and succeed despite all odds. She began boxing at age 13, quickly distinguishing herself with a relentless work ethic and powerful punches, the start of a decorated amateur career with over 70 fights, including becoming a 6x Nigerian national amateur champion, a bronze medal at the 2019 All African Games, a gold at the 2020 African Zone 3 Championships, and winning silver at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Oshoba relocated to the UK to make her pro debut in September 2022 and has maintained an unblemished record since. In November 2023, she clinched the IBO female super featherweight title, defeating Martina Reighi via unanimous decision. In January 2024, Oshaba made history with a dominant performance against Italy’s Michela Braga, winning by 10th round knockout to become Nigeria’s first female world title holder and the WBC Silver featherweight champion. She has continued to build her undefeated record, most recently defeating Agustina Rojas in June 2024 and Lenka Volejnikova in March 2025. Outside the ring, Oshoba balances academic commitments with her deep commitment to mentoring young female boxers in Nigeria, providing support and guidance to aspiring athletes and aiming to inspire and cultivate the next generation of champions. She fights out of Bristol, England via Sango Ota, Nigeria and is managed by Lee Eaton.

CAROLINE DUBOIS QUOTES

On the significance of the fight and her legacy: “It represents the start. First off, I want to thank everyone here for coming and supporting women’s boxing and supporting the women here today with me. I’m very happy and excited to be headlining. This is amazing for me. This is the start, and I’m happy, and I’m thankful to Nakisa, to Jake Paul, to MVP for making it happen. I can’t wait. Honestly, as I said, this is the start of my future, my legacy, or my greatness. I believe I’m going all the way, and it starts with Terri.”

On her rivalry with Terri Harper: “I called her irrelevant because I believe that she is. I’m not focusing on Terry Harper, I never have, and I never will. I’m focusing on the belt, my future, and my legacy. My legacy starts with becoming undisputed at the lightweight division. Unfortunately for Terri, she’s the one holding the belt, so that’s who I’ve got in my mind. But if it were anyone, and I mean anyone, it wouldn’t matter. My energy, my intensity, and my mindset would be the same.”

On her confidence and preparation: “There’s a quote that I’ve heard recently that’s just stuck with me. It says, ‘If you want to win the lottery, you still got to make the money to buy the ticket.’ I believe Terri Harper is my lottery ticket to the future. Whatever I want is on the other side of her. But I still got to make the money, and the money is made in the gym. I’m going to work my ass to the bone. I’m going to leave no stone unturned, train like I’ve never trained before.”

TERRI HARPER QUOTES

On the opportunity and being her authentic self: “She’s doing a great job selling the fight. She’s doing my work for me. So I’m just being my authentic self. I’m here, and I’m enjoying the moment. It’s a great opportunity for me. I thank MVP and Jake Paul for putting on such a great show for us female fighters and coming back to the UK with such an amazing card. I’m focused on what I need to do.”

On her experience in the ring: “I feel like this fight is the perfect time in my career. As Caroline says, I’ve got experience, and honestly, the stars have aligned. I’ve got a great team around me now, and I’m just hungrier more than I have ever been.”

On being overlooked by Dubois: “I’ve been there in my career before, where I’ve been looking at future fights before I’ve even done the fight in front of me. That was a mistake I had to learn the hard way. I feel like Caroline is doing that now. I feel like I’m not here for her respect, but I feel like she’s massively overlooking me and thinks it’s going to be an easy night.”

On what a win over Dubois would mean to her: “For me, this fight isn’t about the belts. Like for me, I just want to beat Caroline, and that’ll be the sweetest victory of my career.”

ELLIE SCOTNEY QUOTES

On rescheduling her bout vs. Flores: “I was gutted. I was thinking, have I missed the opportunity? And you know, I always feel that the Lord’s time is better than ours. And to be fighting on the resurrection of Jesus Christ proved that to me. You know, every setback’s aligned. And April the 5th, I’ll become undisputed champion in front of my home crowd.”

On earning recognition in the UK: “I feel like I’ve done everything the right way. I’d like to think, as in I’ve never boxed for a vacant title. I’ve gone from champion to champion to champion. And the final one awaits me on April the 5th. I feel like holding integrity through it all will be the thing that will make you stand out in the long run. I just feel like doing it the right way might be the longer way, but I feel like it’s the way Ellie was meant to do it.”

On fighting in the UK: “Whenever I pictured fighting for undisputed, it was always at home. So the fact that MVP has over-delivered for me, everything I’ve thought or imagined, they bettered.

CHANTELLE CAMERON QUOTES

On how she joined the card: “Thank you to MVP, Nakisa [Bidarian], Mike [Leanardi], and Jake Paul, cause they got me this opportunity. It wasn’t in the plan, but it’s just worked out. Everything just worked out perfectly for me. I started the year off, and everything’s aligning again. I went back to Jamie [Moore] and Nigel [Travis]. It was my fourth day back in the gym, and the next thing I’m getting a phone call from my manager saying that I’ve got a world title shot as well. So, it was all within a week. I’m just thankful.”

On future bouts: “There are so many great women boxers out there now, and I’m more

looking at Mikaela Mayer, kind of that division, Lauren Price. But, you know, whatever happens happens. I think that’s what I’ve learned in my boxing career. You just got to go with the flow and win your fights.”

On the move to 3-minute rounds: “I’ve wanted to do three-minute rounds for years now, but I’ve never kind of had the opportunity. But with MVP, they are massive supporters of three-minute rounds as well. So, we spoke about it, and they were going to get me three-minute rounds, and they got me the vacant WBO world title to go along with it.”

EMMA DOLAN QUOTES

On taking the first step to becoming world champion: “I knew as soon as I turned pro I was going to be world champion, and this is the first step going towards what I want to achieve.”

On her friendship with Scotney: “Ellie’s one fight away from being undisputed champion, which is crazy. She’s always sort of setting the standard. I’m going to be the world champion on April 5th. It’s crazy, but I’m here for it, and I can’t wait for the fight.”

Dubois will make her promotional debut in a 10-round WBC lightweight world title defense at 135lbs against Italy’s Camila Panatta (8-2-1, 1 KO) on the preliminary card of MVP’s Jake vs. Joshua: Judgment Day at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, on Friday, December 19. The mega-event is headlined by the colossal global showdown between boxing’s biggest disruptor, international superstar and WBA #15-ranked cruiserweight Jake “El Gallo de Dorado” Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) and two-time unified WBO, WBA, and IBF heavyweight world champion, Olympic gold medalist and knockout machine Anthony “AJ” Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, on Friday, December 19, live only on Netflix. Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com. Dubois will also participate in all fight week events leading up to the event.

WBC lightweight world champion Caroline Dubois fights out of London, England. Her amateur career was nothing short of legendary, a dominant run that included winning the gold medal at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games, becoming England’s first World Youth Champion (2018), and capturing four European Youth Championship titles between 2016 and 2019. This amateur dominance earned her the prestigious BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award in 2019. In 2021, she represented Team GB at the Tokyo Summer Olympics, reaching the quarter-finals.

Dubois made her professional debut in February 2022 and quickly established herself in the lightweight division. In September 2023, she earned her first major professional title, winning the vacant IBO lightweight world title via unanimous decision. Her ascent continued in August 2024, when she defeated Maira Moneo to claim the WBC Interim lightweight title. Following a relinquishment of the title, Dubois was elevated to become the WBC lightweight world champion in December 2024. The 24-year-old southpaw successfully retained her titles in 2025, most recently securing a majority decision win against Bo Mi Re Shin in March. With her unbeaten record and undeniable star power, Dubois enters the MVP fold poised for unification fights and major global events.

“Signing with MVP is the next step in my career, I’m proud to be under their roster, and I believe they will be able to help me on my Quest for Greatness,” said Caroline Dubois. “The mission must be to become the face of women’s boxing. I’m super excited to make my debut on MVP and Netflix on Friday, December 19. Winning and winning in style, while announcing myself on the biggest stage and platform, is my dream and main motivation.”

“Caroline Dubois has been the most coveted free agent in women’s boxing and we are thrilled to have her join MVP.  She’s a champion, an Olympian and a rising star in the UK and beyond, and she makes her MVP debut Friday, December 19, as she joins the stacked Jake vs. Joshua card in her third world title defense.” said Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, co-founders of Most Valuable Promotions. “While existing and new boxing promoters battle about belts, MVP’s focus on women’s boxing is driven by creating a global brand, with the largest roster of elite fighters, that delivers a product that is unquestionably the best athletes in the sport. Adding an undefeated world champion of Caroline’s caliber is another key piece to that vision. She joins our elite British contingent, and we look forward to providing her the opportunity to continue her rise with an MVP event in the UK in early 2026.

Camilla Panatta is a skilled Italian southpaw whose discipline, international experience, and well-rounded style have established her as a respected contender. Born in Latina, Italy and now based in West Palm Beach, Florida, Panatta is known for her solid fundamentals, steady work ethic, and a competitive mindset that carries across borders. Since turning professional in 2021, she has built an 8-2-1 record while competing in Europe and Mexico. Her style blends sharp European technique with the pressure and resilience she developed through extensive training and fighting in Mexico. That experience strengthened her body attack, inside exchanges, and overall volume — all of which have become defining elements of her approach in the ring. Panatta was selected as a primary sparring partner for undisputed champion Katie Taylor during Taylor’s high-profile camps for the Amanda Serrano mega-fights, including their historic Madison Square Garden bout. Serving as Taylor’s first choice across multiple camps reflects Panatta’s technical quality, toughness, and ability to mirror elite styles with accuracy. Those camps also provided key insights into championship-level preparation. Known for her professionalism, adaptability, and readiness to face challenges outside her home country, Panatta continues to gain momentum and expand her footprint in the sport. She speaks English and Spanish in addition to her native Italian. Panatta has won the WBC Latin featherweight title, challenged for the WBA Gold featherweight title, and competed in Team Combat League as part of the Boston Butchers roster.

“This fight isn’t just a fight for me,” said Camila Panatta. “It’s the moment where my whole story finds its meaning. This is the opportunity of my life.”

MOST VALUABLE PROMOTIONS SIGNS ENGLAND’S THREE-DIVISION CHAMPION AND CURRENT WBO LIGHTWEIGHT WORLD CHAMPION TERRI HARPER

NEW YORK, NY – July 31, 2025 – Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) today announced that England’s first-ever three-division female world champion and current WBO lightweight world champion Terri “Belter” Harper (16-2-2, 6 KOs) is the latest elite boxer to join MVP’s decorated roster of current and former champions and all-star prospects. Earlier this week, the company also announced the signings of unified Australia’s 160lb unified world champion Desley Robinson, Tampa, Florida’s 115lb WBA world champion Jasmine Artiga, Mexico’s former 108lb unified world champion Yesica Nery Plata, England’s former 118lb WBA world champion Shannon Courtenay, and 19x US amateur national champion Sa’Rai Brown-El.

WBO lightweight world champion Terri “Belter” Harper fights out of Doncaster, England. During her brief career at the amateur level, competing only 17 times, she earned three national titles and won silver at the 2012 European Junior Championships. Harper went on to make her professional debut in 2017 at age 21. Less than two years later in July 2019, she found her first world title opportunity in the super featherweight division at 130lbs, defeating Nozipho Bell by TKO to earn the previously vacant IBO world title. Following a successful first defense, Harper quickly unified her titles against then-WBC champion Eva Wahlstrom in February 2020, winning by unanimous decision. She successfully defended her unified titles twice more before facing a challenging loss to Alycia Baumgardner in November 2021. An unshaken Harper returned to the ring just four months later to earn her next win before moving up four divisions to 154lbs to challenge Hannah Rankin for the WBA and IBO super welterweight world titles, winning by UD. After contesting for the WBO world title at 154lbs, Harper moved down to 135lbs in September 2024, defeating Rhiannon Dixon to capture the WBO lightweight world title. With the win, she became Britain’s first-ever three-division women’s world champion. Harper made her first title defense at 135lbs in May 2025, besting Natalie Zimmermann by unanimous decision. The 28-year-old is currently ranked as ESPN’s #2 lightweight in the world.

“I am excited to join the movement of women’s boxing at MVP,” said Terri Harper. “Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul are doing great things for the sport of boxing and for women in particular. I’m looking forward to some big nights and big fights ahead. Let’s go!”

“Terri has proven herself as a world champion across three weight classes, cementing her status as both a highly-versatile pound-for-pound athlete and one of the most respected names in British boxing,” said Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, co-founders of Most Valuable Promotions. “The UK is a top priority for MVP, and Terri’s pedigree and power are a perfect fit for our growing international platform. With her addition alongside Ellie Scotney, Chantelle Cameron, Savannah Marshall, Ramla Ali, and Shannon Courtenay, we’re assembling a powerhouse roster of British talent that will command global attention and deliver some of the biggest fights in women’s boxing.”

MVP’s latest wave of commitments to women’s boxing follows MVP’s historic Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 3 on Netflix, the first all-women’s card in Madison Square Garden history. The card showcased five undisputed and unified women’s world championship fights, earning a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the most world championship belts ever contested on a single fight card, male or female, with 17 world titles from the four major boxing sanctioning bodies across the bouts. The main event garnered nearly 6 million global viewers, with an AMA audience of over 4.2 million in the US (Live +1), making it the most-watched professional women’s sports event of 2025. A sold-out crowd of 19,721 people were in attendance, generating a $2.63M gate at Madison Square Garden, the highest gate ever for a women’s boxing card and the highest gate for a female sporting event in MSG history. The event also garnered record paydays, making Serrano the highest-paid women’s athlete in history for a single event.

Quotes: Terri Harper warns Dubois; Hughes says Sharp “has to pay

Doncaster, England – [May 21, 2025] – The first face-offs of fight week for GBM: Harper vs Zimmerman took place at today’s pre-fight press conference in Doncaster Rovers’ EcoPower Stadium, scene of the event taking place this Friday night and airing live worldwide on the DAZN network.

Hometown heroine Terri Harper defends her WBO World Lightweight Championship against undefeated German contender Natalie Zimmerman, while chief support Maxi Hughes and Archie Sharp will contest the WBC Silver Lightweight Championship, a valuable strap which places the winner immediately into the WBC World Championship contender conversation.

Chaired by GBM CEO Izzy Asif alongside Adam Smith, GBM’s Head of Broadcast, the press conference saw Harper talk about her pride at headlining in her home city and her intention to target bitter rival Caroline Dubois if successful on Friday night.

Former world champion Hughes talked of his burning desire to win a major world title in the near future and said the sacrifices of a hard training camp had been heavy on his two children, a price he said the talented Kent man Sharp “has to pay”.

The card also features near-lifelong rivals Tysie Gallagher and Ebonie Jones competing in a triple-title bout for Gallagher’s British, Commonwealth and WBO International Super-Bantamweight Championships.

It will be the third time the two meet in the ring but their first meeting as professionals. Their first contest was as 12 year old amateurs – Jones won both their amateur meetings.

QUOTES:

Terri Harper

“I just want to start by thanking everyone involved in making this dream come true for me headlining in my home town stadium. It’s such an amazing opportunity and I’m really excited for it, I can’t wait.

“I’ve got the fire in me, the self-belief, the love for boxing. I’m hungry again and if I don’t get a statement win here on Friday night I’ll be disappointed.”

“I don’t know what it is with Caroline Dubois or what her problem is but I honestly can’t wait to get paid to get in that girl’s face. First I’ve got to get past Natalie Zimmerman here on Friday night, then if she wants it next she can have it.”

Natalie Zimmerman

“I’ve brought in girls from all over Europe to give me hard sparring and try to replicate Terri’s style. I have really put my all into this training camp. I am at my best and I will give my best. Becoming world champion on Friday night means everything to me.”

Maxi Hughes

“The fire that I’ve got in me right now, you wouldn’t believe it. I’ve held the IBO world title and my goal has always been to get one of the big four. I’ve been very close to that goal before and that’s why I need to win that WBC Silver title here on Friday night – it puts me right in the mix for a world title shot.

“Archie Sharp is a good kid but there’s been a lot of sacrifice, a lot of hours in the gym and away from home. I saw my children crying night after night when I had to leave them and go to the gym for hours again. Archie Sharp is going to have to pay for that on Friday.”

Archie Sharp

“I’m very confident in what I can do. That’s why I am coming to his home town to do it. It’s a big opportunity for me. I feel great at this weight and my preparation has been great. All I can say is I am ready.”

Tysie Gallagher:

“I want to become world champion and Ebonie Jones is standing in the way of that. You’re going to see a great clinical performance and me winning in ten rounds or less.”

“Those amateur fights mean nothing. I was 12 and 17 years old when they happened. Now I am an established professional holding multiple belts. I live and train like a true professional champion and I am getting better with every fight.”

Ebonie Jones

“Winning these titles will open up a lot of doors for me, so I’ve been training very, very hard. Holding these belts is a pathway to bigger things. I’m standing in the way of Tysie getting those big opportunities and I’m going to seize them for myself. No predictions, except I am confident my hand gets raised.”

Izzy Asif (Promoter)

Terri Harper defending in her home city in its famous stadium. Maxi Hughes, another hometown hero, taking on the very dangerous Archie Sharp, with both of them looking for that world title opportunity. Tysie Gallagher and Ebonie Jones, lifelong rivals meeting again with three belts on the line. And that’s only the top three fights on the card!

This main card is stacked with 50-50 fights and even just as a boxing fan I’m excited for Friday night. It’s going to be an amazing event for the thousands in attendance and the masses watching live worldwide on DAZN.

RHIANNON DIXON VS. TERRI HARPER + UNDERCARD  FINAL PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

Frank Smith, Matchroom Boxing CEO:

“We want to make the best possible fights for our fighters. It’s never easy watching two fighters you represent because you can’t pick sides. Our job is to deliver the best possible opportunity. This is a great fight. Rhiannon is coming off the back of that great win where she captured the World Title. Terri Harper has a lot more experience in the pro ranks than Rhiannon. Fair play to them both for taking this opportunity because a lot of people wouldn’t go down this route and wouldn’t take this chance. For us, we build the fighters up so we want to do it in-house, we want to make as many in-house fights as possible. We think it makes sense. When we build the profile, I think it makes a lot of sense to do it, and we’ll be doing more of it down the line. You’ve seen it with Sunny Edwards vs. Galal Yafai on November 30th. It’s a brilliant fight, and that’s what we’re going to continue to do. It’s about making the best fighters possible and delivering for the fighters we represent.”

Rhiannon Dixon:

“I didn’t celebrate that much when I won the World Title because I thought I was rubbish! I actually got out of the ring and was like, ‘that was so embarrassing’. Ant (Crolla) thought I was rubbish too. I feel like I’ve got a point to prove now. I feel like I didn’t even show half of what I can do.

“I think that’s why Ant calls me a bit of a perfectionist. Sometimes I can’t enjoy what I’ve actually achieved. I’m excited to show everything that I’ve learnt since then. I still can’t believe it when I’m referred to as a World Champion. I genuinely can’t believe it. I feel like it’s just the beginning now. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

“It’s boosted my confidence massively. When I was first on DAZN cards, I had a bit of imposter syndrome as I’d only had seven white-collar fights. Going from Commonwealth to European Champion to World Champion has boosted my confidence. I belong at this stage.

“With peace and love, I believe she says things that she doesn’t genuinely believe. That’s why when she said she was going to stop me, I laughed because I thought, ‘that’s not going to happen, is it?’

“This is definitely my toughest fight – I’m under no illusions about that – but it’s a fight I’ve been ready for for a long time and one I’m really excited for. When I win at the weekend, it shoots me into these massive fights which is something I’m really excited for.”Terri Harper:

“The body is feeling the best it’s ever felt. I feel like a new person. It’s nice not to be carrying around all of that extra muscle and that extra weight. I just feel like I’ve found this free speed. In training it’s easier to train. I think for the first time I’ve actually enjoyed the weight cut. Pardon the pun but it has made me hungrier for the win on Saturday night.

“In the first round (against Sandy Ryan), I went out and threw everything I had at her. After the first round, that’s when I really felt Sandy’s presence; the extra weight, the strength, just everything. I couldn’t match it. I remember Andrew [Bullcroft] saying to me after the third round, ‘Terri if you’re not giving me anything in the next round, I’m stopping the fight’ and that’s what he did.

“I’m a big fan of Rhiannon. She’s very fast and her boxing style is really nice, but I have to look at what I’m good at. This is the first time Rhiannon’s stepped up. I feel like her fighting me is her first true challenge. It’s a great fight for both of us.

“I know a lot of fighters are awkward being in with southpaws, but I enjoy it. I’ve always found it comfortable being in the ring with them. I’ve been with my old amateur coach (Paul Durose) for the full camp and working on little shots that we can get off.

“I just want a good win to celebrate with my team and my close ones around me so that I cement myself back into these weight divisions. I feel like I’ve got all the experience at this point in my career to go out there and put on a dominant performance. It’ll be the first time in a long time that I’ll go into the ring without disadvantages in weight. I feel like this fight is perfect for me.”Peter McGrail:

“Coming off the back of a loss, and the way it was, you don’t want to be coming off the back of two losses do you. It was win by any means on that night against Marc Leach and that’s what we done’ we got the win against Leach.

“He’s a fighter coming to win; determined isn’t he? As you said he’s a former British and Commonwealth Champion. I think he’s had three losses and I think two of those possibly could have been controversial. He could have one loss on his record. Me and Brad are going to war on Saturday and that’s all I’ve been thinking about for the past 12 weeks.

“He’s a good fighter. I respect him. I’ve trained my arse off and I’m more than ready. I’m in the shape of my life and I can’t wait to show you all what I’ve been working on this Saturday. just want a dominant performance. It could go early or it could go over the full ten rounds. I’m more than ready for the ten rounds. I’m ready to go and I can’t wait.”

Brad Foster:

“I’ve still got loads of ambition. I’ve got goals in this game. Peter is the next step. Get through this one and then I’m back up there. My name isn’t in there yet. I’ve got to get my name in there. Beat him, and then my name will be there.

“Peter is in for a hard fight. I’m coming to win. Fully focused. Fully focused myself. I’m coming to win, I’m telling you. We’ll see on Saturday night. I’m very confident. It’s a good time to fight Peter McGrail. It’s always a good time. I’m fresh. I’m 26-years-old. I turned pro when I was 18. I’m fresh as a daisy. Brad Foster win, by any means necessary.”

George Liddard:

“Everyone keeps saying that it’s going to be my first real step up. I think I’ve been in with two undefeated fighters already. Obviously both early on in their careers too, young and hungry fighters. For me, it’s not my first test. Every fight has been a test in some way, shape or form. The record you could say is stepping up but I’m more than ready for the task ahead. I think I’m the toughest opponent he will have faced for sure. We’ll see Saturday night.

“I was mandatory for the Southern Area Title; didn’t quite get that fight across the line for some reason. But look, Saturday night, it’s not a title fight, but I’m going in there with the same intentions to win. For me, it half is a title fight because I have to win this to get to those. I want to win the British Title by this time next year. I’ve got these steps on the way. I can pick up the Southern Area and the English on the way; that’s perfect. A few more fights and I’m ready for that for sure. I’ve just got to keep on passing these tests.”

Jimmy Sains:

“To be honest looking back I probably wouldn’t have believed you. Maybe 6-0, but I don’t know about 6 KO’s as well! Just them few years as an amateur, training with the pros, like you said with Tony – they definitely helped me develop and come into a man a lot more. I’ve got my man strength coming through and my boxing ability has come on loads sparring with the pros. That’s where the KO’s have come from.

“My last two amateur fights were actually here in Sheffield in the Three Nations. I had two KO’s in two days – one was Ste Clarke like you said. It was a great ending for my amateur career. It was the perfect time for me to move into the pros.

“This year has been all about getting as active as I can. Getting all of the pro experience under my belt and getting a few rounds under my belt which I have done in my last couple of fights. It’s going to put me in a good position when I move into eight and ten round fights.”

Giorgio Visioli:

“It was amazing really (Joshua vs. Dubois). I stepped into the stadium and straight away I got goosebumps. It was surreal. I’d never watched a fight there before. It was my first time. It was a real eye-opener and I’d love to box there one day and maybe headline. It’s a bit difficult, maybe even just to be on a card there would be amazing.

“My first year as a professional has gone really well. I’ll be real, I’d say I didn’t expect the KO’s because obviously in the amateurs I wasn’t really know as a knockout artist. But it’s gone really well. Obviously you’ve seen the three knockouts. There’s more to come and I’m looking forward to going on Saturday.”

Ibraheem Sulaimaan:

“I’m different. I’m going to come out different and he’s going to get stopped 100%. I need more fights. The more fights I have, the more I can show. The more I show, the better everyone will see me. I rate myself a lot. Let’s get this one over and done with, another clinical performance, and then onto the next.”

Josh Babb:

“Firstly I’d like to thank Frank, Eddie and Matchroom for the opportunity. I had a good amateur career; over 70 fights. My last fight, I boxed a good experienced man in Marvin Solano. So now I think this is my time. I haven’t got the same style as Ali, so I think Majid is was all wrong for him. I just can’t wait now.”

Brandon Scott:

“I just felt like it was the right step, the right thing to do at the right time right now. As mad as it sounds, this is technically home soil for me. I’ve got something to prove on Saturday. I’ve got a good fight. I’ve learnt so much from my last fight which I’m so glad happened, you know when I boxed the terminator. We’ve been working on that so much in the gym.

“Like I say, I’m so glad it’s happened, because this is what I need to progress as a fighter. I know I do stupid silly things and I know I’m very silly, but I want to be a great boxer. That’s all I’ve ever wanted since I was younger, when I was bullied all the time for being obese.

“People laughed at me for saying I wanted to be a boxer. Then I became a great amateur boxer. I won the Welsh Nationals every time I entered them. I won the British Championships, represented Wales in the European Games, won loads of international tournaments and now people are laughing at me because I’m saying I want to be the best in the world as a professional.

“I don’t care how many obstacles life throws in my way, how many times life tries to get in my way. I will not stop until I get where I want. I’m going to be relentless in the pursuit of greatness and I will not let nothing stop me. If I want to wear a Spider-Man costume on the way, let me do that.”

VIDEO: Dalton Smith Vs Jose Zepeda & Sandy Ryan Vs Terri Harper Press Conference

HARPER: I’M GOING TO TAKE SANDY INTO DEEP WATERS, THIS IS THE PERFECT TIME TO FIGHT HER

Terri Harper believes winning a World Title in a third weight category would cement her name amongst the elite fighters in women’s boxing.

The 27-year-old from Denaby Main returns to the arena where she won her first World Title back in 2020 to take on Derby’s reigning WBO Welterweight World Champion Sandy Ryan in a huge battle of Britain tis Saturday – live worldwide on DAZN.

‘Belter’, who currently holds the WBA Super-Welterweight World Title, is aiming to return to winning ways in front of her home crowd after a frustrating draw with modern great Cecilia Braekhus on the massive Leigh Wood vs. Josh Warrington card last October.

“I’ve got a chance to become a three-weight World Champion and what better place to do that than in front of my home crowd?” said Harper. “They were there when I became World Champion against Eva Wahlstrom and hopefully they’ll be there when I become a three weight World Champion against Sandy Ryan.

“This is the fight that I’ve wanted for years. It’s a big domestic fight and I’m just keeping that in the back of my head. I’m an experienced championship fighter now and I can only use it to my advantage. Win this fight and it opens up many doors and really sets me up there with the elite.

“This is a must-win fight for us both. I feel like it’s come at the point in both of our careers where it’ll open up those doors and lead to meg fights. So, we’re both hungry and we really both want the win. For me now, I do want the big fights. I feel like they’re going to fetch out the best performances in me.”

Ryan steps into the ring for the very first time with her new training team this Saturday after parting ways with her long term trainer Clifton Mitchell at the back end of 2023 following her controversial draw with Jessica McCaskill, and Harper (14-1-2, 6 KOs) says now is the perfect time to face the former Team GB standout.

“If I were to choose a time to fight Sandy it would be now,” said Harper. “Obviously she’s had the split with Clifton and she’s gone over to Vegas and got a new team around her. I feel like this is the first fight with that team so I know how I’d feel if I was getting in the ring with a new team and not Andrew (Bullcroft). Like I said, I feel this is the perfect time and opportunity to fight Sandy.

“Sandy moving over to Vegas obviously shows dedication to the sport. I feel like she’s coming away from all of the distractions over here and going out there and focusing on her training. It’s a commitment. I take my hat off to her to be going out there and really putting everything on the line for this fight.

“I feel like Sandy is obviously well-schooled, she’s come from the Team GB background and stuff like that. She’s got good stoppages with body shots and stuff so I’ve just got to be aware of that on the night and really just focus on myself and what I can bring to the fight.

“I just know how the spars went. If the fight goes that way it’s going to be an exciting fight for the fans. I know I’m going to take Sandy into deep waters, I’m going to make her ask a lot of questions. If the best version of myself turns up on the night then I beat Sandy comfortably and I see my hand being raised; And The New.”

Ryan vs. Harper is part of a huge night of action in Sheffield, the Steel City’s fast-rising Super-Lightweight contender Dalton Smith (15-0, 11 KOs) steps up against the USA’s three-time World Title challenger Jose Zepeda ( 37-4, 28 KOs) for the WBC Silver Title, it’s Leeds against Darlington as Ishmael Davis (12-0, 6 KOs) and TroyWilliamson (20-2-1, 14 KOs) meet in a Final Eliminator for the British Super-Welterweight Title,  Hyde’s Campbell Hatton (14-0, 5 KOs) goes for his first title when he meets Doncaster’s James Flint (13-1-2, 3 KOs) for the Central Area Super-Lightweight Title, Mansfield’s Nico Leivars (5-0-1) takes on Southend’s Piotr Mirga (7-2) in a Final Eliminator for the English Bantamweight Title, Sheffield Light-Heavyweight Liam Cameron (22-5, 9 KOs) returns after his first-round win over Harry Matthews last month, Newham Super-Welterweight prospect Leli Buttigieg (2-0, 1 KO) fights for the second time this year and Cusworth Middleweight Connan Murray (6-0, 1 KO) kicks off the Before The Bell action.

RYAN: WE TRIED TO GET IT AT HER WEIGHT BUT SHE DIDN’T WANT IT

Sandy Ryan defends her WBO Welterweight crown against Terri Harper in a huge all-British World Title clash on the undercard of Dalton Smith vs. Jose Zepeda at the Utilita Arena Sheffield this Saturday March 23, live worldwide on DAZN

The Derby native (6-1-1, 2 KOs) would have relished a shot at becoming a two-weight World Champion against her Denaby Main rival – who holds the WBA Super-Welterweight World Title – but will instead have to make do with defending her own gold for the second time.

“We tried to get it at her weight but she didn’t want it at her weight so I’m defending my title,” said Ryan. “That’s just the facts. Of course I would have liked to have fought for her belt. I wouldn’t mind being a two-weight World Champion. They wanted to fight for my belt so they’ve still got their belt at 154lbs after the fight.”

Ryan will be looking to bounce back from a controversial split decision draw against WBC and WBA World Champion Jessica McCaskill in Orlando last September. The 30-year-old was left bitterly disappointed following her World Title unification clash having felt she did enough to earn a career-best win.

“Obviously I didn’t get the Jessica McCaskill rematch that everyone wanted to see. I needed another big fight to get me going. This is the one. Everyone saw that I won the fight but it’s not on my record is it and I haven’t got all the belts around me. I’ve learnt from it and it’s brought me to where I am now.

“I don’t want to fight someone who nobody knows. They asked if I wanted to take the fight with Terri and I just said yes straight away. The British fans are loving it; two British females, two World Champions – so it’s quite a big fight in the UK. ‘And Still’, that’s all I keep visualising.

“I think at this stage every fight is a must-win. I’ve just got to train hard like I have done and be fully prepared. She’s a good boxer. She’s good at the basics. She’s going to be fit, she’s going to be strong, she’s always in shape. I’m expecting her to come ready.”

Following the frustration of her US debut, Ryan made the decision to part ways with her entire management and training team. The former Team GB standout is now managed by Brian Peters – manager to Irish icon Katie Taylor – and trained by Emanuel ‘Flick’ Savoy at the DLX gym in Las Vegas.

“At the end of last year a lot of changes happened in my career. I changed management, changed trainers and moved out here.  made the decision to bring myself away from the UK. I feel it works better for me to be out of the UK to do a training camp. I feel like I’m fully focused. I’ve come here and I’m training really hard.

“I just love the way they work here in the gym. They really break things down. At this level that’s just what I need. Even in sparring, you’ve got to work on certain things making sure your shots are perfect. Keep doing them and doing them until I get the shots right. I’ve got all of the fundamentals and stuff, but I never really worked on them continuously until stepping in this gym.

“Before my last fight, I came out here like four weeks to finish camp off and I loved it. The people in the gym, we got along really well. They were just welcoming me to come back and it was a great decision that I made.

“It’s alright being away from home. As you know, I used to go to Portugal and stuff – but that’s like a 2-hour flight. This is literally like 11-hour flights. It kind of feels a bit different. I can’t just go home at the weekend. That’s probably been a bit of a mental challenge as well, but I’ve got a really good team around me right now and I’m happy.”

HARPER BATTLES FORMER POUND-FOR-POUND NO.1 BRAEKHUS FOR WBA AND WBO 154LBS WORLD TITLES IN SHEFFIELD ON OCTOBER 7

Terri Harper will clash with former world pound-for-pound No.1 Cecilia Braekhus for the WBA and WBO Super-Welterweight World Titles on the undercard of Leigh Wood’s WBA Featherweight World Title defence against Josh Warrington at the Utilita Arena Sheffield on Saturday October 7, live worldwide on DAZN.

The pair were originally slated to square off for Harper’s WBA crown on the historic Katie Taylor vs. Chantelle Cameron show at the 3Arena in Dublin earlier this year, but Braekhus was forced to withdraw from their fight on the morning of the event due to an illness.

Former WBC and IBO Super-Featherweight World Champion Harper (13-1-1 6 KOs) won the WBA 154lbs World Title by widely outpointing Scotland’s Hannah Rankin at the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham in September last year – her first fight up at Super-Welterweight.

Norway’s Braekhus (37-2, 9 KOs), a former undisputed ruler at 147lbs, is attempting to become a two-division World Champion. ‘First Lady’, a modern pioneer of women’s boxing, held the WBC and WBA World Titles at Welterweight from 2009 to 2020, also picking up the WBO Title in 2010 and the IBF Title in 2014.

Braekhus lost the titles by majority decision to Jessica McCaskill in August 2020 in Downtown Tulsa, USA and lost again to ‘CasKILLA’ in a rematch at the American Airlines Center in Dallas in March 2021. McCaskill is the only fighter to have beaten Braekhus as a professional.

“The fight went down really well with the fans the first time and it would’ve been a shame for it to have never happened,” said Harper. “I’m excited and grateful to everyone for making it happen again and it’ll be even more special this time with the opportunity of unifying the division.

“When the fight fell through last time I sulked for the weekend but thanks to Matchroom and Eddie I was back in the gym the following Monday ready for another fight week. Looking back this experience has made me a stronger fighter with even more experience now gained.

“Cecilia is an icon of the sport and has already done everything I want to achieve. That’s why me and my team were so keen to pursue this fight. I see this fight as a passing of the baton and another stepping stone towards my ultimate goal of becoming undisputed at the weight.

“It feels good to be back in front of my home crowd. From the beginning of my career I’ve had a great following and come fight night I’ll have thousands in there showing their support. Last time out in Sheffield didn’t go the way I planned but I’m excited to back to winning ways on home soil.

“I won my first World Title at Sheffield Arena and then lost them there, now it’s time to become unified World Champion at that same arena. It’s a huge night of boxing with a massive domestic fight headlining, I’m very lucky to be chief support and I will make sure I put on a good show. Not to jinx it but every time I’ve fought on Leigh’s undercard we’ve both had the desired outcome.”

“I’m delighted to announce the chief support bout for what will a monster night of World Title action on Saturday October 7,” said Matchroom Sport Chairman Eddie Hearn. “Two-weight World Champion Terri Harper gets the biggest fight of her life as she makes the first defence of her WBA Super-Welterweight World Title against former pound-for-pound No.1 and undisputed Welterweight ruler Cecilia Braekus, with the vacant WBO crown now also on the line.

“We were all gutted for Terri after Cecilia was forced to withdraw from their original fight on the historic Katie Taylor vs. Chantelle Cameron card in Dublin earlier this year due to illness, but now ‘Belter’ will be backed by thousands of her own supporters as she goes for the biggest win of her career. Roll on October 7 live worldwide on DAZN!”

“This fight has been a long time coming but it will be worth the wait to be on such an amazing card,” said Harper. “All eyes around the world will be watching that night and I want to show everyone who Terri Harper is.”

“I’m very excited to challenge Terri Harper for the WBA 154lb. World Title on this tremendous card, my first time fighting in Ireland,” said Braekus. “I’ve spent my entire career facing the toughest challenges and
this fight is another chapter.”

“I’m delighted to announce the first undercard fight for what will be one of the greatest nights of boxing in Irish history on Saturday May 20 – and what a fight!” said Matchroom Sport Chairman Eddie Hearn. “Two-weight World Champion Terri Harper gets the biggest fight of her life as she makes the first defence of her WBA Super-Welterweight World Title against former pound-for-pound No.1 and undisputed Welterweight ruler Cecilia Braekus.

“Two unbelievable World Title fights already confirmed for Katie Taylor’s historic homecoming fight against undisputed Super-Lightweight Champion Chantelle Cameron and there’s still so much more to come. We’re building an incredible show on May 20 and we will be confirming the next undercard fight tomorrow – it’s another cracker! Roll on May 20 live worldwide on DAZN.”

“It is an honour to prepare Terri for a contest with arguably one of the greatest females of all time in Cecilia Braekhus,” said trainer and manager Stefy Bull. “This has just got a whole lot more exciting now we are sharing a bill with what I believe has the potential to be the best and most thrilling fight female boxing can deliver in Katie Taylor vs. Chantelle Cameron. Two of the best female fighters on the planet in an undisputed vs. undisputed clash – May 20 is going to be one hell of a night.”

“Cecilia has accomplished so much as the long reigning undisputed Welterweight Champion, we are excited that she is now getting this opportunity to challenge Teri Harper for the WBA Super-Welterweight World Title,” said Tom Loeffler

“Cecilia is one of the most accomplished female boxers in the sport with 3 Guinness Book World Records, we’re excited to work with Eddie, Matchroom and DAZN again for Cecilia being on this tremendous show in Dublin, Ireland.”

INJURY RULES WOOD OUT OF LARA WORLD TITLE DEFENCE; SHOW GOES AHEAD WITH HUGHES VS. GALAHAD TITLE CLASH NOW HEADLINING

A torn bicep suffered in sparring has ruled Leigh Wood out of his WBA Featherweight World Title defence against Mexico’s Mauricio Lara at the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham on Saturday September 24.

The show will go ahead, with Rossington’s Maxi Hughes defending his IBO Lightweight World Title against Sheffield’s former IBF Featherweight World Champion Kid Galahad in a huge Yorkshire derby at the top of the bill, live worldwide on DAZN (excluding Australia and New Zealand).

‘Maximus’ (25-2-2, 5 KOs), who is undefeated since November 2019, landed the IBO crown with a shutout points win over dangerous Mexican Jovanni Straffon in September last year before making a successful first defence against Ryan Walsh in March.

Galahad (28-2, 17 KOs) will be looking to return to winning ways up at Lightweight after suffering a shock knockout loss to Spanish veteran Kiko Martinez in what was supposed to be a routine maiden defence of his IBF title at the Sheffield Arena in November 2021.

On a stacked undercard, Denaby Main’s Terri Harper (12-1-1, 6 KOs) leaps up in weight to challenge Scotland’s Hannah Rankin (12-5, 3 KOs) for her IBO and WBA Super-Welterweight World Titles in an intriguing England vs. Scotland clash.

Former IBO and WBC Super-Featherweight World Champion Harper lost her titles at the hands of the USA’s Alycia Baumgardner on the undercard of Galahad vs. Martinez last year before landing the WBA Intercontinental Lightweight Title against Yamila Belen Abellaneda in March.

Rankin captured gold by decisioning Maria Lindberg over 10 rounds at the Tottenham Hotspur FC Banqueting Hall in November 2021 before defending her belts against Mexico’s Alejandra Ayala at The SSE Hydro, Glasgow in May.

Birmingham Heavyweight prospect Solomon Dacres (4-0, 1 KO) meets Dominic Akinlade (9-3-1, 4 KOs) over ten rounds, former Team GB Olympian Cheavon Clarke (2-0, 2 KOs) looks to maintain his perfect start to life in the Cruiserweight division against Argentina’s Marcos Nicolas Karalitzky (7-5-2, 2 KOs), Alnwick Welterweight talent Cyrus Pattinson (4-0, 2 KOs) has his fifth fight in the paid ranks, new Matchroom Super-Welterweight signing Junaid Bostan (2-0, 2 KOs) aims to make it three knockouts from three fights, Mansfield Super-Bantamweight prospect Nico Leivars (2-0-1) returns to action after his technical draw in Sheffield and Wigan Lightweight Rhiannon Dixon (5-0) fights for the first time under the STN Sports banner.

“We’re gutted to lose such an explosive headliner in Leigh Wood vs. Mauricio Lara so close to fight week but unfortunately Leigh suffered a torn bicep during sparring and there’s no way he can get in the ring against such a dangerous opponent with only one arm,” said Matchroom Sport Chairman Eddie Hearn. “I’m pleased to confirm that our show at the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham on September 24 will go ahead with the IBO Lightweight World Title clash between Yorkshire rivals Maxi Hughes and Kid Galahad now topping the bill.

“There’s more World Title action on the undercard with Hannah Rankin defending her WBA and IBO Super-Welterweight belts against former Super-Featherweight World Champion Terri Harper. Both Hughes vs. Galahad and Rankin vs. Harper are worthy of headlining their own shows and we’ve got some of the best emerging talent featuring on the undercard such as Cyrus Pattinson and Junaid Bostan.”

Ticket refunds are available from the point of purchase until Tuesday September 20.

ALL-OUT WAR: WOOD DEFENDS FEATHERWEIGHT CROWN AGAINST LARA ON SEPTEMBER 24

Leigh Wood will defend his WBA Featherweight World Title against Mauricio Lara at the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham on Saturday September 24, live worldwide on DAZN (excluding Australia and New Zealand).

Wood (26-2, 16 KOs) memorably stopped Michael Conlan in the 12th and final round of his epic first defence of the WBA 126lbs title back in March, knocking the Irishman out of the ring in brutal fashion to end their Fight of the Year battle.

‘Leigh-thal’ was heavily dropped in the opening round and looked to be heading towards his third loss in the pros before brilliantly fighting back to earn a stunning win that will be talked about for many years to come.

After a fight with WBA ‘Super’ Champion Leo Santa Cruz failed to transpire, in an incredibly gutsy move, Wood has chosen to prove himself against one of the most feared knockout artists in world boxing.

Lara (24-2-1, 17 KOs) floored and ruthlessly finished Josh Warrington in a sensational upset behind closed doors at The SSE Arena, Wembley in February 2021, ending the IBF Featherweight World Champion’s unbeaten record

‘Bronco’ rematched Warrington in front of a sold-out Headingley Stadium in Leeds seven months later, but a nasty cut over the left eye of the Mexican in round two caused by an accidental clash of heads resulted in the contest ending in a technical draw.

The power-punching 24-year-old blitzed Emilio Sanchez in three rounds earlier this year on the undercard of Roman Gonzalez vs. Julio Cesar Martinez in another destructive show of brute force to put the 126lbs division on notice.

Rossington’s IBO Lightweight title holder Maxi Hughes (25-5-2, 5 KOs) aims to continue his incredible run of form when he takes on Sheffield’s former IBF Featherweight World Champion Kid Galahad (28-2, 17 KOs) in a Yorkshire derby.

‘Maximus’, who is undefeated since November 2019, landed the IBO crown with a shutout points win over dangerous Mexican Jovanni Straffon in September last year before making a successful first defence against Ryan Walsh in March.

Galahad will be looking to return to winning ways up at Lightweight after suffering a shock knockout loss to Spanish veteran Kiko Martinez in what was supposed to be a routine maiden defence of his IBF title at the Sheffield Arena in November 2021.

Denaby Main’s Terri Harper (12-1-1, 6 KOs) leaps up in weight to challenge Scotland’s Hannah Rankin (12-5, 3 KOs) for her IBO and WBA Super-Welterweight World Titles in an intriguing England vs.

“I maybe have a handful of fights left and I want them to be my biggest,” said Wood. “I want to be tested. I’m filling arenas now and I want to keep that momentum going. Every fight should be a step forward, not backwards. Mauricio Lara is dangerous but high risk high reward, I’m confident I can do what Josh Warrington couldn’t do and get the job done.”

“I’m very excited,” said Lara. “This is the opportunity that I have worked so hard for and I am not going to miss it. I am aware that Leigh Wood is a great fighter, but no one is going to take away the possibility of me becoming a World Champion. I’m going to England for the third time and it’s like I’m fighting at home.”

“This is an unbelievable fight and Leigh Wood has massive cojones for stepping up to the plate again in Nottingham,” said Matchroom Sport Chairman Eddie Hearn. “Last time out he gave us one of the most dramatic fights for many years and fans can expect all the drama again on September 24. It’s a huge card with Terri Harper stepping up the divisions attempting to become a two division champion against Hannah Rankin and a brilliant Yorkshire derby for the IBO title between Maxi Hughes and Kid Galahad with lots more to be announced. Expect another incredible atmosphere at the Nottingham Arena on September 24.”

“This is an all-action card from top to bottom and a great way to kick off our UK autumn schedule,” said Joe Markowski, EVP at DAZN Group. “Wood vs. Lara will be an absolute humdinger of a fight and in Hughes vs. Galahad and Rankin vs. Harper we have two fights that are worthy of headlining shows by themselves. Do not miss this fight night! Live and exclusive, on DAZN.”

Tickets for Wood vs. Lara are priced at £40, £60, £100, £150 and £250 (VIP)

Matchroom Fight Pass members will be able to purchase tickets from midday on Thursday August 25. Priority ticket info will be emailed directly to eligible members ahead of the on sale time.

Alycia Baumgardner Press Conference Quotes

“My confidence is at an all-time high, I’ve been preparing for this moment for a very long time in my career and being in boxing for twenty years – this moment everybody dreams of. Here I am, well prepared and ready to give a great fight Saturday night. I’m ready to showcase what women’s boxing has been doing and give a different look on what a lot of boxing fans haven’t seen from me and from a women’s boxing perspective.

“It is a very dangerous fight for Terri, I pose a big threat, again just the experience I have with over 100 amateur fights and many former World Champion’s training camps. I’ve been prepared for these moments, just to go out there Saturday night to really do what I do best and get the win – I will become a two-time World Champion come Saturday night.

“Like I said, my confidence is at 100, there’s levels to this game and I believe I’ve been on that level, but I haven’t been given the opportunity to showcase that. Now on Saturday I’ll be able to show the many levels of boxing of what I have to offer to the sport and what I have to show Terri Harper Saturday night. She hasn’t been in the ring with somebody like me, I’m definitely going to show her and punish her every round.”

Harper of Denaby, England is 11-0-1 with six knockouts. The 25 year-old Harper won the WBC Title with a 10-round unanimous decision over Eva Wahlstrom (23-1-2) on February 8, 2020 in Sheffield. VIDEO: Live Press Conference: Kid Galahad vs Kiko Martinez + Harper vs Baumgardner

GALAHAD AND HARPER TOP NOVEMBER 13 WORLD TITLE DOUBLE-HEADER IN SHEFFIELD

Kid Galahad will make the maiden defence of his IBF Featherweight World Title against former World Champion Kiko Martinez on the same night that WBC and IBO Super-Featherweight ruler Terri Harper returns to put her belts on the line against the USA’s Alycia Baumgardner, exclusively on DAZN worldwide – excluding Australia and New Zealand.

The World Title double-header lands at the Utilita Arena Sheffield on Saturday November 13 and is supported by a stellar undercard that features Chris Billam-Smith (13-1, 10 KOs) making the first defence of his European Cruiserweight Title, Leeds Super-Bantamweight talent Hopey Price (6-0, 2 KOs), James Flint (9-0-1, 2 KOs) battling Dom Hunt (7-0, 1 KO) for the Central Area Welterweight Title, Donte Dixon (5-0, 3 KO) squaring off with Jordan McCorry (19-7-1, 4 KOs) in an eight-round Super-Featherweight contest, Raven Chapman (1-0, 1 KO), Sheffield Light-Heavyweight Khalid Ayub (1-0) and Oldham debutant William Cawley.

Sheffield’s Galahad (28-1, 17 KOs) turned in a superb performance as he clinically stopped Liverpool’s Jazza Dickens in eleven rounds to claim the vacant IBF crown at Matchroom HQ in Brentwood, Essex back in August – fulfilling his life-long dream of becoming a World Champion.

The Dominic Ingle-trained 31-year-old is targeting supremacy at 126lbs, and has already called for unification fights with the likes of WBC ruler Gary Russell Jr. and WBO Champion Emanuel Navarrete, but must first get past former IBF Super-Bantamweight Champion Martinez (42-10-2, 29 KOs).

Spain’s Martinez is relishing the opportunity to become a two-weight World Champion after suffering a controversial loss at the hands of Manchester’s Zelfa Barrett at The SSE Arena, Wembley earlier this year, and the 35-year-old is well known on these shores having shared the ring with multiple World Champions.

Harper (11-0-1, 6 KOs) looked sensational as she stopped Norway’s Katharina Thanderz in nine rounds to retain her WBC and IBO 130lbs crowns last time out in November 2020 on the undercard of Katie Taylor’s win over Miriam Gutierrez in London.

The Denaby favourite was set to defend her World Titles in a unification clash with South Korea’s undefeated WBA World Champion Hyun-Mi Choi in May before sustaining a hand injury that has kept her side-lined for a number of months, but will now look to get her career back on track against Baumgardner (10-1, 6 KOs)in Sheffield.

“I am beyond excited for this,” said Galahad. “It will give me a great sense of pride to be making my first World Title defence right here in Sheffield, the city where my boxing journey began with the legend Brendan Ingle.

“Brendan told me way back when I was 14 years old that if I stuck with it, I would be a World Champion one day – so this will be a special moment for me, and it will be dedicated to Brendan and Alma Ingle. To make my maiden World Title defence right here in front of the incredible people of Sheffield, my family and my fans will be a very special moment.

“Kiko is a former World Champion and has been in with multiple other World Champions so he has a huge amount of experience. He is a very tough man and never shy’s away during a fight. You’re always going to be in for a hard night’s work with Kiko who will be pushing, pressuring and punching all night long.

“We saw how sharp and hungry he looked against Zelfa Barrett recently so with this being his chance to become World Champion again, I’m expecting an even hungrier and sharper version and I will be preparing for exactly that, with no stones left unturned!”

“The UK is like my second home, I felt robbed against Zelfa Barrett, but all the fans know who the real winner was,” said Martinez. “I hope that this time the judges will be fair with me. Galahad is a very good boxer and I respect him, but I am very confident in my abilities. I am excited with this opportunity. To become a World Champion in a second weight division is my goal.”

“I am very excited to be back out on November 13 and continuing the journey,” said Harper. “It has been a tough year out with the injury, but we have been constantly working in the gym and I feel so much more focused mentally. I couldn’t think of a better return than at Sheffield Arena back in front of the home crowd where I last boxed before lockdown.”

“I hope Terri Harper understands that when you step in the ring with me, I’m throwing bombs,” said Baumgardner. “Terri will feel every punch I throw. My punches are thrown with evil intent and I intend to hurt her, and to become ‘The New’. My time is now, and everyone will know who ‘The Bomb’ is. Don’t let a pretty face fool you. On November 13 I can’t wait to show the world that god has blessed me with talent and I intend to show what happens when talent meets opportunity and my fist meets Terri Harper’s face.”

“After a fantastic performance at Fight Camp, Kid Galahad is back defending his IBF Featherweight World Title for the first time,” said Ed Breeze, EVP Rights at DAZN. “It doesn’t get much better than a maiden title defence in your hometown, against a former World Champion in Kiko Martinez. Terri Harper also returns to the ring after a year out, putting her WBC and IBO Super-Featherweight Titles on the line. This is certainly not one to miss, live on DAZN around the world.”
