Manny Flores Stops Victor Olivo in 1st

Manny Flores thrilled his hometown crown with an opening round stoppage over Victor Olivo in a 10-round bantamweight fight at the Pechanga Resort in Temecula, California.

In round one, Flores landed a crushing left to the body that put Olivo down to a knee and he did not attempt to beat the 10-count t 1:50.

Flores, 119 lbs of Coachella, CA is 19-1 with 15 knockouts. Olivo, 117 3.4 lbs of Sonora, MEX is 21-5-1.

“I’m feeling good,” said Manuel Flores. “It was only one round, so I feel good, I can go again. I give myself a B today, I should have stopped him earlier.

Tito Sanchez stopped Edwin Palomares in round eight of their 10-round featherweight bout.

In round eight, Sanchez landed a hard right to the side of the head that sent Palomares reeling which led to Sanchez landing a huge flurry pf punches that put Palomares down and the fight was stopped at 53 seconds.

Sanchez, 126 lbs of Coachella, CA is 14-0 with eight knockouts. Palomares, 126 lbs of Mexico City is 18-6-3.

“I feel really great,” said Tito Sanchez. “My performance wasn’t great in the earlier rounds because I wasn’t letting go yet, but once I threw my right hand, it connected, and that’s what we were waiting for, for that moment. Palomares wouldn’t stop throwing; he wouldn’t let me plant my feet, so I can could catch him with a right. His condition was excellent. He was on point today.”

Grant Flores remained undefeated with a six-round unanimous decision over Luis Caraballo in a junior middleweight bout.

In round five, Flores dropped Caraballo with a hard left to the body.

Flores, 154 1/4 lbs of Coachella, CA won by scores of 60-53 twice and 59-54 and is now 7-0. Caraballo, 153 3/4 lbs of San Juan, PR is 7-5-1.

Daniel Garcia remained undefeated with a second round stoppage over Jorge Villegas in a lightweight fight.

Garcia dropped Villegas with a body shot. Garcia dropped Villegas again in the round and Villegas took the 10 count at 2:15.

Garcia, 135 1/4 lbs of Denver is 10-0 with eight knockouts. Villegas, 135 1/4 lbs of Oxnard, CA is 14-4.

Cayden Griffiths stopped Markus Bowes in round three of their four-round junior welterweight bout.

Griffiths pounded away at Bowes and and heavy onslaught stopped the bout at 52 seconds.

Griffiths, 141.8 lbs of Coachella, CA is 2-0 with two knockouts. Bowes, 138.8 of Roxborough, CA is 3-7.

Johnny Canas remained undefeated with a six-round unanimous decision over Pedro Cruz in a junior welterweight bout.

In round four, Cruz was cut from a punch of his left eye and a headbutt over his right eye.

Canas. 137.2 lbs of Santa Ana, CA won by scores of 60-54 on all cards and is now 6-0. Cruz, 140 lbs of San Jose, CA is 3-6/

In the main event, hometown hero Manuel “Gucci Manny” Flores (18-1, 14 KOs) will return in a 10-round bantamweight match up against Victor Olivo (21-4-1, 9 KOs). With three consecutive knockout performances, “Gucci Manny” will be looking to dazzle the crowd with another top performance. The 10-round main event will take place at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. Doors to the Special Events Center open at 4:00 p.m. PT, the first fight will be at 4:30 p.m. PT and the worldwide broadcast on DAZN will begin at 6:00 p.m. PT.

In the co-main event, Cathedral City’s Tito Sanchez (13-0, 7 KOs) will measure up against Mexico City’s Edwin “Pupo” Palomares (18-5-3, 9 KOs) in a 10-round super bantamweight fight. On the broadcast, Coachella Valley’s hometown undefeated stud Grant Flores (6-0, 5 KOs) will fight Carolina, Puerto Rico’s Luis Ramos (7-4-1, 7 KOs) in a six-round super welterweight fight.
